Our family had the worst experience with teachers, staff, and the district not doing anything and holding anyone accountable for what happened to my child. The teachers have overcrowded classes that they have no time to see whats happening in the background. We had bullying, threats and no one was held accountable. We made reports we had meetings and nothing ever came out of it. For parents to keep their child home because they know their child is not safe at school thats a big red flag. Removing my child from that hostile environment has been the best decision. The change in our child had been so big at the new school that can put all the focus in school.

Some of the teachers are super rude. Some of the administrators are very disrespectful and yells at us constantly. They only give us a 30 minute lunch and make us stay seated for 20 minutes of that time. We cant stand up unless we are getting food or going to the bathroom. After those 20 minutes are up we are alowed to go to the library but only some kids. Even then we cant stay standing, we have to sit. They also yell at us If we get to loud.

Teachers are brilliant and this rubs off on students. Lake Stevens schools have always been able to keep my son challenged in the areas where he excels. I simply would not move my company if it meant leaving Lake Stevens schools. Best school in Washington State! Go NLMS Bulldogs & LSHS Vikings!

We went from a very supportive, great culture at elementary school to an assembly line, low-support school here at NLMS. I am extremely disappointed in their ability to support special needs children. I am livid at the suggestion that we 'discipline' the medically documented disability out of our child. Constant battles to have simple assistance/reminders/support from teachers has been met with cold, uncaring stonewalling and reduced support as if to punish. 2 years here will be too much - looking into alternative home school, private school as we speak. The frustration and tears have to end for our family.

North Lake middle school is excellent. Their challenge classes and Algebra 1 are great. Students learn a lot without being overwhelmed by homework. Teacher communication is pretty good. Ability to see grades online via Family Connect is very convenient. My son is finishing his 3rd semester there and so far absolutely nothing negative to report.

This goes for the district as a whole, reasons are too numerous to detail: the joy that will surround the proud accomplishments of my child(ren)'s graduation will be overshadowed by the elation that I will never have to set foot or cross the threshold of these schools ever again! They would much rather throw our kids under the bus then make factual referrals of any incident in order to absolve themselves, the school and/or district, of any and all responsibility. Even if the school isn't at fault. Bottom line your kid loses in order for the school to win and be on top in any potential legal matter. It's by far a more appalling and egregious act of abuse on a child that I have ever seen by falsely accusing and branding a child. Your child(ren) learn that they have no rights and are detained without parental notice until after they done the "fact" findings. This district, and possibly any public school, is the most dysfunctional lot of individuals (with the exception of a few) and policies that go way beyond deciency and common sense. The only reason they can keep their doors open is because the large sums of your hard earned tax dollars are stolen to pay for it.
