My son attended this school for two years, and unfortunately, it was one of the most difficult experiences our family has ever faced. During his time there, we dealt with repeated bullying....... police report being filed. We also met with the principal, director, and superintendent, but despite our concerns, we never received meaningful follow-up or resolution.

As the parent of a 7-year-old autistic child, it has been heartbreaking to watch the impact this experience has had on him. He now meets with a therapist every week to help process what he went through and to rebuild his confidence that school can be a safe, positive, and enjoyable place.

Based on our experience, I cannot recommend AMS Camelback. I believe the school has serious issues with bullying, and in our case, those concerns were not addressed in an effective or supportive manner. I also found interactions with the school nurse to be unprofessional and lacking the compassion and respect that families deserve.

I plan to continue advocating for students by speaking about our experience during the upcoming school year's monthly board meetings. My hope is that sharing our story will encourage meaningful changes so that other families do not have to go through what we did.

As for my son and me, we are looking forward to a fresh start at a new school, where he can feel safe, supported, and excited to learn again.

It's been a while since there's been a review and what does that mean? THAT THINGS ARE GREAT! People only write frustrated reviews when things are bad. I'm VERY pleased with the school and the staff these past 2 years since Principle Boone came aboard. She is just what this school needed for so long. The turn over was a joke and she has shaped up this school quickly by weeded out the leniency, added structure and adheres to rules. This creates a good environment for the parents and kids. I'm also very pleased with most of the teachers. They are caring and work with the kids when they need extra help. My daughter has major health issues and I feel very safe they have a certified nurse on staff, and knows how to deal with more than just applying a bandaid. Kids now get 3 healthy choices for school lunch, something hot or a quick bite. They are a low sugar, nut free school and the kids health seems to have taken priority as well. They have lots of after school club choices for all grade levels and the school coordinates many fun family events during the school year.
Drive-line used to be a nightmare and now drop off is a breeze. Pick up could be better with someone controlling traffic as it gets backed up and takes more than 20 min to get out of the parking lot. The front office staff has changed to happy smiling faces and they are very helpful.
Overall, all of these things make this school a great place to enroll and stay. Thank you all for your commitment to teaching our kiddos and all your hard work.

The school has a lot of bad things but also some good things. I say this because we have some of the worst lunch, worst bathrooms, and worst people. The lunch is so bad and even sometimes expired. I'd rather not even eat here because if i did i would get some disease. For example, a month ago, i got a quesadilla and it had chicken written on it with marker.Even though it had chicken written on it, it had no chicken. We also opened the quesadilla and the cheese was as hard as a rock.There has also been other expired things like milk, meat, beans, bread, etc. This shows that the schools lunch is just torture to the students.

This school has some of the worst bathrooms. There has been dirty bathrooms and i have even seen cockroaches. The bathroom needs maintanence 90 percent of the time and everything in them is broken. In the mens bathroom there is no dividers and no working doors. The toilets are usually dirty and the toilet is even tilted. There is also not even a door leading to the bathroom which invades the privacy of students. There is also water problems from time to time. Speaking of water, the water filters at this school are usually red which indicates it is not reccomended to drink.This makes the students not want to use the bathroom and that can lead to health issues.

There is some of the worst people here too. You can find many racist people and many troublemakers. There are many people that vandalize and cause disruptions. The students aren't the only problem here, there is also bad teachers. Last year at AMS, there was a bad teacher that didnt even teach us and sat around on her phone and she was even absent 50 percent of the time. This is all written by a guy that has been here for 8 years (since the school opened) so it is a pretty reliable source.In conclusion, this school needs a lot of improvement

This will be my daughters second year at AMS she is in the 4th grade. We love how the school has many ways of communicating with the parents. You know how your kids are doing in the classroom. They have an app where you can see your kids grades and communicate with the teachers. I love all the teachers and staff. A plus that they also have before and after care available you do pay but it's a good price. I also like that they have lots of clubs for the kids to join. They have school events to make it feel like a community. I love that they wear a uniform I don't have to think of what she has to wear every day. I think the only thing is the number of kids in each class per teacher is a bit high. But over all its a great school.
Everyone I have come across thus far are amazing I apricate everyone at AMS.

Its a good school but staff is just terrible. They are so rude, might just pull my kids out because it is ridiculous the way they treat us parents I cant imagine how they treat our kids. Either get human beings with feelings or at least advise them not to be so rude.

AMS CAMELBACK has met and exceeded my expectations. In 2020 my daughter was to start kindergarten but the pandemic hit. The online classes where good and the teachers very efficient. Now she gets to attend the 1st grade in person. I have gone a few times to campus for different reasons (picture day, movie night etc.) the front office staff have always been cordial and helpful. All the staff I have encountered has truly made me feel confident that this school was the beat choice for us.

I have been happy with the Camelback campus until now. Why have some teachers targeted the white students by telling them they are all racist? This is wrong. This will teach the children to hate each other now as well as into adulthood. Stop this before the hate base brain washing becomes a reality. Black lives matter does not belong in our schools nor does the black lives matter stickers etc., on any teachers equipment visible for the students to see.

These schools do not have any nurses or security guards. They school is not invested in your child's education they just want a higher rank to get more money that the students never see invested in the school. The textbooks and materials that the school provides are not good. Your child will get a better education at a regular public school. The grade groups are separated into an A and B group where the B group is told that they are the "dumb group" which is simply ridiculous! The hours are too long and the course work is simply too hard for the students. They demand a lot from them, the higher the test scores they more money they get. The students do not learn they just get over worked and tired. I write this review as a former teacher. I would not take my kids to this school, public schools are better than this.

Estas escuelas no tiene enfermería o seguridad como las escuelas publicas. A los encargados tampoco les importa la educación de los estudiantes. Solamente les important que la escuela tengan una reputación buena para conseguir mas dinero. Los niños tendrían mejor educación en una escuela publica. Los horarios son muy largos y separan a los niños en dos groups; el grupo A y el grupo B. A los del grupo B les dicen que son los niños "tontos". Se los dijo por que yo trabajaba en esa escuela. Las horas son muy largas y exigen mucho a los niños, el trabajo es muy difícil para ellos domas los confunden y no los ayudan.

The school so far has been great. My son is about to end kindergarten and is able to read and add and subtract; the academic level is really good. The teacher (Ms. Earving) has been great and al the staff that I have met have been really nice and helpful. My son has learned a lot and he loves his teacher and his school. The principal is always open to receive comments and willing to improve.

I take my girl to AMC camelback with Ms. Ortiz-Cortez she's really respectful and my girl enjoys being in her class. all I can say it's I love this school I will continue taking my kid here and my little one. For kindergarten I take my son to another school and I was really unhappy with the staff because they were really rude with the students and I decided to go and check AMS Camelback and since I enter the door I notice a big difference so I decided to change him here and we are really happy! much friendly staff here. My kids love going to the academy of math and science Camelback. Ms. Erving is an awesome kindergarten teacher she goes above and beyond what is needed. She treats your children like her own. I would definitely recommend this school to others.

My boys David and Adan love Academy Of Math Science School. They say they never want to change schools. They love their teachers Ms. Chesney and Mrs. Ortiz- Cortez. I love that they offer class dojo to connect with the teachers though out the day. To see how the students are doing and to communicate with teachers. The staff are friendly.

Ams is an amazing school. The staff are the reason it is so great. They are all so encouraging and understanding and make sure the students are cared for they put them first in everything they do. Being a mother of a kindergartener for the first time I was so scared but my son's teacher gave me the peace in my heart to know he was going to be cared for and loved. Ms. Erving cares for her students as if they were her own. My son loves her so much and his classmates. He loves his school. I couldn't have asked for a better teacher for my son. I love this school, my daughter's teacher Miss Lopez is always available when necessary and is always finding ways to motivate her students in such a fun loving way. I absolutely love AMS-Camelback, my child started Kinder last year, I was extremely uneasy because she had never been to pre-k or child care. She loved her teacher Ms. Erving from day one. I can't believe all that she has learned in such a short time, Yes sometimes it might seem the staff is a bit unorganized, but hey it's impossible to have it all, and it's not a deal breaker. I recommend the school 100%.

The school has a program that is called ZAP which they check HW every day that makes sure that if they don't do their homework they have to stay 1 hour after school if they have not done their HW.

This school is on top of everything and they think ahead of most of the time...They all think of the students before they do of them self. I am a student here and i am glad i came because at my old school Bulling was greatly bad!!!! (Bicentennial North) there was a lot of drama and bulling toward how the way that people are wand what they like.... At the beginning of 2016-2017 school year i did have some probelems with bulling but the principal took action and the level of bulling went from 75 to 3 or less percent. If you are thinking about enrolling you should because the staff and all the teachers put students before anything and all they do is for them. I can assure you that when you come here you wont feel like the teachers are teachers, they feel like friends and family because you can trust one another and you can assure that you will feel loved and liked by everyone...

My daughter started there halfway through her kindergarten year. I was concerned that she would struggle. However, everyone was there to help her not only meet but exceed standard. They raise the bar and help the students reach their full potential. I am happy to have a child starting in the fall, and hopefully my son in two years. They are a big part of my family's village.

We had my granddaughter there for one semester and pulled her this school is terrible. It's pretty sad that the teachers can't get these kids under control and the teacher walks out crying. Theymissed time on their state test because the teacher couldn't calm the kids down. 7th grade math teacher doesn't even teach them she turns around shows them two problems and says you're on your own. Then there's a teacher there the kids call Miss proactive because she's always telling them to be proactive so yeah we were really proactive in pulling my granddaughter out to put her in a school that's got higher math scores than this one does. There's girls fighting in the bathrooms playing around on their phones during class they have no control over these kids whatsoever. There pick up process sucks they're pulling kids by their arms to get them to the cars faster it's a terrible terrible School. My granddaughter learn more at bicentennial then she ever did in this one. Not only did we pull her but both of my neighbors are pulling their kids because it's so bad. Don't send your kids there find a different School

Academy of Math and Science has changed my life. the school is a great school. It really impacted me because i used to be a trouble maker until i went to the school. I would always get in trouble and never do work but that all changed when i went to the school because it really taut me how to listen to respect and to get my work done and to appreciate every single teacher,student,etc. im proud that i will be the first to graduate from Academy of Math and Science because i respect every single thing i have done in the school. All the people who need to find a new school go to Academy of Math and Science school would have Piano,Chinese, and of course the four normal subjects (math,science,language arts,and social-studies).The school has been a major step for me i have always been a true fire-bird because i really love the school and i hope all of you could to thank you

My children were behind in every subject when we enrolled them in A.M.S. and now they are right up with everyone else! We love the teachers and staff so much, they feel like family!!! We had a bumpy start, but with a brand new school we figured there would be a few issues. I am amazed how our beautiful and amazing Principal, Mrs Yarbrough was dropped in the middle of some others messes and was able to get this place humming! I highly recommend this school to anyone!!!!!!

My kid loves third grade with Miss Bossert. She is a wonderful teacher who works really hard with her students. She is an assett to our school and I can tell she works one on one with her students to make sure they are learning every day! AMSC goes over and beyond for these students! The children are safe and desire to learn. They also include the families in everything they do. AMSC is more then just a school it's a family. Ms. Murrell is such a great teacher I followed her to this school and I drive 30 mins out the way so my daughter has her as a teacher. She brings the curriculum to LIFE! Amazing School they love each and every student!

Debbie Yarbrough is the best principal I have ever worked for! Her door is always open and she is the most solution-based administrator I have ever worked for. She is welcoming and very helpful whenever you need her! She keeps it positive even when there are days when it is difficult to.

This school might have had a few problems at the start of the school year but has come a long way since then. Keep in mind this is a brand new school almost built from the ground up. Things are changing for the better and everything is coming along. I am excited to be a part of the this amazing school as a parent. My daughter is in kindergarten and she loves it! She already sings songs in Russian!!! Her teacher Ms. Worsley is the best. She is very good with the kids. I can't wait to see what this year will bring. Go AMSC!!

While this school is beautiful, that is about the only thing going for it. There is a lack of experienced teachers, textbooks, curriculum and support. There was an incident recently where a fourth and fifth grader got into an fight until one was left unconscious. Where was the supervision?
