As a parent, I am sorely disappointed and disgusted by the behavior of the principal, Tia Kleinkopf. Unkind, rude, and uncivil. I'm shocked anyone would talk to another human being the way she does and she's a principal for crying out loud. Doesn't welcome and include families as partners in learning AT ALL.

Poor quality training for teacher, the district does not offer any certified teachers for their science of reading for special education. Poor ability to follow and reach established goals for their kids.

Excellent school. Love the new principal! The school, staff and PTA always try to organize fun and interesting events and activities for the students. The community feels very proactive and involved. I also noticed on numerous occasions that the school staff take bullying (or even something remotely close) seriously. Overall, very satisfied with Briarwood.

The teachers and principal of Briarwood are amazing! Extremely supportive learning environment. My daughter attended a private school until 3rd grade and we decided to put her back in the public school system. I would say the education she received for the past 2 years from Briarwood far exceeded my expectation. The school was total rebuilt in 2011, it is now a state of the art school building. I am extremely please with the school. Issaquah School District is one of the best school district in WA.

I grew up in the area and went to Briarwood and my two siblings as well. Now my son goes to Briarwood, I have always been very happy with the staff, programs and curriculum. I also love the principal he knows all the children on a first name basis!
