I have had two of my kids at redeemer starting in 2018 to present. I love that the entire staff knows all of my children. My kids feel loved and welcomed there. The staff is accommodating and friendly. ItÂ’s a wonderful preschool experience!

The teachers are wonderful which is why we remain, but moral and enthusiasm is dropping rapidly due to poor leadership, and ridiculous policies.

Posted: September 11, 2018

The teachers do a phenomenal job helping to mold the moral compass of the children.

The leadership of this school has diminished over the last several years. dictatorship style leader, fees for literally everything and ridiculous policies for teachers, students and parents. I honestly don't think the director likes kids or parents. She simply wants to be the boss of people and make money.

We have attended this school for several years and feel that with each passing year the leadership gets worse, and in turn the teachers are enjoying their jobs less and feeling less and less support from the leadership.

The emphasis for this years orientation was how to properly address the director and what fines we can expect to pay if we do not follow policies. There are fees/fines for EVERYTHING. Being late, being early, 3 point turns in the parking lot. There was very little warmth, love, and general excitement to have our students there. It was all about the how much money they plan on collecting.

There was a sense of esteem at this school in years past that has diminished as now they will allow any student in any class regardless of age or appropriate grade level as long as the check clears. It feels like leadership is more concerned about the bottom dollar than caring for, teaching and loving our students. The director is cold, and generally unpleasant, greets the students as if they are a necessary evil and the parents as if they are an annoyance. I do strongly believe that the teachers love the students and love teaching, but I do think that the pressure of poor management, and leadership has put a stain on the love of the job. My oldest child had a wonderful experience because of the amazing teachers, but I am not feeling as optimistic for the coming years. We remain there in spite of the leadership because we do love the teachers, and love that they radiate for the children. They make if feel like a family in spite of the cold money driven leadership.

It is just preschool, so there is very little if any take home work.

If their administrative leadership is any indication, they have a lot of work to do.

We had a pretty awful experience with Redeemer. We signed up our daughter after being on the waitlist, and paid a non-refundable deposit for tuition, supplies and registration fee. You have no choice but to sign this as you sign up. A couple months later, we got a diagnosis our daughter had a special need and needed therapy, but the only time to do that was during the time we had class at Redeemer. The other option Redeemer gave us was in the afternoon sessions which didn't work for us, since we work. We withdrew 2+ months before school began and they replaced her spot but refused to give us back our deposit, even after we laid out the circumstance to them.

We had to take them to court to try to recover it. The judge ruled that even though it's bad business for them to do this and a bad way to treat families of those you're supposed to be helping, they could keep the nearly $500 because they offered us an option B (an option which didn't work for us). This, also despite the fact that the CA Supreme Court has ruled non-refundable deposits ARE refundable if a replacement "buyer" (student) is found. They can't legally enrich themselves over our unfortunate circumstance, but they--a church preschool--opted to do that.

We are very frustrated, and not the first family to deal with this. Be wary of what you sign, and the fact that Redeemer's people don't necessarily have your best interests in mind, even when it comes to an unforeseen circumstance surrounding a 3-year-old.

They were very unsympathetic to our situation when our child was diagnosed with a special need, and her schedule needed to be accommodated.

Their leadership does just that to parents and/or prospective parents.

From the moment you call on the phone, you'll get a good indication of how the administration treats you. It's not good.

Excellent in every way starting with Ms. Cindy, the director. My daughter's in her second year and all theteachers and staffknow her! Such a warm, nurturing environment. Wish it was K thru 8 th! Art and Spanish classes are exceptional. Early Bird drop off program so incredibly helpful!

Best preschool in Carlsbad! The director, Cindy Brown knows what she is doing and all kids are treated in a nurturing way. My son loves his teachers and friends here. He did the 3's program and is now in the 4's program three days a week...all I can say is I wish Redeemer was a K-8 school and he would be there through middle school. Amazing private school and I really looked around, nothing better!

We love Redeemer! My son has attended preschool (the 3's program) and pre-K (the 4's program) and he will continue on to Kindergarten there next year. The new facility, which is top-notch and secure) was built only 2-3 years ago and the director (Ms. Cindy) is wonderful. The preschool ratio is 2 teachers for 15 kids. I have been happy with the mix of learning, artwork, playground time and play. My son loves to go, and my daughter will start next year!

Terrible experience with the director and board. They may put on a nice face when you are happy but are not sympathetic if you raise an issue. When it comes down to it, the school is a business and they are only interested in making money.

Wonderful school with amazing caring teachers and staff. Amazing leadership by the director Ms Cindy with a child first focus. Would highly recommend this school !

I have four children, and three of my kids have attended the preschool. Additionally, my daughter graduated Kindergarten last year, and my son is enrolled in the Kindergarten this year. Both the preschool and kindergarten are excellent! I love the staff, teachers, and the director, Cindy Brown is very good. She is highly involved in every aspect of the school. I have not met a warmer or more welcoming director in our experience with previous preschools. My daughter was completely prepared for 1st grade at Pacific Rim Elementary. I plan to enroll all my children at Redeemer by the Sea. I feel very blessed to have such a great start to their early education.

Love, love this school. It's new, clean, organized and the best faculty not to mention the Director. I have been looking at many preschools and this one surpasses all others.

This school is over rated. If your child has a disability or needs any type of special services you are just plain out of luck. The kindergarten is very academics based so the preschool really doesn't prepare the children for the next level.

Redeemer is a great preschool. It focuses on socialization, which is what preschool should be about. Children will be hit with academics soon enough. Miss Cindy, the director, has a good thumb on everything that is happening.

I could not be happier with this school, the director, or the teachers! I use to teach Preschool and I also toured about 15 preschools before landing here. I wish we didn't have to leave after Kindergarten!
