NCBC Gulfport Housing and Information:

Location: Naval Construction Battalion Center (NCBC) Gulfport is located in Harrison County in the city of Gulfport, Mississippi on the Gulf of Mexico. Gulfport, along with Biloxi, Pascagoula, Ocean Springs and Bay St. Louis, is one of the cities that line the beachfront of Mississippi. New Orleans, Louisiana is only 90 miles west. The Center prepares for and supports all facets of the mobilization of construction forces including Reserve units.

Schools: There are currently no DODDS School on base. There are many fine public and private kindergartens, elementary, middle, high and vocational schools on the Gulf Coast.  

Families living on base can choose to send their children to any school in the school district adjacent to their home base. That means their children can go to schools in Biloxi, Long Beach, Harrison County, or they can choose to remain in Gulfport.

If military families choose to enroll their child in a neighboring school district, the  law states that they have to provide their own transportation to and from school.

Housing: Contact the Housing Office at 228-871-2586 or call DSN 312-868-2586 as soon as orders are received to get on the housing waiting list.  Naval Construction Battalion Center has a total of 208 Housing Units available for enlisted. There are 84 units with 4 bedrooms, 16 units with 5 bedrooms, 80 units with 3 bedrooms and 28 units with 2 bedrooms. There is 1 unit for the Commanding Officer and 6 other officer-housing units.
