I have three daughters in elementary grades and this school has been amazing educational and staff wise. The bond they build with the children and parents is amazing. The after school program Bash is also so beneficial for late parents that work and the staff after school is amazing as well.

My experience at this school is very good, my kids like the school and are very happy at school. The teachers are very mixed when it comes to how they treat the children. Some are very nice and welcoming others are very harsh and difficult. Overall I really like this school and will have my kids go here until they are done with 8th grade.

I can't recommend this school enough! It has truly been a wonderful experience for my children. The positive learning environment, dedicated teachers, and supportive staff have made all the difference. I have seen my kids excel in ways that are remarkable since we made the switch from public school. My children love all their teachers. The teachers are very kind, respectful, they're sweet with the kids. They will slow down if they see that the children are struggling with there class work or just don't understand the concept or having a hard time doing the work, they'll take them one-on-one with them, to help them understand. Teachers will text or call or arrange meetings if they have any concerns or any requirements, suggestions that will help them get better in the future.

My daughter started kindergarten with Ms. Bolden in August, only speaking Spanish, and Im so impressed with how much she has progressed in English in such a short time. Ms. Bolden has been incredibly patient, kind, and understanding, always making sure my daughter feels comfortable and included in class.

The entire school staff has also been amazing they are very helpful, organized, and always willing to answer questions or offer support when needed. I can tell they truly care about the students and work hard to create a positive learning environment.

I also love that the school provides so many fun and educational activities for the kids. Theres always something creative going on, which keeps the children excited to come to school every day.

Im very thankful for Ms. Bolden and all the staff for their dedication, patience, and hard work. My daughter has grown so much both academically and socially, and I couldnt be happier with our experience at this school!

My son is in kindergarten, and overall, our experience with the school has been very positive. The academic support and therapy sessions have been excellent, and the communication from teachers is generally strong. I truly appreciate the care and attention my son receives.
One area that could improve is timely communication when my son gets hurt or has behavioral issues-l'd prefer to be informed right away rather than at the end of the day. Also, leaving messages with the front office can be unreliable, and the Band app used for teacher communication isn't very effective.
Despite these concerns, I would definitely recommend this school to other families. The strengths far outweigh the areas for improvement.

Every time that we go to an activity at the school. It is a positive experience. The teachers are very friendly and kind. Theyre very engaging with the students always willing to help. I have a great communication with teachers. The overall culture of the school is really good. The nurse is great, and the office staff in the front are always very kind and friendly greeting you with the biggest smile.

The classrooms are small and over crowded. There is a disconnect between the teachers and administration and the teachers don't get the support they need. There is not enough room for all the students to gather for assemblies or really even for lunch. There are too many students on this very small campus.

I have a kindergarten at this school, and one of the only reasons I let my child go here is because it have All Day Kindergarten. I think this is the worst school YET I have come across. Communication is non existence. Anytime I tried to get in touch with my child's teacher, she never responsed. The only time I did get her to response was after speaking with the principal. Any information I get sent home is either after the event or a day away from the event (I check my child's backpack everyday). Here it is the end of April 2016, I only received one report card and two progress reports on the same day, I think back in January. Needless to say my child WILL NOT return next year! If anyone was to ask me if I would recommend this school to them, I would strongly recommend to send their child(ren) somewhere else.

My family and I all love the school, everyone from the admin assistants/school nurse/teachers are so welcoming and helpful. The before and after program is amazing and my daughter loves going not too mention how convenient it is for me with my demanding work schedule. The teachers are very active and keep in close contact with the parents as to the status of your child and his/her grades/performance/assignments. I appreciate all of the hard work everyone displays and the genuine care/concern/kindness they display to all of their students!

I have a daughter is in 3rd grade and my son graduated from there and he is now in high school. I love the staff ALL of them everyone is so helpful it definitely feels like family. I would recommend this school 100% they have transportation and they have after care.

My daughter started Kindergarten at a different school and did not do so well there. Within 3 weeks, I pulled her from that school and enrolled her in Imagine Avondale. She immediately excelled and loves it there. Even getting student of the month after her 3rd month there. Her teacher Mrs. Plath is a phenomenal educator and I am so lucky that she is my daughters teacher. She knows how to balance having fun and teaching so much so that my daughter sees every day as fun and can't wait to go back the next day. I feel like my daughter is receiving the best education out there with Mrs. Plath and I can only hope that her next teacher is as awesome.

My granddaughter had been doing poorly in Desert Thunder Elementary. Her parents transferred her this year. There is after school assistance with her work and she has improved greatly. She felt like a failure at the other school and now she has much more confidence in herself and her abilities. They do not let children slip through the loopholes! My thanks to this school for helping her. My grandson is also attending here. He was always getting red days at the previous school. Now, his behavior has improved immensely!

I loved Imagine Avondale since day one, a friend recommended it to us...So few years back when I enrolled my first child to kindergarten, couple weeks later his teacher called me for a meeting cos she noticed my child "being very smart & always on task in academic & conduct" he won't talk what so ever with teachers or piers. He was diagnosed with Selective Mutism (psychiatric disorder in which a person who is normally capable of speech is unable to speak in given situations or to specific people). Imagine school believes that "all kids are capable of success no exceptions" that was put to the test since my child's condition is rare & requires a lot of one on one work & building a special bond with the child to enable him to overcome this challenge. The entire Imagine family participated in my child's treatment plan, they by far exceeded all my expectations in the personalized care my child receives each & every year...All My kids now are very successful no exceptions...Great teachers who take the success of all their kids very personal, Amazing staff, Plenty of Awards presented to recognize & encourage the Kiddos to achieve more, Lots of events & fun activities. Highly Recommended

I have been with Imagine for several years now and absolutely love my job! From the minute I stepped in the door I felt the community feel amongst staff and families. No school is 100% perfect, but Imagine Avondale is truly striving to balance and excel in academics, parent involvement, character education and academic differentiation. Teachers work hard to assess, reassess and enrich all students learning. Differentiation takes place daily throughout hands on learning activities, partner learning and centers. Intervention stratgies are in place with our SEI classroom, reading lab, and 21st century programs. Our school is based on positive character development & bullying is definitely not tolerated. However, it is nearly impossible to eliminate all modes of bullying on each and every social level. Teachers & staff work hard to educate and promote character development in all our students; however, some of the responsiblity must come back to the students as well. Thank you, to all who truly value our school, families, and staff. I can't imagine working in another school. I believe in our school, our staff, families and most importantly in our kids. We will achieve great things!

My kids have attended Imagince since it opened. This school is great for parents who are really involved in their children's education. Staff and teachers are always keeping the community informed and are always willing to help out. Teachers are all so amazing and great, but no doubt Ms Walsh is the best teacher at this school. She has been the most amazing mentor for my daughter, she really cares about all her kids and I show that she LOVES what she does. My son was being bullied once, and I email his teacher in the evening, I was plesently suprise to receive a reply right away and to have the issue handle the next day. I know it was resolved because my son came home very happy the next day about how they treated the situation. Ms Agnew and Mr B have also always addressed my concerns in an very timily and efficient manner.

I am an Imagine Avondale parent. My daughter had her kinder promotion May 2013, I can not begin to describe our feelings; we are more than satisfied. Our daughter has learned so much, she has grown so much with the help of Mrs. Johnson. We feel like the most proud parents in the world. My daughter was awarded Student of the Month for February and she will receive the Student of the Year award. My daughter was 4 years old when she started school back in August. She was given a readiness test and was admitted to kinder. Although she was younger than other students she succeded along with them. Mrs Johnson's teachings made learning fun for her. And I am so thankful for all faculty they are genuinely interested in all the students and education is priority. I only want the best for my kids and I know Imagine Avondale is the Best.

My daughter just completed Kindergarten and I love how they celebrated the kids. For the week they have different events to commemorate the year as well as classroom graduations where our teacher recognized each student's achievements and dreams. The principal really came out of here shell towards the end of the year and the VP is incredible. My only complaint is the front desk staff is less than desirable, they did not know much this year as they changed staff. We are returning next year. The thing that would make this school better is more parental involvement with activities,events and the PTO board. Fortunately for us, there is no fee or membership associated with PTO so if more parents were engaged it would bring the school up a few more notches.

Since my two boys began attending imagine avondale they have loved it! When our kids love getting ready for school in the mornings and they're the ones pushing us out the door to get there really speaks great about a school! Of course nobody is perfect and no school for that matter will be perfect either. We each have the right to have our own opinions and I'm all for that but I'm just saying Let's be fair here. Imagine does provide the children with an excellent curriculum and their efforts in going that extra bit to provide that extra help with 21st Century, SEI, the reading intervention programs (I sometimes feel bad for those reading teachers just thinking how much gripe they probably get from the children who miss their specials classes for reading) I truly believe imagine avondale has teachers who actually care about our kids' education and that is really what us as parents should take into consideration.

This is a great school if you want your child SCREAMED at on a daily basis! I have witnessed teachers screaming at, getting in the faces of and being just plain mean to the younger students! It is absolutely ridiculous. And don't expect a call back from the principal or vice principal. They are too busy with "meetings" to deal with an upset parent. HORRIBLE discipline practices in this school!!! The ONLY good thing about this school is 5th grade teacher Stephanie Walsh.

IF YOU WANT YOUR CHILD TO BE A BULLY OR IF YOU WANT YOUR CHILD TO GET BULLIED, THEN THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOUThis school does not care about children or their safety. I am the proud mother of a child who is in third grade going to fourth grade. My child went to school every morning with a smile, but to my realization, was faking it because of fear. One day I asked how school was, and was finally told what was going on. My child was being bullied by another student in class. When informing the teacher about what what going on, the teacher did nothing about it. I tried to talk to the teacher, but the teacher was never available. When trying to get a hold of the principal or someone in administration, but never got an answer or so much as a phone call. This continued until the very last day of school. I am so glad that school is finally over so I can withdraw my child from this horrific environment. I have never heard of a school that condones bullying, or a school that tolerates bullying. Just a shameful school, and I'm ashamed at myself for keeping my child there as long as I did.

This school is nothing but a dog and pony show. I requested my daughter to be in Mrs. Walsh's 5th grade class next school year and when I came in to talk to her about it she told me flat out that she already had her "apple" students in her class and that she didn't have room for my daughter. The way I took it was, my child is not good enough or smart enough to be in her class. I went to Principal Agnew, Mrs. Frazey, and Danielle Rehling with those comments and they brushed it off like it was not big deal. They made me feel like my daughter was a second class citizen. All I wanted was to give my child the very best education and I have heard Mrs. Walsh was the best. After this, I am pulling my child from this school, and telling every parent I know that this school encourages discrimination on students who are not "apple" students. Administration doesn't care about students, they only look at kids as money in their pocket. The more students enrolled, the more money in their pocket and who ever owns the Imagine company. It's not a school, its a corporation. DO NOT SENT YOUR CHILD TO THIS "SCHOOL"!!!

Today while walking through the hall at Imagine Avondale I saw 5th graders with their 1st grade reading partners. They were walking quietly down the hall. It warmed my heart to see the bonds that were being made and the examples the 5th graders were giving to the 1st graders.

My little man is about to graduate from kinder and I am so exceted. He could not have done it with out the caring staff at Imagine Avondale. They offer 21st centry which is a free tutoring program for kids and my child was in Ms. Gregory's class. She is so amazing, words cannot describe how much I appriciate all the work she puts in. My student is in Mrs. Johnsons class and he came home the other day talking about Taibet. He has learned so much and I am super excited for him to be in Ms. Chubbs class next year. Parents are so supportive, teachers go out of their way, and admin is great. I also love the after care program. When I pick him up, he never wants to go. I have to drag him out of their. Ms. Elliot and her staff work so hard to make sure the kids are always entertained. I also can't believe the relationships the students have with each other. All the big kids (middle schoo students) know who my child is and it makes him feel good that they all know his name and come up and say hi. I think there are great opportunities for leadership roles for every child who goes here. This school is definantly setting students up for success.

I am very happy to have brought my girls to Imagine Avondale. I have a 5th Grader and a preschooler. They are both very exited to return next year especially my 5th grader! She can't wait to be in middle school. I have never seen how much the teachers care about their students as I see here. All of the teachers and staff at IA are all awesome! I love how family oriented this school is. The minute you walk in you feel like you are part of the family, which I never felt at my daughter's previous school. Every once in a while things and people fall into your lap, which is the case with this school. I simply love how great these teachers are with this kids. Everyday when I drop off my kids they are met with a smile and a hug. They have brought up their grades and my sixth grader just love all his teachers. They offer an environment for these kids that supercedes my expectations. My friends were right when they said i would be impressed!!

Completely UNSATISFACTORY!!!! My son has been bullied for months and the principal does nothing to the kid that is bullying my son. This kid bullies my son and other children and the school does nothing to him! Mainly because the assistant principal is somehow a friend of the bully's family. NEVER again will my son return to this school. The principal does NOT care about the well-being of the students. My son's 3rd grade teacher is also useless, and oblivious to all the kids being bullied by this kid which feel comfortable telling me and complaining to me about it but not her.

My daughter is in the preschool program at Imagine Avondale and it makes me so happy when she tells me she loves school. Her teacher, Miss Thompson, has done an amazing job with her and her class. I have seen Miss Thompson in action, teaching these 3-5 year olds at their appropriate level. I am so excited that will going to kindergarten next year. I wouldn't even think about considering a different school for next year. She is here for the long run.

I heard so many wonderful things about this school and was so excited for them to begin attending. We had bad experiences quite frequently and tried reaching out to express the frustrations but the Issues continued to occur, we eventually had to pull our children from this school.

It has been so incredible to see how our daughter has blossomed this year and I truly believe that one of the main reasons is Ms E.Chubb. I am so impressed with how she interacts with the children and how they respond to her. They really love and respect her,as she does them. I have never seen a teacher/student bond like the one she has with her class, it is a beautiful thing to be able to witness. It is very obvious how much she cares for each of them. I wish all of the parents were able to see what I have seen and how hard she works with them and cares so deeply about helping them reach their goals. I dont think the teachers get the credit they deserve sometimes from us parents and that is why I thought it was so important to express to you just how happy we are with the school and all of the staff working there. The emotional investment she has in these children is so very rare these days. They are not just another group of kids they seem to each have a special place with her and I believe they know that. I know that our daughter does, she just adores her and is already sad about having to leave her class to go into second grade. Great job to you and all your staff!

My child has attended this school for two years. He entered the school as a struggling reader. He had no confidence in his reading and would be in tears because he "just couldn't do it." This year, Mrs. MK Smith, showed my child that he is capable of anything. He is reading at grade level and has improved across the board. I am so proud of him. I was so lucky to have found Imagine Avondale. It is a school I recommend to anyone. Here the teachers REALLY do care and are invested in the future of our children.

Both my daughters have been attending Imagine Avondale since the school first opened, and our family is extremely pleased with their academic and social growth over the past few years! Classes sizes are small compared to the school districts where they previously attended. The school offers many afterschool activities for both the girls to participate in including volleyball, cheerleading, book club, step crew and ecology club. Teachers at Imagine Avondale go above and beyond teaching the basic standards and challenge each of my children. Myself, husband, and girls love Imagine Avondale.

I have two children who attend Imagine, a kindergartener and a second grader. We transferred to this school after my eldest had a horrible experience with our neighborhood school. I was immediately impressed with the principal and his knowledge of each child's name as we were taking a tour of the school. The current principal, has a love and passion for every child at Imagine and truly believes the "Kids at Hope" philosophy, encouraging EVERY child to dream and reach those dreams. The curriculum is superb, especially the Spalding reading program. The school is completely data driven and teachers differentiate for each individual student. Overall, I believe the more involved a parent is in their child's education, the better their experience will be. I would highly recommend all of the teachers I have worked closely with during our time at Imagine.

If you care about you child and their education DO NOT send them to this school, it's awful. My child was bullied constantly and nothing was done about it. The school wanted me to give them another chance to fix the problem but I refused and will be sending my child to another school. Your child's feelings and self -estime are important. If they are bullied severly they will not be able to concentrate and do the work correctly. My son was a straight A student until he went to this school and now I'm lucky if I can get him to do low B work. The teacher was horrible and seemed to only care about her favorite students. It's a horrible school and I wouldn"t wish it on any child.

I have two children currently enrolled in Imagine Avondale, a second grader and a Kindergartner. We have been part of the Imagine Avondale Family since 2009 and I could not be happier and content with the education that my children are receiving. It saddens me that our time with Imagine Avondale is coming to an end on the 18th of November. The only word that I can think of that would sum up this school is....AMAZING. Ms. Brown (Kinder) and Ms. Chapman (2nd Grade) are truly God sent because of all the hard work and devotion that they do on a daily basis, as is with all the Imagine Teachers. My child has gone to this school for three years. The first year was not too bad the teachers were okay. Class sizes started out small which was great. That was one of the reasons I choose Imagine was for the small class sizes. This year has just started and there are already 31+ children in my daughters class. The middle school teachers could barely teach the kids before. I am changing my daughter this year which is sad. I feel like Imagine has biten of more then the can chew.

My daughter is in 2nd grade at Imagine Elementary Avondale. This is our first year attending Imagine after a less than stellar experience at another charter school. Our family found Imagine at the recommendation of another parent whose two children attend the school. Not only is my daughter excelling academically, but she feels safe, loved and cared for at Imagine. My daughter's teacher, as well as her PE, Art and Library teachers are well-trained, knowledgeable and teach their students to love and enjoy learning. They are fair, but firm (and fun!) and always provide a positive learning environment. The office staff at Imagine is extremely helpful, and the school regularly provides parents with thorough information about events, activities, and important deadlines at school. Imagine Avondale is well-run and its students seem to be thriving -- to the credit of Principal Kim Agnew. The PTO is active and through its partnership with the school has created a school that feels more like a community than an institution. My son will be entering Kindergarten at Imagine next year, and I can hardly wait to see how he grows in Imagine's environment. I highly recommend this school!

I think this is a wonderful school with an amazing middle school team. Though they have had their ups and downs and they may not have the support of admin all the time, they do their best to make sure students are being taught what they need to know to succeed in the next grade. I don't think it is the school's fault that parents don't take an active role in their child's life and education. So for the parents who left negative review, maybe you should look at yourself before you start blaming the school. I think they do what they can with what they have and I commend all the teachers, staff and admin. I would totally recommend this school to anyone in the area.

If your child is BELOW performing then this is the perfect school for you. The principal puts on a good show but has nothing to back it up. There is no support for the teachers & even though I'm there volunteering 1-2 days a week I never know whats going on. Students who are above average are ignored unless they have "issues." My kids hate going and can't wait for summer. I DO NOT recommend this school for anyone.

My student has been going to this school from day one. He use to call himself one of the founding students of Imagine. As the school grew it lost that little something that made it extra special. The first two years I was working in the class room. This year I decided to start up my eduction. My child had a few behavior issue. Meetings was held without me knowing about them and behavior plan was set in to motion. Which I was never told. Until one day during a meeting that I requested. My child esteem has dropped . I am now look at a way he can finish the school year on a positive note. It would be unfair of me to say the school is all bad. There a are some wonderful teachers in there. My child reads way above his grade level. You just need to make sure you stay on top of whats going on. Also keep that balance of supporting your child and the school. I Pride myself on well I have kept this balance over the last 3 years. At this moment in time after a long year of poor communication I am looking to put my child into a new school. Also if there is a school event plan on getting a parking ticket because this school has issues with parking.

My son is in K. and we had done home school for half the year and then I had to go to work. So we looked at school in our area and we were not happy until we found Imagine at Avondale. His teacher has taken the extra step always and always helps my son without a second thought. I felt that she has gone out of her way and I love the entire staff there they are always willing to help.

Please beware, the principal puts on a good show, but has nothing to back it up. There is no support for the teachers, & if you not a parent who can be there daily you never know whats going on. And dont even consider this school if you have a child with special needs! I am so happy I choose to not have my children return this year. At the end of last year I posted a comment warning parents & so did another parent, within 2 wk they were both deleted, and nothing was inappropriate in either. Over the summer my children & I had to work extra hard just to get them caught up to grade level. I really believe that most of the teachers are just winging it and really have no idea in the standards. Which is just sad!
