This is my son’s first year at Whittier and I have really seen him thrive compared to where he spent his kindergarten year. I absolutely love the staff and his teacher. My 5 year old will be starting at Whittier for kindergarten next near and couldn’t be more pleased. This is hands down the best school in the area by far! On the first day of school when I picked my son up he said “mom there’s like absolutely NO bullies at this school!” and I was SO thankful to hear him say that. I recommend this school to everyone.

My kids have been attending Whittier since 2010. I’ve never met such wonderful teachers. The staff is amazing and for someone who has a child with severe ADHD, they have been so very supportive. The school counselor is one of the sweetest people I’ve ever met. The speech teacher is also wonderful. I can’t really say anything bad about that school! We love Whittier!

Some of the staff is above exceptional!! Then, there's some that are below standard which to me is concerning. Mr. Wentworth is a great principle!
I love the uniform I think it helps the children concentrate on learning and not on what another is wearing.

Whittier is a really wonderful school. There is high parent involvement and the staff loves their jobs, and that shows up in how well they treat the kids. Also, having the entire school wear uniforms is great. It makes things easier.

My Little is currently in Kindergarten and I volunteer in her class once a week. I love the teachers, administrators and other parents. Everyone seems to care about the environment our kids are in. There are a bunch of after school clubs and activities that are available and the volunteers and teachers who run them are wonderful. There is also a very active PTA that puts on some wonderful events and activities for the children. I had my reservations about the uniform policy, but it turns out they are completely unwarranted. Getting ready in the mornings is a snap. One of the arguments from parents not at Whittier about the uniform is that it stifles creativity... I really don't think this is the case. All the kids bring their own uniqueness and this lets their personalities shine.

Whittier Elementary has experienced and committed teachers, many of whom have been at this school for decades and live in the area. The administration has been understanding and supportive with us in effectively handling a serious allergy. The PTA is very active, and there are often parent volunteers in the classrooms as well. Whittier is the only school in the Everett School District with a uniform policy, which is very unusual for a public school, and it works well to help avoid cliques, reinforce school pride & camaraderie, and eliminate stress when school shopping and getting ready each morning. The school has been recently remodeled, while retaining its original character, and has a large playground, separate kindergarten playground, and an outdoor covered area. Overall, this is a great neighborhood school. If I had to select one area to nitpick, I wish the playfield was improved with better backstops, goals, infield, drainage(!), a perimeter track, and overall maintenance, to allow better utilization by the kids and community, but I respect that there are budget issues and don't feel this is enough to remove a star.
