Normal Heights Children's Center

My 2 year old daughter has been attending this school for a couple of months now on a part-time basis and she loves it. I can see that the teachers and all the staff are wonderful with the children. This is my daughter's second attempt in attending a daycare/preschool, her 1st experience in a different school was not good at all. I was afraid that she would not adapt in the future and she did with NHUMCC. I am very thankful for the quality of care they provide.

NHUMCC (Normal Heights United Methodist Children's Center) is a great school. They aren't about making money, but providing a place for children, and therefore they keep costs low. When the government reduced funding for special programs and they lost a bunch of kids, the teachers took a salary cut in order to help out. That is just how they are. They care about the kids. The kids get plenty of outdoor play time, art, music, and the older kids spend time every day focused on learning their letters and numbers. This is a church-affiliated preschool, however the curriculum is completely non-religious. They take kids starting at age 2 and don't require that they are potty trained, and there's no cost difference for potty trained versus not. This is a great school, and it allows kids who otherwise might not be able to go to preschool the chance to do so, in a racially diverse environment.
