We’ve had a very disappointing experience at Don Juan Middle School. One of the biggest concerns has been a teacher who has repeatedly publicly shamed our daughter in class. This has had a clear negative impact on her confidence and willingness to participate. In addition, there appears to be noticeable favoritism toward certain students, which only adds to an already uncomfortable environment.

Equally frustrating is the lack of communication and support from other staff. When we’ve reached out to teachers asking how we can better support our daughter, many emails have gone unanswered. As a parent, it’s incredibly discouraging to feel ignored when trying to be proactive and involved.

At one point, our daughter even created a PowerPoint presentation explaining why she felt she would be better off being homeschooled. That should have been a clear signal that something was wrong, yet it didn’t seem to prompt any meaningful response or concern from the school.

Overall, the lack of accountability, communication, and student support has been disappointing. We expected a more supportive and engaged environment, especially during such an important stage in a child’s development.

Over populated, low quality teachers, principals too overwhelmed to address anything.

I have sent my child to Don Juan Avilla for the past two years. There are a number of issues surrounding the quality of the teaching, the equitability and the academic support.

Due to the fact that teachers would only give complete or none complete grades in their classes without making sure that they explained the purpose and content of the homeworks to their students, I was forced to check my daughter's homework every day and night.

This is and amazing school and I recommend it to all of you kids. I am a current student her and all of the teachers are so helpful and positive. The punishments are very reasonable. They have a great system to keep it bully free. It is clean with amazing cafeteria food.

As an 8th Grader leaving for high school, I believe this school has taught me well. The teachers are good, bullying is usually only verbal at this school, which is easily fixed. Overall, I have had a great time here.

I've had two children go through DJAMS 6-8th grade. Our experience has been nothing but positive. DJAMS has great leadership and several exceptional teachers. Both of my kids were in accelerated classes, and I feel they were challenged and prepared to be successful in high school.

DJams i s an awesome school. My child attends DJams for since 6th grade. She is now an 8th grader. She has been on the honor roll for about 2years now including this year. The teacher are awesome and the staff is wonderful and attentive. Djams is an very challenging school and the work is advance, but the teachers do take the time to help the child if they are falling behind. I love the clean and safe enviroment that Djams provide. Djams is an API score is 900 and as won the best scoring school in English and Math in the district. The admistrative staff and the teacher are doing a great job. My daughter really loves this school and will be sad to go at the end of the schoo year because she is going to high school. Please do not believe the bad review below.
