Since the school is against the first amendment I thought I would share my story with this HORRIBLE school. The school will hire anyone to drive our kids. My daughter takes the Scorpion bus and the drive is always late. Whether she is picking up and dropping off. She had the nerve to ask that my child and I wait for her in the middle of the road with traffic coming from both directions. She said that we are not ready when she arrives which is a LIE. The school COVERS for her lateness. Obviously the well being of the students in her care is non existent and this SHOULD reflects badly on the school. I would not recommend this school, this bus, or this district. They don't understand freedom of speech. It is verbal or physically so I'm here to remind them. So if you have the ability to take your kids to a different school do it! Don't chance your child failing because the people in charge don't have a clue.

Our experience at this school was unfortunately not positive. Throughout the year, the school consistently asked parents for additional money through a wide variety of “activities,” yet I did not see any of those funds being used to benefit the students directly. My child was in kindergarten and made very minimal academic progress during the year.

The teachers frequently stated that homework or learning materials would be sent home, but it rarely happened—even with repeated reminders. No educational resources or support were provided to help families reinforce learning at home.

Basic needs were also an issue. Snacks were only given if donated by parents or purchased with additional money. For the cost of attending, I expected at least some basic support for the students’ day-to-day needs.

The organization of pick-up and drop-off was extremely poor. Construction took place during the busiest times of the school year, and instead of offering clear direction, staff often shouted at parents due to the school’s own disorganization. This made the process stressful and confusing.

There were also concerning incidents with how student lunches were handled. On more than one occasion, my child’s homemade lunch—cultural food—was thrown out without my consent because staff claimed it “smelled bad” or was “not good enough,” yet the school did not provide a replacement meal unless I personally came to bring one. This felt disrespectful and inappropriate.

Throughout the year, there were constant teacher and classroom changes, which made it difficult for students to maintain stability. Despite concerns about my child’s progress, no parent-teacher conferences were made available, even after multiple requests.

Our experience with the Head Start program was even worse. For $400 a month for only about 7 hours of care a week, nothing was provided—no snacks, no lunch, no age-appropriate activities. Every activity required an additional fee. The teacher and office staff often came across as snobby and judgmental, and communication was poor. Again, none of the monthly fees appeared to go toward student resources or learning materials.

Overall, I cannot recommend this school based on our experience. I hope sharing this helps other parents make an informed decision and encourages improvements for future students.

My kindergartner learned so much at this school. He’s an African American and I was afraid there wouldn’t be diversity here but he feels welcomed. The classrooms are overcrowded for sure (25 students in his class) but they have an assistant teacher as well. I wish there were smaller classes but that seems to be a problem everywhere in AZ’s public schools.

I love that students with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, and so on are treated as everyone else.

When your 4th grader talks about killing himself because he is bullied so much I think you have the answer to this question. Not only is verbal abuse ignored, if you physically harm a student you’ll be back in class the same day rubbing it in the face of the victim that You can get away with anything.

While they have award ceremonies and do work to honor and reward students, the bullying atmosphere of this school is out of control.

My son has a packet every week and he usually has it done by Tuesday. My daughter almost never has homework. Both work for me, I don’t believe my children should have to give up home life for more school work.

There are great teachers here without a doubt, there are also awful teachers here. The bullying atmosphere has extended to the teachers. It’s a huge shame the teacher like to talk about students, participate in “roasting” the students, and feel humiliation is a positive form of punishment.

We have been actively searching to move so my children no longer have to go to this school. If you raise your children o be kind this is not the school for them. Kindness doesn’t exist here and if it does they will kill it as fast as they can. Communication with parents is non existent and if your child is physically assaulted please do yourself a favor and call the cops. The school will not do anything. I know this school has a lot of hard working families, most have both parents working. I know suspension would be hard on those working parents but maybe if the consequences were actually consequences these kids would think twice before putting hands on another student.

I had a bad Experience working at the school. Principal does not support his teachers And if you ask him a question it's an inconvenience. Principal expect teachers to know everything and don't want to teach teachers the basics expectations.

Principal does not have an open door policy. he does not support his teachers and will terminate a teacher because another teacher complained about Him or her.

It seems the 2nd grade staff have little desire to make a difference & are just wanting to get through the days/weeks. Administration doesn't do anything about the fact that each of our children have had a miserable 2nd grade experience.
We pulled our girls out of Littleton before it was too late. They had been in the "top of their class" at Littleton, and were at the bottom 5% at the new school. Good thing that Imagine Avondale have qualified teachers who actually want to make a difference... They pulled the girls up to straight "A's," "Student of the Month," etc.

My family has escaped the Littleton district but every so often I check up on Great Schools to see how districts in the area are doing. Please take my for word for it and DO NOT put your children in this district. Yes, real estate is cheaper in the area and let me assure you, you get what you pay for! I was told my child was beyond help and couldn't learn by the psychologist at Littleton (this was after his teacher told me he was doing well, then changed her mind a day later and agreed with the psychologist). They suggested my autistic son be placed in Life Skills at age 4! His therapist and developmental pediatrician were appalled and disagreed completely. As I mentioned, we have since moved and my son is flourishing and learning new skills every single day in a positive environment now. Getting out of that horrible district was one of the best decisions we have ever made for our family. The teachers and staff at Littleton are lazy bottom feeders. Please do not sell your kids short by placing them in this school or district.

Looks like the AIMS scores went down compared to the previous year. You can see all the score on this website and look at the grade level or the grade your child is in. Please go talk to your teacher if the scores have fallen. From what I can see, it looks pretty bad.

My daughter is now a senior at an accelerated school. She went to Littleton from grade 4-8. The teachers she had where great teachers, they encouraged her to excel, and she was accepted into University High.

I have been attended this school since I was in kindergarten. I just promoted June 12 I am now a freshman. My years in Littleton were amazing !!! Everybody was just so happy about everything. The teachers wow they are so much fun and each and everyone of them has their own way of teaching . Littleton sports not that great :/ ! But Hey ! We had a ton of fun playing sports This school is just simply amazing trust me your child will love it !!!

We're considering homeschooling our children if we cannot get them into another district on a variance or sell our house and move to another district. Yes, that's correct- we are willing to move just to avoid sending our children to this awful district. The teachers are apathetic, the curriculum is lacking and the geniuses (note the sarcasm) in administration extended the school year thinking that would actually improve things somehow. The school year starts in JULY. It's ridiculous. Why not take a look at better districts in the valley (such as Peoria or Kyrene or one of the many others which are WAY ahead of Littleton) and model changes after those obviously successful programs?! I also suspect that one of the positive reviews here was written by teacher at Littleton. A neighbor who's had more experience with this teacher thought the same. It's sad that the teachers and administration have to stoop so low to try to save the school's reputation. Get off GreatSchools.org and try to be BETTER at your jobs!

In reviewing AIMS scores from 2012 to 2013, students grew in 8 out of 12 areas in 3rd - 8th grade reading and math. The average scores are below state averages, but have steadily caught up the last 5 years. Our kids are making excellent progress and we are so proud of them!

My child has attended this school since second grade, upon entering the 6th grade this year we had the option to move him to another school in the district and he wanted to stay here! I truly believe this is due in part because of the new administration and how awesome they are! The PTA is also rocking it this year, from a fun fall festival to fundraising to help the students, this has been a great year! The 6th grade team of teachers is awesome! My child has never shown such a high interest in school, all 3 ladies are fabulous! We do need more parent support, so hopefully with the leaps and bounds in changes more will get involved! Keep up the great work LE teachers, admins, PTA and students! I love all the opportunity the school presents to encourage the parents to be involved in their child's education.
