This school is phenomenal. The kids here are nice and are usually on task. The teachers here are AMAZING. They are friendly, funny, and are always willing to help.

If your child experiences anything at the school that requires the intervention of administration, and or the principal I recommend that you just leave the school entirely. I realize this is not a popular approach, but if you leave your child in this trash dump of the school, who is actually suffering?
I personally witnessed a teacher bullying my (straight As, citizen of the month, honor roll etc so not a disciplinary problem) student. I sent the principal a polite email asking that he address the situation. He instead chose to believe the teacher's lies and defended the teacher.
There are a couple teachers who are bright spots, so the entire school is not trash. However, this is very similar to any corporation where there are a couple great employees who are surrounded by incompetent management who knows nothing and the employees can't wait to get out. The difference is that your child cannot decide to quit and leave.

A horrifying school rife with racism, misogyny, favoritism, and elitism. Entitlement reigns high and bullying is rampant. Most teachers live in Ladera Ranch and give preferential treatment to the students of their Ladera friends. Glaring lack of diversity. Same families over and over again receive awards. If you want a shot, join ASB, wear expensive trendy clothes, and become popular by shaming poor, ethnic, or divergent thinking kids. Cliques, exclusion, and harassment happen on the daily. This is not a place that fosters goodwill, empathy, or critical thinking.

My daughter started 7th grade here and had a wonderful year. The kids at this school have been so nice to her. The teachers are very supportive and she has nothing but a great experience.

This school is the embodiment of everything that is toxic, pretentious, egotistical, and flat out rude. The kids are very mean, especially towards kids who are already having a rough time with friends or popularity. As a former student, I strongly suggest sending your child elsewhere. It is not worth the possible mental trauma your child might suffer from. Seriously. Please dont send your child here.

The teachers can be quite mean, and a lot of them dont know what theyre teaching, or they cant teach properly, which means you might end up doing the homework wrong in the first place.
Posted: May 25, 2018
The people there are mean, ruthless, and toxic. It is a very selfish community of people, including the teachers. They dont really care about what they are teaching, or who they are teaching.
Posted: May 25, 2018
Im not sure if the people at this school know what compassion means. The is an immense amount of bullying, and the people at this school are disturbingly unempathetic.
Posted: May 25, 2018
There isnt a strong sense of good leadership, but rather, chaos and bias.
Posted: May 25, 2018
The teachers at this school cant teach students in general, let alone kids who need extra attention.

I was bullied every day in both elementary school and middle school, at both LRES and LRMS. The faculty doesnt care, and wont do anything about bullying cases. I know, unfortunately, from first hand experience. I dont remember one day when I was happy there.

This school is amazing. My son went there and to Ladera Ranch Middle School and then we moved to San Diego. We have a 4 year old now and there is NOTHING like the Ladera Ranch education. Our 18 year old who is the one who went to Chaparral is now entering college with a full ride academic scholarship to Cal Poly SLO. I attribute a big portion of the success to Chaparral and Ladera Ranch Middle School. On top of that, the technology based education and the nightly emails reporting grades made me constantly aware of everything that was happening which was vital to his success. (SCHOOL LOOP). Highly recommend this school.

I come to LRMS I think it is the best school ever I am in 7th grade I had a excellent year last year and this year. The teachers and staff are excellent.

My son had an incredible experience here at LRMS! Most all of the teachers were caring, motivating and creative. The 8th grade science program was the best. In addition, the accelerated program is top notch. My son came from one of the supposedly best private middle schools in South OC where he was bored. He was challenged at LRMS and Loved it!

The teachers weren't that great, and I attended this school and ended up switching because I was being bullied. The cliques are unbelievable and the kids are extremely rude and pretentious. I was so happy to be out of that school. The staff does little to intervene with bullying and has weak leadership and involvement in the school. I'm in high school now in a different city, and now I can really look at Ladera Ranch Middle School for what it really is/was. All the kids live in a small little bubble in this community and are not well-rounded whatsoever. That's just my experience.

I was a student from this school and i got to say it was the WORST 3 years of my life. The bullying in this middle school is horrifying i hated my life so much I highly recommend to not choose this school for your son/daughter.

It is simply one of the best schools your child can ever attend. Great teachers, caring staff and good kids. The leadership is unparalleled to any other public school. Compatible to private schools and may be better.
