We were apprehensive we our daughter was enrolling at Cav because of all the negatives things we had heard. This is her first year there and she loves it. The staff, teachers and administrators are all wonderful; they help her success, feel confident and accepted. We have nothing but good things to say about Cav!

My daughter is given plenty of opportunity for advanced classes, the teachers actually provide real world assignments/learning, and they care about her well-being.

Our son is in the 8th grade at Cav and so far has had no complaints. He is diagnosed with ADD and is on a 504 plan. He has managed to keep his grades up so we have not needed to request accommodations this year. He never has homework since he completes his assignments in class. The teachers are good about emailing updates on what they are teaching. Our son is gay so we were worried about bullying. He has not been bullied at any school in the Lake Stevens School District. There is even an after school club for LGBTQ+ students. We are very happy with this school.

hate speech everywhere. the teachers don’t understand that kids need their phones for things. some kids need it for a disease, some kids need it for personal reasons (parents, friends, etc.) teachers don’t care about the students that much. if you’re sick and don’t feel good and you miss work, teachers shame you for missing class. gym teachers told me and some other students after a TWO year lock down, that it wasn’t healthy we couldn’t run a full lap. a full lap around a very long track. make us one for a long time, in the cold weather, no exemptions. popular kids held to raise, get to do whatever they want (standing in the MIDDLE of the hallway talking, being annoying in class with no warnings.) one time, i was texting my dad and got yelled at, and a popular kid was doing the same exact thing and didn’t get yelled at (and the teacher saw). one day, i brought my phone out after a test when there were 2 minutes left. keep in mind, i had an A in this class and might’ve been the best student or one of them, and my math teacher MADE me go through my camera roll to prove i wasn’t cheating. do teachers have no respect for students?

i have really bad anxiety, and sometimes i just need to sit. i was in the counselors office sitting there and breathing after absolutely sobbing and i asked if i could sit out for the colt run that thursday. a counselor told me exercise would HELP my heavy chest, and my panic attack. of course, they didn’t make me run. but still.

as you can tell, i have many, many bad experiences with cavelero. and many more probably, but it is a HORRIBLE school. if you’re truly thinking of sending your child here, don’t.

Cav is a great school. My son has enjoyed the wide variety of electives and accelerated classes that are offered.

parents are informed electronically by teachers daily and/or weekly.

Posted: September 15, 2018

They communicate as needed with parents with upcoming assignments.

there are many students with specific needs. Thank you for supporting programs at CAV.

Posted: September 15, 2018

I believe students with needs need more support in dealing with this effectively.

I would rate my experience a 4 + for this school.

Positives; it's a beautiful school, the teacher communication is excellent. Most teachers send weekly emails to parents which I really appreciate. The only negative is the school population is to big, by child felt overwhelmed by this. It was hard to make friends, and the lunchroom was to crowded. This was a problem for us so we will be sending him to a smaller school next year.

My children couldn't wait to get out of there. its ran like a prison and the children have no freedom to express themself.

I currently attend this school and will soon be leaving to go to Lake Stevens High school. While I have attended here all you hear is how everyone hates it. You feel like you are in a prison and the environment is so hostile. Most (not all) of the staff and teachers could care less about the student and fail to recognize that they are actually human beings with emotions. The principal does not like anything fun such as pep assemblies and fun events, so we rarely get them. I am getting my license yet I am being treated like a young child. If you are planning on having your child attend here, don't.
