I would like to thank the entire school staff for the warm welcome extended to my children; everyone was very polite and approachable. The principal personally showed me around, and the school has everything necessary for a quality education. The teachers encourage the children's desire to learn! Even though we recently arrived from Ukraine, we are truly grateful to the school for such a wonderful example of hospitality.

They let my middle school age kid go out and protest while he was supposed to be in class. This is not good for the development of my child or anyone elses.

Student scores are low and yet this school would rather have students skipping school to encourage hate.

Taking students out of class to go protest in the streets and block traffic to make political statements is hardly a display of raising up up coming leaders who can handle meaningful discussion. The administration of this school should be ashamed of themselves.

Literally go to any other school. I had to go to the superintendent to get a response from the principal about what happened to my son at school. He came home with a bloody nose one day and a concussion the next. Kids here are doing terrible when it comes to testing. They do not follow IEPs at all and do not respond to emails regarding the matter. If I had the opportunity, I would pull my son from this school. A few teachers take a slight interest in the kids that's what the one star is for, but it is far and few between. Hopefully this change in staff will improve the school but I doubt it. When principal jumps ship you know it's going down.

Well my child was able to attend all regular classes and this has been a good thing. The school along with parent-teacher communication and problem-solving have been achieving good results.

The structure of the school has been used well. Students have only 4 minutes to walk from one class to a far away hallway for the next class. So in between classes students get fresh air (they have covered, outdoor corridors) and an aerobic workout so much trouble is prevented! Also the school has had poster events related to anti-bullying campaigns and I haven't heard of any bullying occuring the past 3 years and several years before that with other students who went there .

It isn't excessive and that is fine for this age group I think. Students are busy at school and that is good.

They are following the common core curriculum standards. There are lot's of tests and the grades are easy to keep up on via an app.

I think the Common Core standards could do a better job with this in the material in the English Language Arts and all classes. And there could be more encouragement of parents in this discussion and goal. There are reward tickets for showing these qualities.

The principal is nice and often greets students at the door in the morning. The staff is friendly and gets along well.

Pretty good. It was great when one teacher let parents go to classes with their student in the 6th grade. It really helped to see how things were going and to get a sense of the teachers. I have liked all the teachers at this school and staff at this school. It has been a positive place. Community in the Schools is there with 1-2+ helpers for tutoring and encouragement!

my child will start 6th grade this fall and I am very concern about the things I hear about the school. I have nephews and nieces that went to this same school and they all said if given the opportunity this would not be their first choice - but because of our address my daughter has to attend this school - my first impression was not so good when I attended open house a week ago -- while the principal was making a speech the teachers on the side lines were chatting away. I find that very disrespectful - the kids will see this behavior and do the same. I have my doubts about this school, test scores are horrible. the more I think about it, the more I would like my child to be transferred to a better school

I have a son with Down Syndrome that attended Olympic Middle School for 2 years. This was actually not the middle school in our district, but this was the school that actually took an interest in him as a student and educated him. I am sure Mr. Hill hated to see me coming, but he was always personally involved in my son's educational program. That is truly a rarity. The school in our district had made it virtually impossible, for us as parents, to educate our son. My son was experiencing many behavioral issues when he was first in attendance. The teachers at this school really worked with him. I loved seeing the positive attitude! Most schools love the "gifted child". I have one of those as well, my daughter. Her educational journey was much different than my son's has ever been. But the school that takes an interest in the developmentally disabled child is far more rare. My son has made tremendous strides and I believe I owe this school my gratitude. Thank you Mr. Hill! If I could give you '6" stars I would!

Olympic has many great teachers and my child loves the school. My child always has great stories about her teachers and saying how she enjoys her classes.
