My kid has learned a lot in kindergarten, but some of the teachers for the older grades dont seem to have a hold of their classrooms.

Also, preschool just got rid of snack time. Now kids from ages 3-5 are expected to have breakfast have 7:45, and go without food until nearly 12:15 once they have lunch.

I would recommend Centerra to any family looking for a great school! The teachers, principal, staff and parent support are all amazing! Any minor issue Ive had was addressed immediately. You can FEEL how the staff really cares. Weve been here 3 years and love it!

My daughter is new to Centerra Mirage this year and we are loving it! We were so concerned that this change would be hard for her but she has been thriving at this school. Everyone at Centerra is committed to the success of every child that attends here. The children are on first name basis with the staff, including their wonderful principal. The teachers are so involved and truly want to see their children succeed. I love the energy they bring and everything Centerra stands for. I look forward to seeing my little girl grow and learn from all the wonderful staff here!

Excellent resources, great staff, and teaching administration!! Events like stem night and kids at Hope are huge, beautiful campus!! I would definitely recommend CENTERRA MIRAGE!!

this is probably one of the worst schools i've been to. the teachers literally don't do anything about any form of bullying and just say "ok" whenever you confront them about any problem you're facing. the students here will literally throw things at you, dump milk on you, and so much more. the teaching here is horrible, they spend more time on making sure you're doing i-ready than actually teaching. the teachers go over the same material for half the year and wonder why the students are behind when they don't do anything to control their students, and blame it on the students instead of actually trying to fix the problem. the school does a horrible job on maintaining actual education by making the students have three class periods, and expect the teachers to either teach two completely different subjects, or to make them go to a teacher that actually teaches that subject every three days. due to this, it impacts students learning by not being able to learn the correct material that they might need for the future. the lunch here is horrible and it's the same thing every single day. its literally either nuggets, or some form of sandwich/burger. not to mention the fact that you literally have to pay for it despite most students not even eating it. the other students here are more concerned on doing whatever they want since the teachers don't know how to assert any form of order unless it's yelling at them, then having a breakdown despite it being their fault on why the students act this way considering they don't do anything about it. the nurses here are horrible, they just give you a peppermint and tell you to go back to class even if you're vomiting in their office. plus, the nurses here are extremely rude for no reason and will treat your child like literal scum of the earth. not to forget the bathrooms. they either are the most unsanitary things, or their flooded. one year when i went to this school i saw several of my classmates vaping in there. the extracurricular here is horrible, the last i've heard is that only certain grades can do extracurricular activities, and even then theres hardly any to begin with. if i could rate this school lower, i definitely would since one star is being too nice towards this school considering how the students are treated here. if something like a fight happens, the school doesn't give equal punishment, or enough punishment towards the students. overall it's unfair if one of the students was more injured than the other

If I could give this school negative stars I would. I finally unenrolled my son from the self contained program. He is a spastic quad and was in the self contained program. They are completely incompetent and unable to meet my sons needs. This is the lowest functioning program in the district and they had no other options for him. They have literally caused him to have wounds on his feet. When meeting with the entire team including Dr Butler I was called a liar by his teacher, and the nurse said I am only human in response to them putting his AFOs on incorrectly repeatedly causing wounds on his feet. Outside professionals have witnessed this incompetence and agree the wounds are caused from his braces being put on backwards. Teacher turn over is extremely high. I have typical children in the school as well and the school as a whole has been horrible. I would NEVER have my children here if I had other options. I will be filing a formal complaint. Trust these reviews and do not put your children here.

Used to work here. A lot of kids with issues that ruin the learning experience for the good kids. A lot of bullying and the school/district makes it hard to discipline/some sort of repercussion. No homework. Easy to pass so if you dont want your kids to be challenged then this is the place for you. From the outside looking in school seems fine but I dare you to work or volunteer here. Also some teachers are great they just dont get the support they need.

Our family moved here from across the country. To say I was concerned about shifting my junior high age son to a new school in the middle of the year is an understatement.

The STEM school idea fits his interests, so we gave it a chance.

Centerra Mirage was an excellent choice. Hes cheerful each day after school with a sense of belonging already. I was surprised he was making friends from the first day as other kids reached out to him immediately. I thought thatd take more time. In fact, a front office employee had their own same age child ready to guide him to his room helping him adjust more comfortably that first day which meant so much.

Most importantly, I feel more clued in to his academics and his teachers here than I did at the much larger junior high he left. Hes challenged in the right ways here.

Teachers have been approachable and down to earth. My son called that out to me which is huge. I want him to be able to talk to his teachers without being intimidated so he can learn to trust these important, impactful adults he spends so many hours of his day with at school.

His two main teachers clued in to who I was when picking him up each day by making it a point to reach out and speak with me. I sincerely appreciated that. Most importantly, though, each one engaged him directly from the first days.

A few months in and its already gone better than expected. There are so many school options in an open-enrollment area coming from a state that does not work that way. It can be confusing and overwhelming.

Im thankful we chose Centerra Mirage and feel lucky to have a public STEM academy option. Id recommend Centerra Mirage STEM Academy in a heartbeat.

New parent who has been trying to get my kids registered. I have stopped by school office several times, no one answers the door. I have called numerous times and no one answers. Mind you this was all within normal school hours. Finally my kid was able to get an answer at the side office door (so these workers are literally inside as I am ringing the bell to get in at the front door!) So I go to the side door and was told (by someone who already had all her bags in hand ready to go) that the office closes at 3:30 AND IT WAS ONLY 3:25 OR 3:27 AT THE ABSOLUTE LATEST! mind you I was there earlier than that standing at the front door waiting... all this just to drop off paper work that was all completed and signed, I needed no copies, literally all that was needed was to take it and say "Thank you, I can process this in the morning. I will give you a call if anything else is needed" but NO! I got no help. Horrible customer service! At this point I do not want to send my kids here. This has been a pain and nothing but frustration.

For the 2nd year in a row, my grandson wa supposed to get an honor roll certificate at the award ceremony but didn't get called up to receive it. Apologies were accepted the first year but this 2nd year is unacceptable! They said they forgot to write up the award. Again, unacceptable! I would have loved to get a picture of him holding the award with his classmates.

My three children were attending this school until my middle child who is 6 and has a severe speech disorder came home with a large bruise on his arm that was clearly inflicted by an adult (staff member). The principal did nothing about this, in fact she didn't even apologize for this happening to my son. The principal cares more about covering this incident up and not taking responsibility for it rather than find who did this to my son and stop it from happening to another child. Overall even aside from this incident this school lacks resources and leadership including principal and vice principal lack morals and should find a different sector to work in besides education. They are horrible at their jobs, despite multiple attempts to help them be sufficient for my child they are sorely lacking in multiple areas.

My son had a small incident with another student, in less than a week my son and the other student were friends. The principal, teacher and myself worked together and communicated and the situation was taken care of.

I read all the reviews and I cannot relate, I've had an AWESOME experience at this school. The teachers are amazing and the office staff is great!!! Both Principal and Vice Principal are the best. My kids so far have enjoyed being at Centerra, can't wait for this new school year to begin. I think the only thing they lack is parent participation with PTSA, but hopefully this will change.

I truly wish that old (over two years old) ratings could be removed from this website. It's very unhelpful to read about things that took place years ago. Also, it is very unhelpful to read reviews from obviously disgruntled kids with an agenda.

I'd like to say that this is a great school. The STEM Academy is meeting the needs of kids with good solid teaching, great technology and wonderful opportunities. The staff is professional and well-trained. On a recent visit to the campus I was very impressed with how orderly and calm transitions are, and how engaged students are in learning. I'm also intrigued by the parent who said that her child was doing poorly but then took her child to a charter school where he/she is doing well. Stop and think, parent, that should give you a warning that your charter has very low standards.

As a community member I'm very proud to support Centerra Mirage. They are a school that will help your children meet your expectations.

I was concerned about sending my daughter to public school, at the onset of the school year I was ready to enroll my daughter into a pricey private school if Centerra Mirage didn't meet my standards in the first week of school. Let just say that in the first week of school I was astonished at what her two teachers and the front desk staff did for my daughter. They made her feel that she was an important part of her success at Centerra Mirage. Then it all came together, one of her teachers noticed something no one had in the past. My quite shy girl was really into STEM. Once that little windowed of opportunity became available her teachers took her by the hand and have been guiding her to her t destiny. I am for ever GRATEFUL! You see anyone can stand in front of a class and recite a lesson plan; its a person who loves what they do to pick up on clues the student gives. On a rare occasion you will find a teacher who is the epitome of a teacher; I'm lucky my daughter has two. These teacher couldn't move forward when they see that special spark in a child's eye if it wasn't with the support of the Principal and her staff. Centerra Mirage is changing lives one child at a time.

My children are two years apart. I've had them there since kindergarten, oldest now in 6th grade. My oldest spent two years at a different school, and I experienced first had what a bad school is and does on a child's education. At Centerra my children have really been able to grow in a great learning environment. From teachers who care about educating, yet still know they are children that need entertained to make school fun. I've had nothing but great experiences from all the staff. I appreciate all that this school has done, and will continue to do.

this school is not that good of a school . we've lost sooo many teachers this year and it's not even funny . our principals are very rude and do not even bother to help out the students . lots of people get bullied at this school and the teachers don't even do anything about it . the 7th and 8th graders did very bad on the aims . we knew like 1 or 2 questions on the test . and the rest we didn't even learn in the whole school year . it's pretty crazy just to think about it . I wouldn't take your children to this bad quality school .

I would start off by saying if I could give this school 0 stars I would. I totally agree with the parent who said this school is a mess ! Even though I'm a girl , I'm not going to lie, this school is sexist towards boys. This school year, they could not even keep a math teacher for a full month. If you want your kid to get bullied, send them to this school because I see it everyday. I can't even begin to tell you how many kids have moved because of all the problems here. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE SCHOOL. DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD HERE.

I did not realize how bad this school was until I took my kids to another school. This was their first school. I was told that they were meeting standards. When I moved them to a school that followed standards, my kids were below, and had not learned anything at there grade level. Specifically, their math schools were way behind. Thank goodness, I caught it early. There are excelling at their new school. Furthermore, the principal was not a man of his word. He would tell you one thing and then do another. They also did a poor job of informing me when my child was seen i the office or the nurse. My children would have to tell me when they got home. Also the school had a huge problem with bullies. The principal seemed more concerned with appearing to be bully free, than to actually deal with the problem. My children actually got injured by other students, and the principal tried to sweep it under the rug. I had to move my kids to another school. They have zero issues at the new school.

Ms. Swanson Kinder, Ms. Nunez, Mrs. Looper, Mrs. Jones 1st grade, Ms. Hicks, Ms. McCoy 2nd Grade. I have to say they are amazing and come with a lot of experience. Enjoy and good luck parents.
