I know it says Im a current student but Im a former 5th grade student but I would put this as a 7/10 school since the school offers kinder up to 8th grade so safety can be something a thing that isnt the best and I recall many times getting in fight (I only lost one obv).Been there for around 6 years many memories there and its nostalgic for me. Learning is not bad but not crazy good, teaching for me is 5 since my teachers throughout 2th to 5th was amazing and special shoutout to ms.s my 4th and 5th grade teacher, emotional support is barely used so not high, special education is good and is strong from what Ive seen, safety again isnt high since they do have punishments but again it kinder to 8th so there is a higher chance of more fights, family engagement is good and definitely very strong especially from what Ive seen for the past 6 years Ive been there and thats what I could say for this school. Special shoutout to ms.s my favorite teacher from 5th of 2025.

My son has been constantly coming home injured and hurt from being bullied by very mean kids for so long!!!!! My son hates going to school, and I hate sending him here.
I've gone literally countless times to talk to Mrs.Fountain the principal but it's honestly so sad she does not do a single thing about it. I've talked to other parents that have the same problem. I'm disgusted that this school does not care about bullying. It's taking a toll on my sons mental health. Mine as well, it's stressful and scary he has to go to this school for now.

On Friday, August 26, 2022, I was on my way to pick up Chase at Oak Elementary exit gate north of the building standing at the back of the line among the many parents waiting to pick up their children. At approximately 2:05 the gate is open and kids are leaving with their parents. The distance from where I was standing and the gate was about 40 feet. As I was walking up to the gate my 5 year old autistic son walked past me calling my name. He was completely unattended.
I reported and spoke with the principle and his kindergarten teacher who admitted she has so many kids they she lost sight of him she apologized and the principle propose a solution allowing me and my wife to pick him at the office 5 minutes early at 2:00

for a public school this is a good school, my son is going on his second year and we haven't had any problems with the teachers or staff I do wish this school had more funding more teachers assistants and staff in the playground. I like this school and my son does too.

I'm the Grandma of a student, however not happy with the food service attendant leaving my grandson of only 6 years old without eating. they made an error on his free lunch application, that was not kids fault to be left without eating the entire day. he came home crying with an upset stomach. action is needed in that area!

I love Oak st school because the teachers and principal are really great. They're really care about the children and very dedicated. Whenever I have a concern or question, Mr. Barter (principal) is there to listen.
