this school is pretty bad except for a small portion of good teachers. the school is always noisy and all the children are rude in the hallways.
Posted: February 26, 2020
the homework is okay I guess but the homework and time limits that they give the students are low quality.
Posted: February 26, 2020
some of the teachers are good but some give us work and expect us to know how to do it even though there was no explanation on how to do it.
Posted: February 26, 2020
nobody respects anyone else in this school. in spanish we has to take 5 minutes just to repeat respeto over and over again because one kid thought it was funny to call anyone who got an answer even slightly wrong stupid.
Posted: February 26, 2020
we have good events and assemblies but the teachers don't explain to the students on how to get into the leadership advisory.
Posted: February 26, 2020
the learning disability program is really great except for the kids who blurt out things in the middle of advisory. all they do to keep them quiet is to say shh and show them a poorly drawn drawing of someone shushing them.

people get bullied all the time at the school and gossip is very heavy. some kids even joke about suicide.

Being a standards based school, homework is obsolete in some classes, and not in others.

Teachers at Chinook most definitely care for their students. The extra effort they put in to their students is unparalleled to any school to date that my child has been a part of.

Mrs. Jones is incredible. The Chinook community is a completely different place due to her dedication and commitment to the student and service area. SeaTac is blessed to have her.

As a former student of Chinook, and a current community member, the change that I have seen in this middle school has been incredible. Chinook is quickly becoming the go-to middle school in the district.

Worst school that I have ever had to deal with. I have six children and have dealt with multiple schools. This school by far is the worst that I have had to deal with in terms of the bullying issues, principal and teachers.

I am sad to say but the resource lab (IEP teachers) are the worst that I have ever experienced. No patience for the children and yell and get frustrated easily.
Posted: February 25, 2019
My children were not respected by either students or teachers.

My son has a learning disability. Worst school for this. Resource teachers were not supportive and would not take the time needed.

Bullying is high here at this school. Kids seem out of control.

I'm a student in chinook middle school, a 7th grader . I have been through a lot of schools and most of the staffs are nice and helpful if something happens and the students are nice but when I went to chinook middle school ... All I got was disappointment. The staff were a bit of rude to me and my parents and the students.. Parents lets just say the students here aren't the best... I actually learned something from this school and they gave me one gift that I will never forget. A gift of Anxiety.

Our family experience with the special education program in this school was not to our satisfactory. The staff at this school was not supportive in parent involvement. I would highly recommend that your family learn your rights, and request a prior visit to the school before your child starts school here. I also recommend that you visit while your child is in the school to be sure you are understanding and in the loop of your child's education.
