Based on old reviews, Microsoft badge, Christian school, I enrolled my child. Probably the worst decision I've ever made. Highly centered on online program through Toppenish. My child was online 70% of the day + more for homework. Low activity while in class, no parent-teacher interaction/communication, unmotivated teaching staff, hot tempered, reactive admin/principal for very simple, innocent questions like how do I contact my teacher. Many red flags that I ignored during "trial day". Questionable no refund policies. Honestly, can't think of one good thing about the experience. Paid way too much money for this school and would have had a better experience just doing online school, honestly. Run, run, run and don't look back. Trust me.

Simply an icnredible school. We miss it very much as we had to move away due to my job. My kids loved it and learned so much. The anti bullying policy is great missed. Thank you Dr. David Pauls Zimmerman and Michelle for your support and hearts you shared with our kids!

My kids have been at the school for 2 years. They are happy and well rounded. They find the school work challenging( which is what we as parents want) and do their best. We love the fact that God is an integral part of the school and everything that’s done is “ God centered”.
“If God is for us, who can be against us”. With that scripture in mind I can say with all confidence that the school is blessed and the students are protected, happy and safe in an environment that is protected by God.

Posted: June 13, 2018

It’s challenging and though sometimes intense, it has taught kids how to manage their time and be prepared for anything thing that comes their way. They are ready to deal with the intensity of being at a University.

Posted: June 13, 2018

The teachers put in their best time, effort, resources and more to give the students the best learning experience they can. They have empathy and compassion for the ones that struggle and again I have seen resources being used to help these students.

Posted: June 13, 2018

I have seen it in my own kids and in the atudents that I have come across at the school, including all my kids friends from school whom my family and I have associated with outside the school environment.

Posted: June 13, 2018

Leadership has been fair, proper and respectful. I come from an ethnic background and my family and I have always been shown respect and have always been given a listening ear.

Posted: June 13, 2018

I definitely have personal experience in this area and have seen how the teachers use resources available to help these students.

Posted: June 13, 2018

My kids come home happy and feel safe. Coming from an environment where they were bullied, to this has shown me that their 0 tolerance policy for bullying is effective and followed through.

I rate Renton Prep and Amazing Grace an “Award of Excellence”. I highly recommend this school to parents and students.

By giving students their homework, it gives my niece a good sense of responsibility to get it done. It teaches her work ethic in preparation for college.

Posted: April 3, 2018

I’m commenting based on my observations when I attended a science fair at Renton Prep as follows:
1. Students presentations were professional.
2. Exhibits were very well presented and illustrated.
3. I asked so many questions related to their exhibit and they answered with knowledgeable data’s.
This to me is a result of well balanced teaching techniques that teachers teaches their students.

Posted: April 3, 2018

My niece was the most respectful, compassionate with strong character and integrity. It inspired me that she can hold her very own individuality. She developed and learned these traits as a student in Amazing Grace and Renton Prep.

Posted: April 3, 2018

Effective leadership promotes achievement. My niece had achieved beyond our expectation. She gained a lot of experience by attending conferences and explored learning outside the box. Indeed this is leadership when the school itself motivates students to make the most out of their creative minds.

Posted: April 3, 2018

This school effectively supports learning differences. As my observations tells me, I applaud the efforts of teachers and administration to promote students participation in all levels. No students are left behind.

Posted: April 3, 2018

Definitely YES, each incidents were dealt with swiftly. Students goes to school to learn and not to bully or demean each other.

Posted: April 1, 2018

Overall, my experience at the Amazing Grace and Renton Prep campuses was not exceptional. I sent my child to the school after learning about its accomplishments and good reputation in the community; however, my views have changed drastically since then. After unpacking layer after layer of false advertisement, I have come to the realization that Renton Prep is not at all the Christian school that it is made out to be.

Posted: April 1, 2018

Although the school's promotion of their technology-based learning approach might appear to be admirable on the surface, the administration makes little to no effort to actually teach their middle and high school students. Based on the information that my child has shared with me, teachers at Renton Prep are only responsible for teaching students how to draw, use Microsoft products, and learn a little bit of Spanish. Core subjects, such as math and English, are left in the hands of online courses, which although not inherently bad, are most effective when used in conjunction with content developed by in-person teachers. According to my child, teaching methods that combine technology-based and in-person learning are hardly ever utilized in the classroom, and if attempted, are almost always executed poorly.

Posted: April 1, 2018

My stance on the effectiveness of teachers is fairly neutral, for there are both the good and the bad apples at Renton Prep. In regard to the elementary school teachers at the Amazing Grace Christian School campus, I find many of the staff members to be qualified for the job. However, that is a completely different story for the teachers at Renton Prep.

Posted: April 1, 2018

I guess my response will vary depending on how the user interprets compassion, integrity, and respect. If you understand these values to be matters of silencing student voice and making both covertly and overtly racist comments, then this is the perfect school for your child.

Posted: April 1, 2018

The leadership is very toxic at both the Amazing Grace and Renton Prep campuses, as they are both managed by the same three-person family. This is evident in the way that they choose to handle both parent and student concerns. It appears to me that in the times they are expected to take responsibility for their actions, Renton Prep staff and administration choose to deflect.

Posted: April 1, 2018

The school often emphasizes the importance of children working at their own pace to advertise its value of student-managed learning. What's interesting, though, is that my child understands there to have been multiple accounts of teachers choosing to disregard or overlook personal student needs. Once, when my child's friend talked to a Renton Prep teacher about their desire to learn at a different pace, they were met with sarcastic comments from the teacher to belittle and shut down their request. Immediately after the interaction had taken my place, my child said that their friend walked back into the classroom and started to cry.

Posted: April 1, 2018

Essentially, if you disagree or question the administration's beliefs, opinions, and thoughts in even the slightest way, you will be faced with the consequences that come with using your voice at Renton Prep. For many families I know of, this resulted in either suspension, expulsion, or both.

School has a zero policy toward bullying. 2 years ago a lawsuit was filed by a parent who disagreed with how the school handled a bullying issue. Parent demanded $300,000 to settle lawsuit. School refused based on its conviction that it would not permit bullying behavior, which in this case involved an angry parent. Forced to trial the school won the lawsuit and the parent loss a defamation claim. The school will not back down from maintaining a safe campus.

School operates at an accelerated pace. It does not have the resources for children with learning or emotional disabilities. Children must have a work ethic and meet basic expectations to complete course work as detailed successfully.

Unashamedly a conservative Christian school where the emphasis in on respect and honor shown to each other by celebrating the school’s diverse cultures.

If the students have strong character, integrity and compassion it is because they already had those things inside of them and it is due to their family system.

Posted: March 28, 2018

This school has NO program at all for students with disabilities or learning challenges. I know of one student who nearly failed a week before the end of the school year and the parents were not notified until it was almost too late to complete all of the missed work. This child needed support from the teachers and early intervention. The school failed this child in all respects.

The school administration is dangerous and toxic. They refuse to accept feedback, have no humility, and there is no accountability. I loved the families and my kid's classmates. It's a lot of money to invest in a school that, particularly for children of color, is more damaging than uplifting.

Posted: March 28, 2018

They don't do a good job laying the foundation for kids. It felt like they were trying too hard to inflate the reputation of the school b attempting to teach ahead of grade level. If students struggle you're told they aren't committed enough. Upper graders complete course work online through red comet.

Posted: March 28, 2018

Some teachers are ok, but the good ones end up leaving suddenly, mid-year because of the toxic school administration (this is supported by emails written by the Dir of Innovation). The school is run by a family and they do not like to be questioned and get very offended if they feel you are challenging them. It is often framed that families who question them are not being gracious.

Five star. Both of our kids are challenged at their grade levels. The proactive approach to bullying worked at stopping, at least for the most part, the relentless picking. This school is more Christian and it doesn't have a bible class than a neighboring christian school our kids previously attended. Our son needed a more rigorous academic environment and he got just that here. I can see that for children who struggle this may not be a good choice, but for us it is the perfect learning environment. The kids go on field trips almost weekly, they are very much trusted and expected to be responsible individuals.
