James Jordan Middle School is highly recommended in my community! When choosing a school for our children, safety is our number one priority! We appreciate all of the preventive efforts in place to provide a safe learning environment. As for academics, my children are both meeting and sometimes exceeding grade level expectations! They help support every child and they offer tutoring opportunities, Saturday School, and intercession enrichment. They help our children make good choices, which is a great bridge to prepare them for high school. The teachers are very kind! The administration team is very experienced and supportive! I trust them with my children and I look forward to their continued growth and success.

My experience has been amazing, currently I have 2 students attending JJMS and 1 former student now a college student. JJMS community is great feels like family environment. Teachers and staff are awesome, very helpful and competent in their fields. Being a parent at JJMS has its rewards, you get well prepared students for the future of our communities. Students learn how to be responsible for their actions. I can just say I love my JJMS community and I do not regret my kids attending this great school.

I love JJMS! I have worked at several different schools and JJMS is the best middle school in the San Fernando Valley. Some families may think that JJMS is strict, but that's because they haven't had experiences at other middle schools. I have been at other middle schools where fights break out every single day, there are not enough staff to supervise students, and students are not provided a quality education. That is not the case at JJMS. The teachers, staff, and administrators at JJMS care about each and every student, and they all work very hard to create a safe environment where students can thrive academically while also having the opportunity to participate in field trips as well as enjoy fun activities such as festivals and family nights. I love how JJMS has high expectations for its students, both academically and behaviorally. JJMS teaches its students how to succeed both in school and in life. If you want your child to be able to do or say whatever they want, whenever they want, even if it's not appropriate, then JJMS is not the place for you. If you want your child to be at a school that will do whatever it can to support your child, then JJMS is the place for you.

I don't appreciate the way this school punishes kids. They made the entire school sit in the sun during lunch and denied the students food.
After some altercation happened in November. The entire school was denied 'FREEDOM' which is some prison tactic in which the kids can't get up, talk or move during breaks and lunches. It's now December and my child still doesn't have her freedom even tho she was no where near the fight and possibly didn't even go to school that day.
They also don't have changing rooms. Students are instructed to change in a classroom with cameras and windows with NO CURTAIN FULLY EXPOSING THEM.
They take the students phones in the building and give them back after they leave the property which to me is a safety issue because I need to be able to communicate with my child at all times.
They search backpacks for no reason well after I've denied consent ON PAPER.
They keep your children in an academic barrier so they aren't able to exceed their full potential.
They charge the kids money for events that should be free (watching a movie) for them to enjoy. They made my daughter pay $5 to watch Nightmare Before Christmas. Frickin sad and pathetic.
They spread fear and put pressure on the students to behave so they're unhappy. The first month of school my daughter started pulling her hair out due to the stress.
I cannot wait for her to graduate so I can never look back at this terrible institution of a school.

IF YOU LOVE YOUR CHILDREN AND YOU CARE ABOUT THEIR MENTAL HEALTH, DO NOT SEND THEM TO JAMES JORDAN!

They have a zero tolerance for bullying and a strict diet for lunch meaning no junk food which I love. All of the staff are so nice and helpful. My son was struggling at a different school he has an IEP and no one would help him. Before he was getting D’s and F’s and now A’s and B’s. This school has many aides along with free tutoring and Saturday school. I’m thankful my son goes here he’s getting his confidence back and has made friends on his first day. All of the kids are respectful when I’m waiting to pick him up l don’t hear any bad words or disrespect. So far so good and I’m grateful my son is making the effort to be a good student and is doing the work.

Love love love James Jordan Middle School. As a parent, the things I want for my kids are: teachers and staff that care about your child’s education, resources to help your child be successful, respect for each other and instilled values. At James Jordan you get that and more.
• After school tutoring
• Saturday School
• Safe environment
• Set rules that are enforced
As an example, my daughter tested early in the morning and that afternoon I received a call from the teacher telling me she got 12 out of 12 correct. The teacher was just as excited to report my daughter’s score because she knew my daughter on an individual level and knew how hard she studied and was proud that she scored a 12 out of 12. That tells you a lot of the teacher and the school. What teacher/school knows YOUR kid on an individual level and cares how she does in class?
Another example, my daughter failed a pop quiz because she did not study over the weekend like she was supposed to. Right after she failed the test, she was asked to go to the office and call me to let me know that she failed ONLY because she did not do what she was supposed to do. Normally you find these things out when the report card comes out or during a quarterly teacher conference. Nope this school is so on top of it and involved I knew the minute it happened. I was able to address it and make sure that never happens again.
I am so impressed with the school and staff. If every school ran this way, the future would be brighter. I wish she could stay throughout High School!

I want to say if you live in the San Fernando Valley that this is probably the best middle school I have sent a child to. This school has taken my child from falling sleep in class at his previous school to a present grade point average of a 4.0. He has become more motivated to doing homework & chores & often tells me what college he plans on attending. The self discipline they learn along with caring & interactive staff & challenging academic & fun extracurricular programs makes James Jordan a top public charter. Their start time & afterschool program makes my work schedule a lot eaiser. Also the fact that they have tutors for before school, lunchtime, & afterschool are a great assest since if you have children you know that schoolwork & is difficulty has changed alot. I am able to feel secure knowing that my child is getting the education & help that he needs & deserve because this school is all about the CHILD winning. Their discipline policies & procedures are that which the children respect. (I am working on trying to get them to transition & starting a high school as well. There is no better school than James Jordan Middle School in my opinion.

I have know good teachers, But nothing can compair to the teaching staff at James Jordan Middle School. I Don't mean just one teacher, I mean the whole staff. My son has strungle with school since 1st grade. The staff here not only teaches the subject, but aslo teach self repect and pride in everything my son does. They are not just teaching m son to achieve good grades, they also teach him way to succeed in life later in life. The staff goes above and beyound what any other teacher ever did for him before. Thank you, Ms. Reyes, Mr. lopez, Ms. A, Ms. Peterson, Ms. Cater, Ms. Ferrant, Ed.D. Marsh. and to the rest of the staff at James Jordan Middle School
