Ive had two kids graduate from LSHS, and another attended now. He likes all his teachers and never complains about going to school. They must be doing something right!

Lake Stevens high school has good things and bad things about it its pretty even in both!!! I will say one good positive thing there is the staff of all the teachers and Administrators I had there 95% of them were all very kind and understanding of me and my medical. I only had a few teachers there that would not understand me and my medical needs at all. One thing that is handled very poorly there is the IEP area and that kind of stuff. I kept being put in the same math and English classes and 98% of the time it was to easy for me they would not challenge me at all they just kept thinking that everything in math in English was all to hard for me when it really wasnt I took the same English class for 2 1/2 years and I took the same algebra for all 3 years. They are horrible at preparing you for your future I think I only probably had like 2 or 3 classes that were actually useful mostly everything else was useless. I did not get prepared at all after graduation. All the staff is great though!!!

LSHS is far from the worst school Ive gone to, but theres quite a few things that make it far from perfect. Occasionally improvements are made but overall the environment is one of a place where admins pretend everything is perfect when its not. Bullying is rarely outright acknowledged and theres extreme bias and favoritism towards certain groups of students. Academically, its a nice school, but there isnt much help that goes out to kids that are struggling. All in all, I love many of the teachers and counselors, but things would be better if certain people took time to make things better rather than pretending things are already great.

The administration does not handle bullying well and shows extreme favoritism to athletes.

The parents, teachers, and the community of Lake Stevens are very involved in the education of the students. There are a lot of experiences available to the students both academically and outside of the classroom. The school is always looking for ways to make more academic offerings to students, but encourages them to be well-rounded students.

There is an excellent sense of community here at Lake Stevens. When I moved here, I didn't feel out of place for very long, and most people want to get to know you and make sure you feel comfortable. The sports teams here are some of the best. We have a huge focus around sports, but our pep band makes other teams excited to come play us. Everyone loves Lake Stevens band! Band kids don't get made fun of here because they are just that great. Lake Stevens always makes you feel safe and at home. Kids are happy with their AP classes and clubs and activities. Kids are also so school spirited they can be compared to Seattle Seahawks fans' spirit.
