This is a really rough school. My kid got punched in the face and also got her hair pulled in the first month of school. If you want your kid to be safe, I do not recommend going to this school. There are way better schools than this, and this is not the place to bring your kid. My daughter does not feel safe there.

Do not send your children to this school. It lacks strong leadership. The administrator seems not to have common sense or the ability to reason logically. For instant, I had to call the district for the staff to wear headsets to communicate. My son along with 9 other kids were missing and they didn’t have any means to communicate. When I spoke the administrator, about my son missing, she began telling me about the policy. I asked her to get on the walkie talkie or cell phone to let her staff know and she kept trying to tell me about policy. She has low emotional intelligence as she is unable to read a situation and lacks the ability to problem solve as the district had to step in. Thankfully, I found my son. Additionally, other parents have shared there is a real bullying issue that the administrator nor teachers resolve. They seem to ignore the issues.

My son (1st grade) loves his teacher. He is super shy and has some special needs and she has been very receptive to my input and has worked to help my son do well. Unfortunately there are things with this school that concern me as he continues his education. I have noticed some issues with how the school is run and how problems are dealt with. I am concerned with playground management (kids bully each other and are not held accountable), and how kids are assigned to classrooms. Sometimes moving kids from one teacher to another when there are issues is actually a good solution, however the principle does not seem to consider this as an option. She also does not answer emails or address concerns in a timely manner.

Some of them are very effective, some or worthless and some are just average. This year, my son has a teacher that at least listens to parents. However, I have seen the teachers who will teach him in the future and have concerns.

Current research shows that homework in elementary school is not beneficial to the student. Reading is what kids needs to do at this stage however, this school continues to give too much homework.

Students are not held accountable. Students watch as teachers and staff ignore issues and kids live out what they learn.

My son transferred to this school and it's been a terrible experience. There are 29 students in his classroom and the teacher can not control them. The learning environment is non-existent because the classroom management has failed. When I have been in the room, students have talked, walked around the classroom, kicked each other, passed notes and totally ignored what the teacher asked of them. Worst of all - there were zero consequences for this behavior.

It all depends on individual teachers. My kids for past two years had some amazing teachers however most of them are not academically qualified. I wish i could include names

My child has been a bully victim for over a month now. The child who is responsible is being protected whereas my child is dearly suffering it.

Well, where do I start. One of the worst school in the district. Only a few teachers meet academic standard. I don't understand where they are getting or hiring their faculty and staff members. Office staff including the principal, they are there just to collect the paychecks and go home. I hope superiors from district office are reading these important reviews because they are on here for a reason. Just an heads up the parents, when your child is a bully victim please don't have faith at the faculty or staff because they careless.

This is the great school for my kids. Both of my kids have wonderful teachers, though I haven't heard anything negative about other teachers as well. This school has many effective plans. The principal is an amazing, well-experienced woman. She effectively work for the programs. This school has just started sports programs for the students and that's the powerful thing; I believe. It has some educational programs as well. So this school provides everything we expect for our kids.

I believe the good comments posted on here are mostly from the administrators and teachers. Natomas Park Elementary School is the most unorganized school I have ever witnessed. My son has not had a stable teacher since he began the 6th grade school year. Somehow my son received a report card from a teacher who was on sick leave for months prior. I tried contacting the principal three times to have my son moved to another class, but she never returned any of my phone calls. I am certain that my son will not be prepared for the 7th grade and it is entirely because of this terrible school.

We came from India last month and was very much worried about my son's studies here. However, the teaching @Natomas Park Elementary school is very good. His teacher is very co-operative and assessed his very well on his first day of school. Like the school very much. But, still wonder why its not able to get good API scores compared to the Charter schools.

I am not impressed with the school, My son's teacher is lazy and unorganized, I never know what's going on in his class, and she doesn't even know who my son is or where he is half the time. This school is unfriendly and unorganized not impressed, and my son will not be attending this school next year.

Natomas Park has a few excellent teachers, however, the staff is unfriendly and could care less about the organization of the school. Teachers have their picks of student's that get more time than others and the office spends more time socializing instead of assisting student/parents. The principal is friendly, yet seems to lack experience and the capacity to be a leader.

Natomas Park Elementary is a very great school. This school has a lot of parent involvement and has a great sense of community. I love the diversity of this school and the open school campus.

My son is in Natomas Park Elementary since kindergarten . The teachers are very nice. My son is in GATE program now and I can see a lot difference in his learning. I think NPE is a very good school in this area.

Natomas Park Elementary has made great strides in improving their curriculum. They recognize that children learn at different levels. They have excellent programs like WIN (What I Need), GATE, computer lab and other opportunities for the children to excel. The teachers are wonderful, personable, and open to communication and working with parents. The principal, Kendra Shelton, is an absolute gem. Her weekly phone/email communications are a refreshing and positive change to keeping parents informed on upcoming events and school-related happenings. And Safety is Number One on their list. I have 2 children at Natomas Park Elementary. I'll be honest, I was a little concerned at first when we enrolled because of the somewhat low API scores, but when you see the great results in your child's learning and abilities, you know this is a great school (not to mention the 21 point increase in API last year, woo hoo). I'm disappointed they don't integrate art or PE in their program, but this means they truly are focused on my child's learning. However, they do offer extracurricular activities and programs such as these.
