Marysville Middle School

I went to this school in the 6th grade and the 7th grade. Those years at that school is so much better than totem. This school had lots of opportunities for students to become social together. They had students do activities in assemblies. The school hosted lots of events. Lots of time for socializing. For the school work, they gave lots of time for students to work on their assignments and get them done on time. I really feel sad future kids won’t be able to experience this amazing school like how I did a year ago. Bring back MMS is what I think and say everyday because I miss this school so much.

The school has 0 funding and it shows, it looks like an abandoned school.

They don't allow scooters and skateboarders after school and the teachers said to get off school property or I'm calling the cops on you when it's 4:00 that when they closed.

I've had the opportunity to become closer to the teachers. They always make sure you know that communication is open by giving you their contact phone number along with email address. Some teachers use Remind and/or Class Dojo to be able to keep in contact and up to date

They are working on transitioning and helping students to focus ach month on a core values. Practice makes better outcome in the future so by practicing and continuing to focus all month on a core character value students will be more likely to have that stick with them.

The school has been in a transition for a few years now and I would strongly agree that 16/17 and 17/18 school year the leadership is great and still improving. As do student grow, improve and Excell so does the leadership and staff.

I strongly agree. The teachers try to target each individuals learning strengths while still teacher other learning ways because it's still important to learn and adapt to a variety of ways.

Children with disabilities they work amazing with well. My son has SPD and they have been more than understanding and teachers working with him the best they can for him and with him. I currently have 2 children who attend MMS and another who will attend in 2 years who's currently homeschooled. We look forward to her attending, feeling safe with her learning differences and health dx that sometimes affects her learning abilities. We know we can count on MMS.

School bullying is very prominent in alot of Washington state schools, especially middle school level as children transition from "child" to adolescents/teenagers. At MMS I've found they target a bully free school and found that it's in general an amazing school that says NO to bullying. They are always willing to try and create an even safer place. So please speak to them if youre ever having issues. They can't stop/fix if they are unaware. It is a large school.

I was intimidated when my oldest entered middle school 16/17 school year. It didn't take long to fall in love with the staff, teachers, and students. Truly has been amazing and made us want to stay in this school area when we buy a house because we don't want to be at any other school. We have about another 6 years with MMS for 3 children and then a few years before the youngest attends. The counselors are very attentive and helpful. The administration is on top of everything and always willing to take input to "better" the school. This school has taught me to never judge a book by its cover. Although the school needs a renovation and facelift the characteristic, staff, educators and peers make it worth it.

Children use Chromebooks along with Google classroom to access homework and have homework typed up on computer preventing "lost homework" scenarios. They are using technology and helping advance their education at an earlier age mimicking college bound education.

Poor. It's poorly run, poor upkeep of buildings, lazy teachers, rude and busy office staff. Poor communication from teachers.

We are fortunate to have a choice in where a child goes to school. The teachers at Marysville Middle School care about their students and know how to make the most of their time in class. Kids are challenged and not just given poor assignments. Good choice. Looking forward to high school.

teachers neglecting kids that are being bullied. my son was bullied. when I called the school they refused to talk to me. they didn't know if I was his father or not. I told them to look at my sons birth certificate. they said they didn't have it on file. right there shows that the school is not doing their job. it's law that the schools has a copy of the birth certificate on file. The office staff was very hard to deal with. after receiving information from my sons mom they talked to me but acted like I was a child due to our conversations. all I asked them is why aren't they doing anything to help my son. they acted like my son was a trouble maker because the teacher wouldn't help him telling me he is not responding to the teach, and then they start treating him like a bad person. it made my child feel helpless. obviously aren't doing your job. your school is wasting are tax dollars and all I see are complaints why did you take down my posts on your facebook page and why aren't my other posts available. you don't like what I have to say. this is just another way to prove that mms is violating our rights and miss using their powers instead of doing whats right for our children

My daughter was handed a sports packet from the Marysville Middle School staff. On the packet has Fall sports, winter sports and Spring sports as options the child would like to try out for. Well, my daughter and I read the packet and filled it out together. My daughter chose the cheer leading option. I scheduled her an appt for her sports physical. My daughter had a few questions I was unable to answer so, i told her to go to the office.... Well, according to the office staff, cheer is only gor high school!!! so, my question is, why are you handing out "district" sports packets with high school sports options to Middle school if they cant try out for the ones the kids want to do?? the packet did NOT mention anything about cheer being only for high school. Why dont they hand out sports packets that pertain to the school sports the school alone provides??? very disapointing. My daughter and I were very excited. I think the school really needs to get there sh*^ together, and be on the same page.

My step daughter just started this year, but already they have helped her and me to feel welcome and I enjoy this school. Thanks MMS.
