Traumatic experience for my son. My child has very few good or positive memories from his time at this school.

Zero communication between teachers & parent for homework tasks.

Posted: April 20, 2020

In my child’s experience, most of the teachers were terrible.

There is no special education class rooms & the solution is to constantly send child out of class to front office; child not learning.

The teacher at this school are top notch, they are all very caring dedicated professionals who are always trying to look out for what is best for there students.

Posted: March 12, 2019

This school does try to to teach these things but there are a lot of children that come in to the school with problems from home that unfortunately has to be dealt with at school, so educational time is cut short

All of the staff work well together to make each day successful

Posted: March 12, 2019

the school has been wonderful and providing the services that my children need to be successful with their learning disabilities

there is a tremendous amount of bullying that goes on the school and it seems like no matter how many times you talk with the principal or the guidance counselor the situations never get handled appropriately and the bullying just continues

I would rate this school 6 I'm not unhappy with it the teachers are fantastic the staff is understanding my biggest complaint is the bullying that continues to go on and the children that are the culprits don't seem to be punished

This year my 4th grader and my 5th grade did not have homework it wasn't given out. My 1st grader still had homework sent home.

So far, this school has been great and we are proud to be a part of this community .

We came from a school district in Virginia that never had homework. While I understand this is a common approach these days, I felt like I never knew what my son was studying. This school sends home a healthy amount of homework giving me a chance to share with my children and connect with them on what they are learning. The communication has exceeded my expectations.

I have a 3rd grader and a child in the universal pre-k program. The level of communication and the heart of these teachers has exceeded my expectations.

Posted: September 16, 2018

Both my children come home telling me things they've learned from their teachers and guidance counselor on kindness and anti-bullying. Teachers can only do so much in the time they have with these kids but it is clear they are doing their best to encourage a kind environment.

I strongly disagree with the review about the prek teacher. She is absolutely one of the best in the county. Perhaps this child was in head start? There is a difference.

Love this school and the teachers. My child adored prek and is loving kindergarten as well.

My son is in the pre school program. Teacher is cold and makes up her own rules that are not county policy.

Having an IEP in Jefferson County means basically nothing. I'm a trained teacher and I know what federal standards are.... Jefferson co epic failure

I would rather home school my son than send him back. Last year he loved school at TA Lowry as a three year old. This year he cries and begs not to go.... Direct correlation to the teacher.

I would like my second child to go to a different school. My first has had all A's but when I look at his work so many thing are wrong. What are the teachers grading on? I have to do more "home Schooling" to get him ready for life then this schools does. 3rd, 4th and 5th grade he never has homework, the teachers are very slow to respond to parents, the school does not do a good job at all keeping people informed. just check out their web page. . . no info on it. I have to go to other schools pages and get info about things. Its a very sad atmosphere and not happy or stimulating.

The test scores are lower than the state average. It seems with the amount of honor roll students the scores should have been higher. I'm wondering if they are challenging the students.
