I love this school and all the staff. Mrs. Sandoval is the best teacher in the nation and Mr. Irvine is the best principal in the nation. Mrs. Sandoval is the only teacher that has been able to reach my son, he learned so much from her and her support team. If you have a child that goes here feel privileged, this is a one in a million school.

My daughter has been a student at Grass Lake for the past 4 years. From the terrific office staff, wonderful and caring teachers, fabulous librarians, and one of the best principals around, you could not ask for a better learning environment. The PTA is active and involved and does a great job with family type events. My child has grown so much these past 4 years - academically she is excelling and most importantly, she is excited about going to school. Thank you Mr. Irvine and all of the staff for your hard work.

Im not saying names because we are figuring out how to handle this situation.....
My kids have gone to grass lake elementary for about 4 years now. For 2 years my younger son had a horrible bully. The school finally stopped it, but it took almost 2 years.. But Both of my boys have never been in trouble for anything at school until this year when my older son got this teacher. My older son (6th grade) is the sweetest little boy and he has never had a problem until now. His teacher this year makes him cry almost daily. I have other family members at this school also, and one of my family members is in this teachers class also. The teacher spends half the day with my sons class, and half The day with my other family members class. We have been told by many students that This teacher talks badly about one class to another class and vise versa.. " Here's an Example" ....... The teacher will tell my sons class that they did an amazing job at something, and Then when the classes switch he tells the other class that my sons class failed miserably!! This teacher talks badly about students to other students and that is not ok.

There are many more issues but its too much to write. So now my child comes home crying all the time, and is begging me to let him stay home from school. Which he has never done until this year. My other family member crys all the time now too. I loved this school until this year. Bullying students and talking badly about students to other students is NOT OK!!!!!!

My experience with Grass Lake Elementary School in the 2013 / 2014 school year was great. My kindergartener thrived under the direction of the teachers, and he enjoyed every experience he had throughout the year. I have had positive experiences all around with the teaching staff and on a volunteer basis. The school is smaller and this seems to cause the class sizes to be more manageable. As a working mother, I can not regularly volunteer, but there are many parents that do, and I try to whenever I am able to. I am so happy that both of my children are able to attend Grass Lake Elementary School.

Was a great school where you felt invited as a parent to volunteer or be a part of the school. All changed when Dan Irvine took over as Principle Sept 2013. This man does not know how to work with parents and makes you feel like your an intruder walking into the building! he has "sterilized " the environment and has chased several great parent volunteers out. He is a dishonest rude man whose only agenda is to make sure you know he is the man in charge! I say Boo to you to for what you have done to this once wonderful community!
