The Preschool is not great. They are unable to stimulate students, and my son is bored at the school. IN the upper preschool 3 years and up the child to student ratio is high 12 to 1 ratio. Its also misleading because I thought there were 2 teachers per class as they claimed, however, the TA is shared with another teacher and comes during nap time to relieve the main teacher. Director is not a clear communicator and is wasn't willing to work with my son or provide any additional support. They tend to label children. They do a great job at building a community feeling, however if you have a child that is not perfect this is not a school who will accommodate.

Highly recommend CHA preschool. My daughter attended preschool for four years and we were consistently very impressed with the school. All of the teachers really care and give their students so much love and attention. The holidays are extra special seeing kids really learn and love to celebrate, especially the Passover model Seder and Hanukkah show. I love the Montessori light approach with rug jobs and table jobs. Love that the kids practice yoga. My student felt challenged and supported to grow and thrive. When I had a concern I spoke up. I always felt heard and supported. Thank you especially to Ms Anita, Morah Mairav, Morah Sylvia, Ms Cici, Ms Palomita, Ms Primm, Morah Divi and Stephanie. We love CHA preschool!

Our experience at CHA with our two preschoolers has been amazing. From day one, it was clear that the teachers truly care. They create such a warm, safe environment where our kids actually come home excited about what theyve learned. We love how much the school focuses on their social and emotional growth, which is so important at this age. Weve always felt welcomed and involved as parents. Its a blessing to know our kids are in a place that is as supportive and inclusive as it is fun for them.

Amazing school if you attend the elementary.. the Preschool on the other side is very disappointing .. not willing to work with children that learn different and have a reputation for labeling children

The preschool has very poor communication with parents. They do not let you know about your childs day (eat, nap, bathroom, incidents, etc.). The school has cliques and will treat you like an outcast if youre not a part of one of them. Overpriced considering the very short hours they are opened and many holidays they are closed. My experience was it was all about the money and not about the children. Also made my one year old get COVID test monthly, which I felt was a bit invasive for a child so small, especially considering the teachers did not wear masks half the time. They would also send my child have with injuries very frequently.

We send our daughter to CHA. She entered into 1st grade this year. Weve been paying close attention to how San Diego is handling the reopening of schools and can confidently say CHA did everything right.
CHA was one of the few schools diligent enough to get clearance to open. From what I hear, this was no small accomplishment.
This type of excellence is exactly why we send our daughter to this school. The community behind CHA I can only describe as one of the best communities in America. Its really an honor if your child gets to attend CHA.

Id like to specifically recognize Rabbi Fradkin and the Fradkin family for their superb leadership. They are an excellent example of honor and integrity for all others.

We absolutely love CHA! Our children are loved and cared for and receive the most incredible Judaic and secular education! We are so thrilled with the level of nurturing and devotion from their teachers and the entire staff. We are so happy to be part of the CHA family and highly recommend the school for all San Diego families.

We are so incredibly grateful to have our children (2nd grade and Kinder) attending CHA! The inclusive spirit and sense of Jewish pride permeates from the very moment the students arrive in the morning and extends through its superb staff and academics. Judaic and Secular teachers work together to create complimenting curriculums and the students are challenged, recognized and encouraged to go beyond for themselves and our community. The teachers focus on the whole child to see out their academic, emotional and social betterment. We have been parents at CHA for 6 years now and each year has proven to get better and better as the staff and administration is always learning, training and implementing new and innovative methods and programs. Our children love going to school each day and the whole campus feel is always warm, joyful and positive all around.

CHA is phenomenal! The moment my husband and I walked through CHA with Shelly we knew this was the place for our daughter. I had heard so many good things about CHA I had to check it out myself. Being of Non- Jewish descent, I wasnt sure how we were going to be accepted. We were instantly welcomed and made to feel welcome. My daughter is in her first year of school and I am very impressed with what CHA has to offer! The student:teacher ratio is amazing! My daughter and her fellow peers get a lot of personalized attention, because the student:teacher ratio is so low. She can learn and excel at a faster rate, because the teachers have more time to invest into each student. Another observation I have made is that the teachers dont just jump into the academic side of teaching. They first take the time to teach your child the behaviors of How to Learn. They teach them how to sit patiently and focus in order to be able to take in what is being taught for their lesson that day. Another thing that I have observed is that the teachers also pay attention to peer interactions as to ensure a safe and optimal learning environment. This school is not only amazing, because of the students and teachers, but it is amazing as a whole community. There is a fun upbeat atmosphere as you are entering the school grounds with lively music and one of the staff members greeting you everyday with a genuine smile. The entirety of the staff are invested into your child and so are the parents that are involved with extracurricular activities such as the PTO. I really cant say enough good things about CHA. If you want your child to be taught academics and how to be an all around good person in society I highly recommend CHA.

Chabad Hebrew Academy is amazing! We moved our family from NorCal to SoCal just so that our kids could attend such a beautiful Jewish day school. CHA has excellent secular studies and excellent Judaic studies. Also both the faculty and the administration are truly outstanding and welcoming. These guys are not only dedicated but also very good at what they do. The campus is quite spacious and well-designed too! Impressive! We love it!!

My daughter has been going there for three years. Each year, I'm impressed by her teachers - each grade has a team of two, one for general studies, and one for religious - and can't imagine how the school can improve upon the teaching staff. Yet they do! In addition to caring and dynamic teachers, the kids are supported by a team of specialty instructors in sciences, reading, language arts and more. This community is accepting of you regardless of level of religious observation, but all the kids benefit from the character building that comes from the Judaic curriculum. Active parents and inter classroom activities ensure a warm and welcoming community for the children. If you are seeking outstanding academics with heart, CHA is it.

I love this school! My kids have been there since preschool and kindergarten and we came for a visit and couldn't bear to leave! Secular studies unbelievable - WASC accredited - gorgeous campus and Judaics that teach your child to think and question and be a kind loving human being - and we have made lifelong friends.

Just before my son was 12 weeks old, a friend in our playgroup recommended CHA's infant program. I told her that we are not so religious and are reform, so it wasn't for us. She said that's ok - it's open to everyone and is a very loving environment on a beautiful campus. I took a tour and saw that she was right - caregivers, teachers, and administrators are of different religious backgrounds and cultures, and the school (from infant through 8th grade) is on a beautiful and modern campus in woodsy Scripps Ranch (they recently installed solar power).
Nearly 5 years later, our son is about to graduate from CHA's Montessori preschool and is very ready for kindergarten both in terms of academics and maturity even though he won't turn 5 until July. When I've attended the parents' nights each year, I've been blown away by what preschoolers there are learning - not only math, etc, in a project oriented environment but also life skills like sewing, cleaning up, and hands-on "jobs." His teachers have been remarkable - loving and nurturing, and he has really loved them. At age 2.5, he came home singing the hebrew alphabet, and knows words, songs, prayers and all about the holidays- things I didn't begin learning until I began Sunday school at my son's current age. Many of his teachers are from different countries as well as many of his classmates' parents, and many speak hebrew and other languages.
Initially I was concerned that the school would be too religious for us. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the welcoming culture that is Chabad with no pressure to participate in anything more than we wanted to. We attended a few services and some activities at school and still participated at other congregations. We've made great friends with other CHA parents and absolutely love the sense of community there from people of various types of jewish backgrounds. I strongly recommend the incredible preschool at CHA.
A heartfelt thank you to CHA's amazing teachers and staff - Morah Esther, Ms. Anita, Morah Sylvia, Morah Keren, Ms. DiCarlo, Ms. Cindee and many more at CHA!

After researching all the Jewish schools in San Diego we arrived at Chabad Hebrew Academy and never looked back. It was an easy decision- after we toured the school met with the staff , some parents, and reviewed their top notch academics.
It's more than just a school - It is our home away from home. We wouldn't send our children ANYWHERE else!!!

I am now going into my junior year in high school and want to thank all of my CHA teachers and the whole CHA family for preparing me so well. I entered HS at a 10th grade AP level having taken many of the course requirements in MS. Thank you Ms. Stanley! HS has been a breeze despite taking all AP's after being through what Mr. Z called RIGOR.

Amazing school faculty staff and administration. Nothing is too large or small to ask for. You are always greeted with a smile! The academics is very rigorous both my children no matter their levels were challenged! Thanks for an amazing school year last year and looking forward to an amazing year this year!

Rigorous academics, awesome teachers, 1/2 day is religious, more emphasis on the arts and less on religion. Religion should be moderate. Kids need balance in every aspect. Need effective counseling, options to explore dance, music, cultures, art, theater, spanish, technology, singing, etc. more time for recess and less in religion. Exposure to homeless, all races and religions, etc.

Excellent teachers, great school leadership, VERY customer friendly - the administration and teachers treat parents and students as partners toward bringing about success for each student not adversaries- rigorous academics, great athletics program, music, arts, SCIENCE, Experiential education, values and character education, and students get into the best high school programs going directly into AP classes and honors programs. Bottom line the school cares and will do everything possible for the success of my child.

Wow, let me just say, CHA is an amazing gem of a school that my kids adore coming to every day. The teachers are brilliant, the education, values, life skills and private school extras are all top class. I am heavily involved with a cross section of moms and families at CHA and know for certain that not a single family has left in the past few years due to financial assistance even after both parents have lost jobs. The school takes extra care that kids come first, tuition concerns far afterward. I receive significant tuition assistance and went through a professional yet caring and equitable process. The school was only too willing to take into consideration any of our additional financial concerns and made the process smooth, painless and most importantly with our dignity intact. We are always made to feel as if we are the most important family there and no one other than the tuition assistance coordinator who works with an outside company called PSAS knows anything otherwise. The school has gone through great effort to ensure that it is not only for the elite but all are welcome and they put their money where their mouth is. My friends have all shared similar experiences.

We've been at CHA for over 3 years now having come from top east coast private schools beforehand (full disclosure: I sat on the board of one.) Multiple friends of ours are in other local private or jewish day schools and we've gained a fairly extensive understanding of the varying quality and programming of education offerings in the region. Unreservedly, we can share that CHA has one key component that is unique to them, bar none. Of course we expect brilliant academics, tolerant Jewish values and balanced extra curricular offerings. As well as great teachers, nurturing environment, individualized and advanced course work, college prep, long lasting relationships, cutting edge campus, great leadership and a diverse student body. CHA gets a check for each of these factors. The one factor that makes it truly unique is the overall school culture of a commitment to constantly learn, grow and improve. This culture is not just at the top but all the way through teachers, students and staff. Kudos for role modeling life-long learning for our children!

What more can I say - Kids, love learning, teachers are passionate about educating, and while everyone else is cutting arts, sports and science my kids school is expanding these important programs to unprecedented levels! We love CHA!!
