AMS Desert Sky talks a great philosophy about teaching the whole child and selling that to employees, students, and teachers.
The power structure is unbalanced and they do not want to take the time to address issues that arise in a classroom setting. Also, the administration frankly told me they did not have time to deal with any employees concerns that are internal. I was shocked by the was AMS Desert Sky lead their staff and students in a direction that will not get them out of academic failure/grade level D school. Parents check throughly before enrolling your children. They do not receive an education that is fair and equitable.

My son has currently been in this school since Aug 2023 , 4th grade and since has had consistent issues with kids bullying, staff not providing enough lunch for all kids at times he will come home not having eaten lunch because they ran out, their ability to resolve or address any issues Ive had with staff and just getting ahold of the school and calling 20+ times before someone answers or being told to ask to be transferred if not available. They pay for most things like dress down day , is now $3 instead of $1. Festivals, being included in some spirit days etc. No one takes accountability and they are constantly having substitute teachers. I would not recommend and will be withdrawing after the end of the year.

The Academies of Math & Science fully comply with the requirements of Part B of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). We provide meaningful participation for every student with disabilities in the general education under our inclusion model. The inclusion of SPED students in our full academic program is facilitated through direct services, consultation, and support offered by Special Education support staff.
