This school is more like an glorified day care center. The staff are disengaged and not very experienced. My child did not meet educational milestones when entering into kindergarten. We also had serious safety concerns that the school didn't seem to take seriously. We regret going here.

We never thought wed be writing this review.
We were the kind of CMP parents who showed up, got involved, and truly believed in the school. We helped advocate for the return of their kindergarten program and loved sharing how magical it felt the chickens, the nature-based learning, and the emotional intelligence philosophy. For a while, it really was everything we wanted.
But then something changed.
When a serious safety concern arose, we found ourselves feeling that the schools response didnt match the seriousness of what we shared. We felt like the focus shifted more toward minimizing the situation and maintaining appearances, rather than directly addressing the concern or making sure our child was fully supported and safe.
We left feeling unheard and unsure that the school was willing to prioritize our childs well-being over maintaining a perfect image. We had expected collaboration and care. Instead, we felt isolated, with no clear communication or plan of action to address what happened.
Were not sharing this out of anger or bitterness were sharing it because we believe parents deserve to know how it felt when things didnt align with the promises we once believed in.
CMP may look wonderful on the outside. And for many, it may be. But we learned the hard way that the true test of a schools values is how they respond when something goes wrong.
If youre considering this school, ask them the hard questions.
Make sure youre fully comfortable with the answers and that they align with how you expect your child to be cared for and protected.
We wish we had been given that chance.

This school is absolutely fantastic! Every employee and teacher I dealt with has superb professionalism and was always responsive and quick to respond to any inquiry. This is a school where any question may have is readily answered with a simple phone call. No answering machines and waiting days or weeks for a response and they provide excellent education. They provided a comprehensive summary of my Childs development. One that I could completely agree with and see where the teacher had formulated her opinions. My Childs growth and development here were astounding and more than that my child loved attending. He was always so excited when I told him we were going to school. Thank you Carmel Mountain for all you have done for my family!

The administration at this preschool has no conscience. My family started the registration process for summer camp and less than 24 hours after submitting most of the registration forms, we learned we had a possible COVID exposure. We called the school immediately to say we were going into quarantine and wouldnt be sending our kids to camp, as we didnt know what to expect. We were told the school had already charged us the camp tuition and fees (over $1100!) and would not, under any circumstances, refund it. We appealed to both the school director and executive director. Both were unfeeling, rude, and insistent that our change in mind- as they phrased it- didnt mean they owed us anything back. This is how they treat families who are trying to safeguard others. This is how they treat people who are responding responsibly to exposure risk, care and take COVID seriously. So despite the fact that our kids never stepped one foot into the facility, they feel justified in taking AND KEEPING money they never earned. Its beyond tragic. Its disgusting.

Owner is focused on gossip and negativity so much that she emailed parents during covid 19 to scold them for gossiping when in reality they were upset about the 60 day withdraw policy when many of them were not essential workers and did not need care.

The director will tell teachers they are being alarmists if they have a concern about a childs development. They will also pressure parents into getting evaluations when they are not needed. Director and owner have NO special education training and should listen to the teachers who have special education degrees and experience.

The management and ownership make their decisions under their own personal beliefs and feelings.

I say this because I never had an issue with this topic.

If I were to solely be dealing with the teachers of this school without the administration and owner I would be leaving a 5 star review. The owner is somehow too involved and yet not involved enough at the same time. She is rarely on site and when a problem arises instead of trying to solve a problem she goes the route of accusing parents of what theyre doing wrong when they are the customer. Parents are not allowed to speak among one another with concerns about the school, if the owner finds out she scolds parents as if they're the children at the school. It's said to be slander, gossip, and toxic even though these are not things being said in a public forum but often in the form of a private group text or e-mail chain.
Any reviews you see about the teachers is true. They are truly 5 star. The facilities are nice but it's really what the teachers do to engage and communicate with not only the students but also the families that truly shines. My child had multiple teachers in the time spent at Carmel Mountain Preschool and I don't have a complaint about any of them, support staff included.
That said, there is a contest for parents every November/December for parents to submit a review via Yelp, Google, Greatschools, and show proof to the administration in order to be entered in a drawing for months of free tuition. If you look closely, most reviews are submitted in the months of November/December. The drawing typically occurs mid-December so many are around that time as the final, shove down your throat, push for submissions is made.
Also, when you begin at Carmel Mountain Preschool (say as a "toddler") the tuition is the "highest" it will be in your time at the school. However, tuition increases every summer mean that by the time your child reaches a preK level you will be paying about the same price as when you began without any real decrease throughout the years. This year with Covid-19 many families lost their jobs or were unable to afford a service they were no longer using and either had to withdraw their children or put stop payments on their accounts. This was met with haste and without empathy to people's situations by the CFO.
When you read this know that while the teachers are really top-notch, they are gravely under-appreciated and micromanaged. So please, give them a smile and all of your support if you choose this school.

The teachers are the only positive thing about the staff at this school.
Posted: May 15, 2020
Again, this is because of the teachers at this school.

To start, it will be hard to find a parent that posts a bad review about this school in fear of accusations of slander, libel, or gossip. They censor what is being said among private conversations within parent circles, what is posted as opinion on social media, or personal conversations with teachers. While the cameras are excellent for security, it is also being used to monitor what is being said about the school, in particular, its administration. To be honest all of this is petty but because it is raised by administration so frequently not only as multiple lines in their Parent Handbook but also as frequent email "reminders" about "gossip-mongering" it makes you wonder how many parents are "getting caught" and are unhappy, but staying because of the teachers or because they feel guilty for pulling their kids mid-school year. Speaking of pulling their kids, in the last few years they have raised the withdrawal notification from 2-weeks to 30-days to 60-days. This is their response to families that leave due to price hikes. While this makes complete sense to ensure there are no gaps in enrollment, with a school that boasts its waitlist, it should be no issue finding a student or 2 or 10 to fill-in those that have left. Expect a price hike every year, though there was one year we experienced two hikes in the same school year. Be warned that the rate you pay for your 18-month old today will be the same rate that you will pay when he graduates at 4 or 5 years old. Why? Because the rates increase by that much (or more) each year. The price hikes contribute to the following and ranked by the school's priority based on my experience from the last 4 years: wooden fences, succulents, security upgrades to pass code regulations, playground, teachers. Read that last sentence again. Teachers and playgrounds (the place where your kids spend most of their play-based education) are last priority. Now think about why? With the abundance of reviews, there will always be students (and their gullible parents - me included!) and teachers who clamor to be enrolled or employed at such a highly-rated school.

Dec 2019:
we now have 2 girls at CMP and everything has been amazing! This will be my oldest daughter's final year at CMP. CMP has always exceeded expectations and we love all the staff and teachers there. They are great!

Our 2 year old son has been attending CMP since August 2019. In the short time that he has been at CMP, he has grown by leaps and bounds in his language and social skills. He not only comes home and shares with us new songs and words that he learned at school, but now knows to sit when eating, say please and thank you, as well as cleaning up after himself. He loves his teachers, Ms. Jess and Ms. Claudia, and they are very engaged, attentive, loving, and kind. They know his favorites, his dislikes, his unique traits, the things that bring him joy, and how to make him feel safe and loved. We switched our son from a different preschool and while the classrooms are not nearly as large or new, CMP has by far the highest quality teachers and incredible playgrounds/outdoor spaces. Our son is thriving at CMP and we couldn't have imagined a better place for him to play, grow, and learn.

The enjoyment and progress in development we see in our son is almost too hard do describe in words, but one thing for sure is that Carmel Mountain Preschool is a true treasure for anyone that will be lucky enough to get a spot. The amount of different and diverse learning your child can get from CMP is incomparable to any other preschool around. You cannot find any place where you have this outdoor possibilities as well as facilities for learning and play. Everyday you see new things in your child, new words, new behavior making it fun to see the progress your child do in social behavior and knowledge, all by having fun with great staff teaching and taking care of your child. Highly recommended for any parent, take a few hours to visit the place during open house to make your own opinion, which I'm sure will be all positive.

CMP is an amazing preschool. The teachers that weve worked with have been patient, kind, and of course well-versed at creating an environment that promotes the best kind of learning. The kids get a healthy mix of outdoor classroom time, tinkering at Tinker Hollow, messy art in the Glen, playground time, and of course traditional learning time in a classroom. For parents, it is really easy to email or call the school whenever a concern or question comes up. The office staff is responsive and thorough. We feel so lucky that our child gets to go to such an amazing preschool.

This is our sons third year at Carmel Mountain Preschool, and I can say without hesitation that every teacher and staff member at the school is patient, kind, and well-versed in the needs of young children (both academic and social-emotional). In my opinion, this is what sets CMP apart from other schools. Their facilities are beautiful, and they offer amazing extracurricular opportunities, but the core of what they do - cultivating a love of school and learning - is what makes this place truly extraordinary.

Carmel Mountain Preschool is an absolute treasure. As promised CMP has done a great job teaching our daughter her ABCs, numbers and the occasional nursery rhyme, but whats more fulfilling is watching her development of vital social and behavioral skills. Most importantly to us as parents, our toddler truly loves going to school every day. CMP is so much more than just a preschool, it is a warm and loving environment staffed by dedicated, caring individuals. Watching our little girl grow both mentally and physically all the while having such a great time is more than any parent could ask.
Thank you so much CMP family for all that you do. We have and will continue to recommend Carmel Mountain Preschool.

Carmel Mountain Preschool is such a fun and enriching environment for our daughters. I attended CMP in 1989 and 1990 so when it came time to find a preschool for our oldest, we knew we wanted her to go to CMP! Our oldest daughter is in her 4th year at CMP and our youngest daughter just started in August in the toddler classroom. We can honestly say that every teacher the girls have had has been so kind, caring and fun! With each year, it is so amazing to see how much the kids learn and grow because of the support and encouragement they receive from the CMP teachers. Each teacher brings her own unique activities, lessons and personality to the classroom. We also cherish the photos that the teachers share of the kids at school. It helps us connect with them when we are busy at work.
The CMP grounds are amazing and there is really no comparison in San Diego. The toddler playground is so inviting and the recent upgrades give toddlers the opportunity to explore and create their own play environment. Our oldest daughter has also loved being able to move up to different playgrounds every year. She loves exploring the new equipment but also enjoys the free play in the mud kitchens! The art studio, nature lab, tinker lab, organic garden, and music garden are so wonderful. Family and friends are always amazed at the outdoor activities available to the kids. Both girls look forward to the days they get to explore these special places.
CMP does an amazing job of engaging families by offering family picnics, family yoga and hip hop, afternoon concerts and holiday events, to name a few. All of the staff are so kind and caring. They love and embrace all of the children at CMP. We feel so comforted throughout the day knowing that our daughters are in such a warm and engaging environment. We are so happy that we will continue to be a part of this Community for the next 4 years!

The art studio, nature lab, garden, tinker hollow, chickens, and amazing playgrounds give the children such a great environment to grow in. The classrooms are also amazing. The kids are given so much support to develop emotionally and academically. I truly can't say enough about how great CMP is.

As a retired speech pathologist for preschoolers, I am beyond impressed by the program at Carmel Mountain Preschool. 2 of my grandkids attend the school and the experiences that they have far succeed my expectations. They are learning invaluable life skills and maturing into wonderful kids. With working parents, I trust that my grandkids are in the best of care and I feel the love from the teachers and staff when I have the pleasure of picking them up from school.

We've been at CMP for 4 years now, and have had nothing but the best experience. Quite simply, it is a magical place. And a place I have absolutely no hesitation taking my kids to for long work days. In fact, they rarely want to leave! From the teachers, the support team, the education, the focus on creating empathetic/caring/compassionate children with a concern for others and their environment, and all the extracurricular opportunities (Nature center, Tinkering, Art Studio, concerts, yoga, etc) for them, we couldn't love this school more.

CMP is the best! We have been part of the CMP family for the past 5 months and we have absolutely loved it here. The school is huge! And beautiful and spotless! The classrooms always smell so good! The staff and teachers are amazing, kind and courteous. I have yet to see someone there who didn't seem like they were enjoying their jobs.
We came here from another preschool, where my daughter had a very difficult time adjusting. However, within days of starting at CMP, my daughter quickly adjusted to her new teachers and classroom thanks to her wonderful teachers. In the past few months, she has learned so much and is thriving. Enrolling her at CMP has been one of the best decisions we have made and we highly recommend it if you're looking for a trusted place that'll nourish the growing mind of your children.

My family is one of the original Carmel Mountain Preschool families 35 years ago. While the school has grown and expanded it has never lost the feel of being like extended family. My sister and I both attended and now my son is a second generation enrollee.
CMP makes sure that the transition is comfortable for the parents as well as the child.
The entire staff is skilled at comforting parents while gracefully guiding them in letting go and allowing the child to become independent.
It is not just daycare. Carmel Mountain Preschool focuses on each childs physical, social, emotional and academic development. They provide exposure to art, music, tinkering activities that develop fine motor skills and plenty of physical outdoor fun playtime.
My son has absolutely fallen in love with every one of his teachers! They truly love and take care of him as if he were one of their own. It is a relief to go to work with my mind at ease knowing that my son is being well taken care of.

CMP has been, and continues to be, a high quality choice for preschool. My cousins, who are now in their 30s attended, my nephew who is in his 20s attended and our now 4 year old has been a student there since he was 18 months old and we couldn't be happier.
When we were searching for preschool options for our son we knew CMP had to be on the list, but when we toured we fell in love with the campus, curriculum and staff. The campus feels tranquil, there is an outdoor music garden, art studio and tinkering space, a garden where the kids grow and eat fruits and vegetables, the playground equipment is well maintained, and the classrooms are kept fresh. They also do several family events during the year both in the classroom and up on their field. Some of our favorites are when Hullabaloo comes or Rhythm Child - my son really loves drumming! I also appreciate that they will often have a parent night with a talk from someone they have brought in to train the staff. We attended a conscious discipline last year and it was really helpful for our parenting, but to also learn what techniques the teachers are learning.
My son started going there at 18 months and only had about 10 words. Within 2 weeks he was up to 25 words and we have continued to see big jumps in his comprehension. I remember when we toured they emphasized that this was a true preschool setting and not just daycare. I was skeptical, but I have to say it really is true. He seems to have grasped things at a much earlier age than his older brother did who was in a true daycare setting until he was 3.
All of the teachers are awesome, very loving and caring. It really feels like a big family. My son looks forward to going to school every day and even asked if his teachers could come to his birthday party.
Posted: December 19, 2018
The teachers really care about the kids. They start each day with the child's choice of a hug or a high five after greeting the child by name. If problems arise they work with the parents to find a collaborative solution.

We started CMP when our eldest son, was 3 years old. At his old school he was quite shy and would always come home irritated and not smiling. When we moved him over to CMP we noticed quite a significant change after being in Ms. Maddie's class. His teacher told us that he was quite talkative and had made friends and was always willing to participate in all the activities. When we would go to pick him up, he was smiling and happy. The full credit honestly goes to the loving and caring environment that CMP facilitates. Not only did they help us in understanding what our child was going through, but they would take the extra time to help him adjust to school. All this came, not just from his immediate teacher, but from all the teachers, and immediate support staff at CMP.
Our younger one is also now at CMP, and all the teachers know both my boys. They both are soo excited to go to school and meet their friends and learn.
This summer our family went through a stressful period and everyone at CMP was more than wiling to help out and work with us. This provided such a relief for us as parents and also a sense of security for our boys. They never skipped a beat.
This isn't just a school but its a community of people who help parents raise their children with good moral character, education and happiness all around. We couldn't be happier and its by far the best decision we have made as parents. Our boys will def be sad to leave their "home away from home.

I couldnt be more delighted with Carmel Mountain Preschool! As both an elementary school teacher and a mom, I have high standards. CMP has met or exceeded every one of them. Each day, when I drop my daughters off at preschool, I know I am leaving them in the care of loving, knowledgeable staff who will value and respect them as individuals. The students have incredible opportunities: the outdoor art studio, the nature lab, Tinker Hollow, extensive playgrounds, fun family events, and so much more! Both of my daughters are learning so much, but most importantly, they love their friends, their teachers, and their preschool.

CMP is a group of caring, dedicated and patient teachers and staff members who go above and beyond the expectations of the parents who entrust them with their children. The classrooms are child focused, clean, filled with books, art equipment, toys and other learning tools. Their playgrounds are safe, secure and age appropriate. The special areas like The Glen, the Messy Art Studio and Tinkering Hollow are incredible experiences for kids. The emphasis on community, environment and friendship is always present. And on top of all of that there is the fresh passion fruit gelato and the Hullabaloo concerts and family yoga nights! Once more, the teachers and the staff are truly exceptional. CMP is a jewel. I can't recommend CMP enough.

This preschools is worth the wait. If youre interested schedule a tour and put your child on the list now! We were lucky enough to have our son start for Summer session and have been so happy here. It's not a big 'chain' preschool and you can really feel the difference. Great student to teacher ratios along with enhanced experiences that other preschools don't have. The tinkering lab, the art studio, chicken coop, the list goes on. We love our having our son at CMP.

Simply a well run family preschool. We've sent two kids here and have been impressed with how they continue to make improvements and grow. The staff is attentive and well trained. If you are looking for a 'quality' preschool - everything from non-toxic facilities, to organic snacks, to incredible outdoor play opportunities, to acute attention to child development needs - CMP checked all the boxes for a preschool.

Carmel Mountain Preschool has been a gift to our family for both of our boys! Our 9 year old still wishes he could return because of his fond memories. Our 3-year old looks at his class as his second family. The community that CMP builds is exceptionally unique, inviting parents and the school to work as partners in supporting kids through preschool age milestones. They place great emphasis on the emotional development of each child, in meeting each child where they are. CMP teachers are professional, approachable, and the safety and happiness of your child is their highest priority. CMP is a locally family run preschool (for over 35 years) where you find the owners interacting with the kids, parents, and staff daily. Teachers value is evident through the incredible Professional Learning provided and longevity and commitment of the staff. CMP promotes a love of learning, with learning through play, investigation, and experience. Whether your child is visiting the Glenn Garden, the Tinkering Hollow, the Art Studio, or one of the many outdoor playgrounds - kids are encouraged to build, explore, and question the world. If you want a preschool where your kids are encouraged to JUMP, not shy away, from rainy day puddles - this is the school for your family!

CMP not only stands for Carmel Mountain Preschool
But also for Childrens Magnificent Progress: Emotional maturity.
As the hands-on Omi (grandma) of Ashley & Natalie, 4 ½ year old twins,
I witness the excitement with which they eagerly go to their classrooms in the mornings (should I admit run?) and return home with happy faces. Honestly, I cant imagine a more all-encompassing preschool curriculum anywhere.
At CMP, in a loving environment with dedicated and experienced teachers, the kids explore their world amidst the inviting garden, learning about plants and many creatures. At the quaint Art Studio, their creativity is encouraged using colors and plant materials. At the Tinkering Workshop boys and girls apply their manual skills to build a bird house or a simple airplanewith hammers and goggles.
The list of attractions goes on: Leading to the large playgrounds, various outdoors xylophones are ready to be examined. On the large grass area above, the kids get familiar with the lives of hens who boast their own hen house. The kids get to handfeed them and at times can observe how chicks emerge from eggs. A wonderful fact: Lots of outdoors time is emphasized.
Besides this wonderful world around them, the teachers instill the joy of learning in their students early on. The teaching is always engaging, be it letters, numbers, science projects, songs or helping to make applesauce or pizza. What might be even more important for our kids is being taught how to be aware of their emotions, good or bad, and how to handle these emotions. I am so glad how this life skill is addressed daily in the way their teachers communicate with the class.
THANK YOU FOR being Ashleys & Natalies family away from home.

CMP has been an amazing place for my daughter! She started in June at the age of 18 months and I was a nervous wreck. The teachers have been so patient and my daughter has really thrived in the environment. She is so social and verbal and really looks forward to going to school in the mornings. She loves her new friends and teachers and it's so fun to see her learning and growing.
The school itself is beautiful with so much for the kids to do - the art studio, the glen, playgrounds, monthly yoga and dance classes, holiday activities and spirit weeks, chickens to feed and organic snacks provided daily.

Our son has been a student at CMP for almost a year now and he loves it! Each morning our son asks, what are we doing today?. As soon as we tell him he gets to go to school he gets the biggest smile on his face and he cant wait to go. All of the teachers and staff are engaged and show a unified front. Every single staff member is genuinely happy and kind. My days are worry free knowing our son is in good hands. Our son is comfortable, learning, and having fun which puts my mind at ease. His teachers are excellent communicators and keep us apprised of our sons progress. We feel like part of a community and we could not have asked for anything better. We are grateful every day we are part of CMP!

The teachers are phenomenal - I feel like they really know my daughters individual personality and tweak things to what will suit her best. Their outdoor spaces and activities such as nature lab, art studio and tinkering add such value on top of their great play-based curriculum. I can't recommend the CMP enough!

I chose Carmel Mountain Preschool on the recommendation of my neighbor. I am so glad we made this decision for my son Syam who was then 2 and had stayed at home with a nanny. I was very concerned about how hed adapt to the school environment, but he did really well. He goes to CMP two days a week and a different preschool the remaining days. Hence, I can do a true comparison of what makes CMP so great. First off, the low teacher to student ratio really makes a huge difference! Especially at such a small age, when kids are full of energy it is very important to have constant adult supervision. Next, the large number of staff members CMP has, gives me peace of mind that if a teacher is out sick, the teacher to children ratio wont be impacted. Third, the school is just amazing; from outdoor art studio, tinkering garden, science lab and soccer field, I wish I could go to this school along my son

We are so happy to have our kids at Carmel Mountain Preschool! Our son is in his 3rd year and our daughter is in her 1st year and they both love it. The teachers and staff feel like family and all of them know your child. Our son is very active and needed a highly stimulating preschool where he wouldn't be in a classroom all day long. He loves Tinker Hollow where he gets to build with tools. He loves The Glenn where he learns about nature and gets to touch insects and take care of the garden. And then there's the art studio where he gets to do so many fun crafts. All 3 of these places are outdoors! The 3 playgrounds are amazing. The school encourages multidimensional play where the kids can get dirty and stimulate their senses. Our son is always singing songs from school and he shocked me when he was counting by tens in a song. He also surprised me with knowing all the months of the year from a song! Both songs involved hand and body motions which I know helped him stay interested. He wants nothing to do with the alphabet at home but at school he happily learns and can write his name. I could go on and on. What I love most are the amazing teachers who genuinely love our kids and see the best in them. I feel at ease knowing they are so well taken care of. We look forward to sending our 3rd child there when he's ready!

Our son has been a student at CMP since summer 2018 and he absolutely LOVES it! He was previously at a chain daycare center and what a difference it is between there and CMP! He was picking up bad habits such as not sharing, hitting, and throwing tantrums which was so not like him. He would come home upset and not tell us why. That was our main reason for seeking something different. Within a few short weeks at CMP our son was thriving! Learning manners, coming home happy, never crying at drop off, and he actually asks to stay longer at school even after he is there 8 hours per day! He constantly talks about his adventures at school, his friends, and his teachers. We could not recommend CMP more highly!

The teachers are kind, excellent role models, cheerful, love being around the children and most of all my child loves coming here. It is very telling how he behaves and loves being in his classroom. Very well rounded, lots of arts and crafts, and circle time is great in teaching some academics.

Carmel Mountain Preschool is the best decision we've made when it comes to selecting a day care for our daughter. CMP has the best staff, a safe and warm environment, a variety of classes for our daughter to learn and explore. Our daughter comes home telling us about her wonderful adventure at the Glen, the art studio and the music yard. Every day we walk through the front door, our daughter is super excited and greets all the teachers by their name and surprisingly they all know her by name too. CMP is a place that makes you feel like you're at home and your child is in good care. Thank you CMP for opening up your door and taking great care of our little girl.

We are so happy with Carmel Mountain Preschool. It's unlike most preschools we've experienced because the facility has several outdoor spaces built into the learning. It is a great environment for our daughter to explore, learn and grow. Her teacher creates a loving and encouraging classroom where she is excited to go each day and she enjoys a fun ballet class as one of their many extracurricular classes. Carmel Mountain Preschool is wonderful from the staff to the teachers to the place itself and we couldn't be happier being a part of their family.

My husband and I moved to San Diego with our 1 year old daughter back in 2016. My sister watched our daughter for a full year but became pregnant with her second child and could no longer watch our daughter. We were searching for a daycare that was warm, loving, clean, high lyrecommended, safe, small ratio, close to home and work. We took a look at 7 daycare in the area...and Carmel Mountain Preschool was the perfect fit. The staff is caring and attentive, the facility is green and always clean. My daughter is always excited to attend preschool every day. We started her June 2017 and she continues to thrive and learn so much. Each day she surprises me with new songs, remembers her classmates names, always smiling and happy when I drop her off and pick her up. We love Carmel Mountain Preschool and will recommend this place to other working parents.

After touring many preschools all around San Diego, my wife and I finally agreed that Carmel Mountain Preschool would be a great place for our 2 year old son to transitional from nanny care. To date, all of his teachers have been engaging, reassuring (first few weeks were rough) and trustworthy. The transition from their summer school curriculum to the school year class, including a new teacher, went seamless. My son likes all the unique actives in the different areas of the school grounds and we get photos of his day from his teacher throughout the week. We feel fortunate to have found a great place for learning and development for our son.

Its not just a pre-school, its a place for kids to learn how to think outside the box.
We are now in our 5th year at Carmel Mountain Pre-School and each year has gotten better and better. As two full-time working parents, the staff at CMP goes above and beyond to make it such a joy to drop off our kids every single day.
They offer so many opportunities for the kids at such a young age that by the time they get to Kindergarten they are very prepared. In our five years at CMP, one thing I can say is that they work hard to better not only their staff, their kids but also their facilities to provide the kids the most enjoyable yet educational environment possible.
From a personal standpoint, the school has been tremendous in making sure both our children are put in the environment that best fit their needs. The staff is very loving and caring where our goodbyes were left with smiles from both our boys and us. The Directors are always in communication with you as parents and address any feedback you have in a timely manner, which is very hard to find in any school. They truly care about their CMP Family!
Our pre-school experience at CMP could not have been any better. The school is full of love, laughs and embraces a true passion for bettering children. We feel lucky to be part of the CMP Family!

I have 2 boys (ages 6 and 2.5 years old). My 6 year old attended Carmel Mountain Preschool from 2.5 5 years old and loved it and my 2.5 year old is currently there. It is a wonderful school, with amazing teachers and welcoming staff. I couldnt ask for a better environment for my children! Between classroom time and time at the Glenn and Art Studio, they have a well rounded program for the kids. In addition they are always doing fun family events and actively looking for ways to make the children more engaged. The KinderPrep program at Carmel Mountain Preschool is exceptional and my oldest learned so much socially and academically and is now excelling in Kindergarten. I know this is a result of the teachers and program at Carmel Mountain Preschool. I highly recommend the preschool and am so thankful for all the wonderful teachers and staff that have been a part of my kids lives there!!

They plan several activities that excite and teach the children and share those moments with the parents via pictures and emails.

CMP is a great preschool for toddlers. My daughter continues to amaze me with her understanding of the world that surrounds her and I credit that to CMP. Every day is a fun day at CMP, where learning involves hands on play and interaction. There's circle time in the morning, art and music in the afternoon and frequent visits to the Glen (garden oasis - where the kids get to be one with nature) and the soccer field where parents are invited for school concerts, picnics and foam (snow) days. Fun and learning goes hand in hand at CMP and they have a group of wonderful staff members who truly take cares for your child.

My son has been at CMP for just 3 months now and I have seen a tremendous growth in social and emotional development, as well as his language skills. He has learned so much in such a short amount of time. After a few rough weeks of transition, Riley is now begging to go to school everyday to see his teachers, friends, and the CMP staff. The way they care and nurture their students assures me that I made the right choice. I searched near and far, as we all do, for the best school for my son and I definitely found it. We commute 30 mins in the morning and 1 hr in the evening but know that my son is at this amazing school having a great time is worth it. Their facility and student to teacher ratio is what really sold me. The facility is like nothing else here - three separate playgrounds, an amazing art studio, and a great nature/garden area. The small classes sizes puts my mind at ease knowing that my child is getting the personal attention that he needs. They do so many fun activities for the kids year round, provide healthy organic snacks, and use all natural soaps and essential oil diffusers in the room! We couldn't be happier with our decision, wish we enrolled sooner!

At first I was hesitant to leave my son at a preschool all day while I worked. After endless research on which preschool to enroll my son in, my wife and I decided to enroll him into Carmel Mountain Preschool. BEST. DECISION. EVER! At first my son was shy and scared to be dropped off and left alone but after a few weeks with his caring and loving teachers, he is begging to go back every single day. Even though it's only been a few weeks, I can see a big difference in his personality and confidence. The staff here are amazing and really care for their students and love what they do. Carmel Mountain Preschool have many extra activities that they provide for their students. My son has only been there for a few weeks and so far he's seen fire trucks, snow day, concerts, literature alive, pumpkin patch, santa and the list keeps going on. The classroom sizes are small so the teachers can really focus and interact with each and every one of their students and give them the attention that they need. I highly recommend CMP and taking a tour to see what they are all about!

We are over the moon thrilled with Carmel Mountain Preschool. We had our daughter in a home daycare for the past 3 years and had an amazing experience. We knew she was ready for school but were reluctant since we loved where she was at. I interviewed 3 preschools and never got the feeling that it was the one. From the moment I started my tour with CMP I knew this was where she needed to be. The office staff and teachers are exceptional. They are so flexible and always have fun activities for the kids. The teachers are so good about taking pictures regularly and writing us notes every day to tell us what the kids did that day. I feel extremely lucky to have had the best daycare experience and now the best preschool experience. There is no other school quite like CMP. Our daughter has been enrolled for 5 months now and still is excited EVERY morning to go to school.

We have been with CMP for over 3 years, and have 2 more years to go with our two boys. CMP is a true gem in the RP area. We initially toured all preschools around the neighborhood and immediately fall in love with CMP. You never saw a preschool treasure so much about sending the kids free with their inner spirit. The super spacious playground, the Glenn, the art studio, the endless fun activities, and of course the amazing staff. Over the years, I witness the investment CMP put into the school. None of the upgrading was superficial. All were to enrich the kids school day, to make the school more eco friendly and more secured. We have experienced so many amazing teachers, Ms Heather, Ms Maddie, Ms Liezel, Ms Ara, Ms Margret, Ms Liz, Ms Lisa...All of you are so devoted and loving. I appreciate the fun you brought to my little ones and accompany them in their earlier years.

I really love CMP. My son loves his classroom and teachers and is always up early on school days ready to go! He enjoys all the extra activities that the school offers, like art and music, and I love that the school makes us feel like we are part of their family. I look forward to sending our littlest one to CMP once he is old enough. Thank you for providing such a great learning environment for our son.

We love being a part of the CMP family! We've now been at the school for almost two years. When a work promotion gave us only a few weeks to move, our biggest concern was finding just the right place for us. As soon as we walked onto the campus at CMP, we knew we had found a school unlike any other. The staff was warm and welcoming from the very beginning. We loved all of the amenities available to the students.
Over these past two years, we have enjoyed field trips, family concerts, Snow Days, and other special events. What I love the most (and my son too!) are the gardening, science and music programs in the Glenn as well as Messy Art activities. We have never been part of a school that is so well-rounded, not only academically, but offers such amazing opportunities for the kids to explore nature, science and art.
I love that the schools snacks are organic and that they use all natural soaps and cleaning products. These things are very important to us in our home, and its wonderful that at school we dont need to worry about exposure to harmful chemicals.
Thank you CMP for being an extension of our home and providing our son with a loving, nurturing environment!

We couldn't be happier!! We started our son, age 2.5, at CMP in August 2015. This was his first "away from home" experience, as he had been at home with Mom since birth. I found CMP on a referral from a friend, and couldn't be happier. Each school day (he is there 3 half days a week, for now!), he is excited to get up and go to school. He excitedly grabs his lunchbox, runs into the room, without a second look back at Mom. At pick up each day, he tells me everything he did that day, and waves goodbye to his amazing teachers, Ms Liz and Ms Margaret.
His vocabulary and speech have grown leaps and bounds since he started, and his social skills are just outstanding. I did not need the child care, and so sending him at this age was a voluntary choice on our part. Looking back, it was one of the best decisions we have made. We couldn't be happier with the experience, and the amazing caring staff (teachers and office!) at CMP.
UPDATED DECEMBER 2016
A year ago, I wrote the above review, based on our short, but wonderful experience with CMP. Now, my son has been enrolled for another year, and things are only getting better! He stayed through the summer program (LOVED IT), and we increased his time there. He is in a new classroom this year, and he did great with all the changes. The staff makes transitioning to a new room, with a new teacher, and new kids and new schedule so easy! He loves everyone there, and has so much fun saying hi to EVERYONE! Every day when we leave, he stops in the office for his daily hug from Ms Gina or Ms Donna. CMP is great, and when little sister is ready, we can't wait for her to start!

We love this preschool ! Our 3y/o has grown tremendously in the short time she has been here. There is a wonderful balance with helping the children grow emotionally , socially and intellectually. We appreciate that the teachers really focus on fostering the children's independence. Also the staff does a great job of communicating with the parents. My wife and I are confident that this is the best place our daughter can be right now. We highly recommend CMP!

My 3 year old son started with Carmel Mountain Preschool three months ago and we couldn't be happier with the set up. He had been with a full time nanny since he was three months old, but we wanted him to have more integration with other children so decided to enroll him for half days when he was 2. We were pretty nervous about the whole thing and visited a lot of preschools. With most of them we walked away feeling a bit disheartened.
Carmel Mountain Preschool has great energy and the grounds are beautiful. There is so much space and such a variety of things/places for the kids to explore. We don't feel he's been cooped up in a little classroom all day which is how we felt about other preschools we visited. We walked away from our tour feeling like we would love to have our son attend this preschool.
Our experience so far has lived up to our expectations. Our son loves going and always has stories to tell us about the fun things he's done - bounce houses, fire trucks visiting, planting seeds, etc. His classroom posts pictures once a week, so we get to see what he's been up to all week and talk to him about it. He's established a close bond with his teachers which as a parent, you love to see.
He was partially potty trained when we enrolled him and delayed in his speech. He's made big strides in his language skills since he started and is also completely potty trained which is huge. We love Carmel Mountain Preschool, and plan to keep him here until he's ready for kindergarten!

Our close friends have children who attend Carmel Mountain preschool. They can't say enough great things about the school and the kids are doing wonderful. We are now considering it for our 14 month old!

My granddaughter (4) and grandson (2) have been attending CMP since June. From the moment we entered the school I knew this was the place to send them. My granddaughter has been learning her letters and how to write words. My grandson, who can be challenging, has been doing wonderful. His teachers say he is one of the best listeners in the class! Thank you CMP for all that you do!

Our 3 y/o has been there for 6 months and LOVES it. It really feels like a family because the staff knows our daughter by name and always greet us with a smile. They have a variety of extra activities kids can participate in like music, Spanish, yoga and ceramics. We appreciate the variety of ways the school includes family and friends in activities such as ice cream socials, outdoor concerts, etc. Our daughter has grown leaps and bounds in the short time she has been there. They really create a fun environment for learning. It's worth every penny!

My daughter has been going to CMP for 2 years and its really amazing how far she has come. Her vocabulary and social skills have blossomed. The teachers truly are about the kids and go out of their way to give the kids hugs and and encouragement. There are SO many extra circulars the school has set up to give these children well rounded education and constantly keeping the parents abreast of what is going on.

We have had no incidences with any sort of bullying. The teachers are ever present during play time and discipline the children effectively.

The staff is caring and kind to meet the needs of the individual students. This is a wonderful learning environment. Thank you CMP!

5 stars. Without a doubt. We moved here from out of state and had no idea as to the preschools in the area. Upon our first visit to CMP we had no doubt that this was the preschool for our three boys. The facilities are amazing, including multiple, age-specific playgrounds, The Glenn, where the kids learn about gardening, The Studio, where kids learn art with CMP's Master Artist, and even a soccer field. Music classes, hip-hop dance, Spanish, yoga, ballet, gymnastics and PERK classes are all available to CMP students...and the kids love it!
The CMP staff is beyond dedicated to each child and to keeping children's families up to date about all things going on at CMP; we love the fact that the teachers email us pictures of our boys and their friends playing and learning together throughout the week.
As one would expect, a school this dedicated to an amazing learning environment leads to kids who receive an unbelievable advantage when they move on from CMP. Our now eight-year-old son graduated from CMP and moved on to his elementary school and it quickly became apparent that he and his CMP classmates were VERY well prepared for strong success, with exceptional reading, math and social skills.
As you can tell from the above, we are big fans of CMP and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a preschool that stands out among the rest!

Had a hard time to transition my toddler from the comforts of a house to the routine of a school when I started with a few in the locality. Then came across CMP and got impressed at the tour itself. No wonder why my almost turning 3 years old started to love going to this school which gave me a satisfaction that he's been taken care of. Whether it was his 2 years class of Miss Ariel and Miss Angie or the new 3 years class of Miss Ashley and Miss Heather, the twinkling in his eyes by the end of the day let's me know that he had a wonderful day well spent! Love the concept of the Glenn and the art studio which allows the kids to look forward to,apart from the class activities and the playground. Another best thing is that parents are well informed about the activities and get to participate in many of them like Thanksgiving picnics, Halloween costume parade, concerts.. to name some! Shutterfly has all the pictures of the week and events which is a fun to browse through.
Overall one of the best preschools for overall development of the young futures of our society.

This is our second year at Carmel Mountain Preschool and we are still loving it. Our son is just turning four and loves going to preschool, which speaks volumes. I am impressed with CMP for a number of reasons. First, they really care about your child as an individual and there is a genuine feeling of family throughout the school. They call me or email me regularly to update me on the progress of my son, or just events that are happening at the school. In fact, Arianne, the CFO, just called me the other day to give me a recipe for an essential oil mix in which I had expressed interest. The teachers are INCREDIBLE. Our son's teachers are Miss Triana and Mrs. Chrystal and they seem to have never-ending patience, enthusiasm, and love for my son. There is nothing better than to see your child hug his teacher and say, "I love you" at the end of the day as it confirms he is in the right place! Plus, the educational experiences are top-notch! In the past few months they have had an African-drumming performance, a Hullaballoo band performance, a field trip to the pumpkin patch, an interactive book performance (the kids acted out the scenes in a book as a play), and a SNOW FOAM DAY where they played in snow made of Dr. Bronner's soap, and more.
This school embodies what I call "Whole Child Learning." They have an incredible core curriculum that explores all the areas of traditional learning where they experience reading, math and rad science experiments, but they also incorporate music into lessons, visit the art studio regularly, practice fitness every week, and learn about social skills daily. There is an amazing art studio, a nature lab, and a garden called "The Glenn." Additionally, CMP cares about the health of your child and feeds my son wholesome organic snacks. They seem to be constantly thinking of how to incorporate new ideas, better educational products, and fun experiences into every day. You just can't go wrong with this preschool!
I feel 100% confident that CMP is establishing a love of learning within my child, which is linked to future success in school and later in life. As a parent I'm so grateful and can say that this school is part of our family now and always will be because of the foundation it has set for our son.

My daughter has been attending Carmel Mountain Preschool for 6 months now. She started when she was 18 months old in the toddler program. She absolutely loves it at school. Shes learned so much already letters, numbers, colors, shapes, counting, etc. Her vocabulary has grown tremendously. Every day and every week there is something new on the class schedule. The school hosts lots of fun events such as the Hullabaloo concerts, police car and fire truck visits, snow days, bubble days. Theres just so many to list. The school has a garden where the kids can do hands-on activities and learn about life science. They also have an outdoor art studio where the kids can get messy and a musical garden where the kids can try out some cool instruments. There are separate playgrounds for each age group which is wonderful so you dont have to worry about the older kids overpowering the little ones. This school has so much to offer to keep your kid engaged with fun learning activities. The staff genuinely cares for your child like their own. The teachers and staff are just awesome and they all do such a great job with the kids! The tuition may seem high but it is well worth it. Although this is a large preschool with many students, the staff is very personable and treats you like family very welcoming. We plan on enrolling my youngest when hes old enough.

Posted: November 28, 2016
Yes it is. This can be seen in the extraodinary attitude of the staff.
Posted: November 28, 2016
Yes it does. Our granddaughter has told us many times about how they are practicing and working on respecting each other.

Yes they are very effective because the children are learning as well as happy.

We really do not know as we are not local to the area. Our granddaughter is student at CMP in the Pre-K program, I don't know if she has homework assignments. The subject has never come up either with our granddaughter or her parents.

This Fall our Granddaughter who is now in the Pre-K program, began her second year at Carmel Mountain Preschool. Every morning she is full of enthusiasm and ready to head out the door for school. As grandparents who are not local, we dont get to see this excitement every day, but when we are in town we are so very impressed with how she has mastered her letters, letter sounds and numbers. We spend time watching and listening to her new found delight in her ability to read and write.
We are absolutely positive this comes from the incredible learning environment that is in place at CMP. During our visits to the school we have seen how busy the children are, interacting with one another whether they are outside releasing energy or inside working quietly at their tables. You can see their joy when learning a new letter or a set of numbers or maybe a new shape. We have also found that CMP isnt just school all the time. There are many after school planned activities plus many events for getting the whole family involved with their preschool child. And some days are spent on fun filled field trips visiting places the children are always curious about.
This is not an ordinary preschool. This is a 1st class, well organized, very clean environment with an exceptional staff. We wish to thank everyone who is responsible for making CMP our familys preschool of choice.

We love CMP! Our daughter has auditory processing sensitivities and we were very careful about finding the right preschool for her. This is our second year and we couldn't be happier! If we could keep her there for her entire education we would! ;) We were initially drawn by the friendly, caring staff and the unique opportunities to learn at The Glenn, The Studio (and at that time, Mr. Joe and his animals!) And when we found out that CMP uses natural cleaners and offers organic food, we couldn't have been more excited! We continue to be impressed. The staff goes above and beyond and has been really understanding of our family's/ daughter's needs. The extra-curricular activities offered are great, from the field trips to the extra classes to the family events! The improvements to the school over the last year focusing more on nature and nature-play are loved by these 2 zookeeper parents! Thank you CMP!

We absolutely love Carmel Mountain Preschool! My daughter always comes home with a story about all her new friends and teacher Mrs Marisol, and then tells me how awesome her day was. We love that it makes her happy and her socialization skills are so much better, but we also love the environment, with the Glenn, art studio and nature lab. And the big musical instruments near the playground are amazing! Teachers and staff...thank you for making our daughter feel so welcome and want to go to preschool!

I highly recommend carmel Mountain Preschool. My daughter has attended Carmel Mountain Preschool since August and we are very happy with the program. She comes home happy each day from school. She adores her teachers, Ms. Maddi and Ms.Lacey, and the administration has been incredible and very accommodating to our unique family needs. Her teachers are so loving and provide positive and educational learning opportunities throughout the school day. The children are provided with lots of self-directed play time throughout the day and fed healthy organic snacks during snack time. CMP is a wonderfully positive learning environment and any child would be lucky to attend such a special school. We are so thrilled to have found CMP!

I cannot recommend CMP enough! My daughter started in the 3 year old classroom in March with the amazing and sweet Miss Lisa as her teacher. I quickly saw a difference in my daughter (who has been in preschool since 8 months old). She started recognizing letters and numbers and became aware of the planets! She loves the splash days, snow/foam days, and finding treasures in the sand pit almost everyday haha. Just one month after starting the 4 year old program, she's starting to write her name! I love the art projects, the studio, and also the garden. Also- the teachers always write up a little summary of what the class learned that day in case your kid says "I don't know!" Haha. This is such a hands on learning establishment. You can tell that the kids really enjoy their school.

My 2 1/2 year old son started at Carmel Mountain preschool in Fall 2015 and it was the first time he was away from a parent for the day. It was hard at first for him to leave us, but Ms. Liz and Ms. Margaret did a great job handling it. They kept us updated via email and photos so we knew he was doing well and enjoying his time at school. Now he is happy to go to school and loves seeing his teachers and friends! We highly recommend Carmel Mountain Preschool.

Without hesitation, I give CMPS the highest rating. Finding a preschool that has it all is certainly a challenge. CMPS has not only a beautiful facility, but highly qualified, loving teachers and staff, a child-centered curriculum that inspires a love of learning, and a family-focused mission that will appeal to all. Our daughter has flourished under the guidance of her teachers who should be commended for their daily, tireless efforts in the classroom. Thank you, Carmel Mountian Presschool for providing everything we could have ever hoped for in a preschool experience.

We enrolled our first son in Carmel Mountain Preschool when he was 2 years old and since that time he has blossomed into an amazing 5 year old boy. The teachers at CMP are outstanding and have been instrumental in our son building confidence and social skills in a very nurturing environment. I cant thank them enough! The staff at CMP are also exceptionally helpful and friendly and makes the environment so welcoming for the kids. Everywhere you turn there is a friendly face ready to help. Currently, our son is in the kinder-prep classroom, which has been so fun for our son! I cant say enough about his teachers. They engage the kids and truly love what they do and it shows. The enrichment programs are also amazing (music, art, gymnastics, woodworking, time at the Glenn) and its wonderful to see the kids love learning. Learning is a lifelong process and it is so important to have this positive experience at this age. Just recently, we enrolled our 18 month old in CMP and he is already thriving. He is all smiles and absolutely loves his teachers!!! Both of our boys are very attached to their parents but CMP helped make the transition smooth and we love seeing them learn and grow. I highly recommend CMP!!!

We are so happy we found CMP for our son! It was just what we were looking for after struggling with him in other environments. Their philosophy and approach is ideal. Kind and loving but firm teachers, plenty of exercise and time to play and explore, learning about their world around them and not just school work. We also love that he is getting exposed to music and language already! Our son has made so much progress in his first 6 months, we wish we had found them long ago.

We love CMP! We enrolled our son when he turned three and had visited many different preschools in the area before making our decision. After our first visit we were sold and knew that this would be the right place for him. Everyone there is amazing - the staff are so friendly and helpful and the teachers are truly special and really care about the kids in their class. As soon as our daughter was old enough to enroll, we were fully convinced that this was the right place and enrolled her at the beginning of this school year.
Both kids love going to school in the morning and I feel that they have unbelievable connections with their teachers. They have learned so much, we are consistently amazed with the things they are picking up! The field trips are great and they have some wonderful events that happen at the school for both the kids as well as the families which have allowed us to connect to other parents in the area which has been great. I would highly recommend anyone with young children enrolling their children here as we have been not but impressed with CMP.

This is a preschool. "Homework" is the occasional collage, so it isn't something that is entirely applicable at the moment.

CMP's teachers are gentle with students and understand how to teach moral issues in a developmentally appropriate way. Three year olds are learning the new skills of honesty, integrity and fairness daily. Each learning opportunity is based on the situation at hand and my child feels understood and loved each and every day.

Some things are just meant to be.
When my husband and I were looking for the right preschool for our son, we had scheduled a day full of tours at other schools. It was a long day and we weren't sure we would have time after our other visits to make the drive to Carmel Mountain. I hadn't scheduled a tour so I called and was told to just pop by. We all came over, but honestly, I was pretty confident our son would be attending a different preschool we toured earlier. So, I thought we were just "covering our bases."
However, as soon as we had finished walking through the building and playgrounds I had changed my mind about our previous decision and knew our place was at CMP. I could tell immediately that CMP wasn't just going to be a preschool, but a second family for my son. All of the staff were so genuine and even during our tour, made a connection with my son. The facilities are top-notch and it is truly a place for excellent and safe play and learning.
One of the main goals we have for our child is to be a life-long learner and to be taught skills in such a way that it feels like a organic and natural process. This is accomplished beautifully at CMP. We are more interested at this point in social skills building and simply the process of being curious about the world. To be able to have trained staff helping with that development at CMP is priceless.
Another key in determining our decision to attend CMP was their willingness to be sensitive to our specific type of parenting when it comes to healthy detachment. We worked so hard with our son to first build a healthy attachment and at nearly three, it can hard for a little one to leave his mommy during the school day. Our son's teachers have been instrumental in helping my son transition gently to his school day.
We love all of the variety of programs and activities that our son gets to experience at CMP. We will forever think of CMP as an extended part of our family and are so grateful our son is in their care!

My two children attend CMP, one in the toddler program and one in the Pre-K program, so we have some experience in different classrooms. Both my kids love it there. I think the single best thing about the school is the teachers. All of them are absolutely amazing and love the kids. My youngest had some trouble adjusting to going to preschool and her teachers consistently made school a fun and happy place. She now looks forward to going to school and there aren't any more tears at drop off.
The other thing I love about CMP is all of the fun activities, including a snow day for the kids, a hullabaloo concert, and a holiday program. And that was all just this fall! If you are looking for a school with that stimulates your child's development, while they have a fun day, then check out CMP. We are so happy we found it!

CMP is amazing! The staff is fantastic and the teachers are excellent. I have seen wonderful changes in our daughter since starting school. She is more confident, improved vocabulary and enunciation of words, as well as an increased ability to interact with kids her own age. Highly recommend this school.

Carmel Mountain Preschool is the best preschool in the area. The staff all care tremendously about the children and families and are always there to go above and beyond. We have been part of the CMP family for over 4 years and we love it. The teachers are caring and supportive, but the curriculum is extremely on-point as well. Our older daughter, now a Kindergartener, learned so much from CMP, that her transition to Kindergarten was a breeze. She also attends the CMP before and after school program now. Our little toddler has been in the toddler and now 2-year old program. We can't say enough about the teachers and staff.

Our family has been at this school for 5 years. My older daughter started when she was 3 and my younger one started in the toddler program (18mos). This school has a great curriculum and staff. But more than anything else the teachers are loving, nurturing and smart. They teach and inspire knowledge while instilling self-confidence and promoting kindness. This school is a step above the rest and I cannot recommend CMP high enough!

The school is like one big family. The owners really take pride in the school--it was already great when we started there a few years ago, but they are always coming up with innovative ways to make it even better, from upgrading to the latest equipment to offering new enrichment programs (included with tuition). This year the teachers all have classroom email addresses and they are sending pictures and updates on a regular basis. I will have those classroom stories and pictures in my email forever! Love it.

Carmel Mountain Preschool is focused on inspiring and educating the whole child. The strong academic learning is complimented by social and emotional learning. Children are exposed daily to the arts, imaginative play, and even have extra-curricular opportunities for language, musical and athletic learning. The staff is kind, caring and talented. The operating hours are perfect for working parents. We couldn't be happier with CMP.

My Wife and I had our daughter in an At-home daycare until the she was 2 (she'll be 3 in January). The daycare provider was good, but she was not providing the cognitive stimulation our daughter desperately needednot to mention, our little one was developing some bad behavior being around kids older than her. My wife, an Educator, wanted nothing short of the best preschool in the area; I wanted a great school at a reasonable cost. After visiting several schools in the area, we toured Carmel Mountain Preschool. We knew instantly this was the school. Not only is it one of the best preschools in our area; I couldnt complain about the costour boxes were checked. Seriously, the reason we chose Carmel Mountain Preschool was simple, every child we saw that morning had a smile on their face. I attribute this to the amazing staff. I cant say it enough, the entire staff is wonderful. One last tidbit to let you know its a great school. When I wake our daughter up on Monday mornings, she says, Daddy, is today a school day? I say, Yes, its Monday. She says, Finally! Visit the school, you wont be disappointed--your child wont either.

We sent our children to independent day cares until this year when we enrolled our three-year-old in Carmel Mountain Preschool. What little trepidation we had was dispelled early on when we met the faculty that would be caring for her and when we noticed her communication skills increasing daily. We have been thrilled with the progress of our child has displayed after only a few months of attending CMP. In addition the teachers at the preschool were integral in potty training our daughter, which was a huge help considering the amount of reinforcement required. Furthermore, they have such a vast array of stimulating exercises and events (i.e. wildlife exposure, gardening, field trips) that keeps our daughter engaged. She loves her friends and her teachers and we are so grateful we decided to enroll her.

I had driven by Carmel Mountain Preschool a million times and always figured that it would be out of our price range, and in spite of that, I made an appointment to tour the preschool. I am so glad that I did! Gina was so friendly and showed me around the school. I was totally impressed with the campus- both indoors and outdoors. It proved to be within our budget, so after touring two other less expensive facilities, which could not even begin to compare with CMPS, I enrolled my daughter at CPMS. Within two months of beginning, our 3 year old was potty trained and loving school. She adores her teachers, Miss May and Miss Melissa, and we could not be more pleased with her progress. She sings songs, marches around the house practicing letter sounds, and her sight-sound recognition improves daily. We love CMPS and are so pleased with our daughter's progress and apparent happiness. The staff are truly caring and dedicated to our daughter's experience. I would recommend this preschool to anyone seeking quality care and education for their child.

We couldn't ask for a better experience when it comes to preschool. Carmel Mountain exceeded our expectations with our firstborn. We love that they offer a wide variety of activities for the children. It was a no brainer when we needed care for next child. When it comes to staff it's a comforting feeling knowing that they are educated and loving teachers and administration. The schools curriculum is spot on, and they prepare the children well for Kindergarten. Thank you CMP!

Our 2.5 year old son started at CMP 9 months ago. He has had two sets of teachers transitioning from the two year old group to the 2.5 year old group and I cant say enough about the love, care and attention each and every one of his teachers has shown him. The teachers and staff are friendly and communicative they are the type of folks that know the names of all the kids at the school AND their parents! Developmentally our son seemed to take off after being at CMP for just a few weeks, his communication skills in particular. Now he is constantly surprising us with his vocabulary, telling us about his friends, his trips to the Glen or his messy art projects. The environment is clean and secure, in fact I am always amazed at how clean his classroom is each day when I pick him up. The floors are freshly mopped and everything is in its place. I love picking up my son each day after school and he smells like little boy a mixture of sunscreen and sweat with shoes full of sand from playing so hard with his friends. This is a fantastic place for kids and I would recommend to anyone.

Love everything about this school! Our daughter has been going here for almost two years now and we have had wonderful teachers plus she has learned so much. She really likes the outdoor classroom where they teach about animals and plants and the messy art area too. We really like that the snacks provided are mostly organic and the staff here is wonderful. I highly recommend CMP!

Our now 2.5 year old started at CMP in February after spending his previous days with Grandma. We toured several day cares in the area but somehow overlooked CMP in our initial run. Luckily, we were referred by parents at our neighborhood park and made the great decision to check it out.
It was a rough start for our little guy with all the unfamiliar faces and surrounding, but his teachers in the toddler class (Ms. Ellen, Ms. Maya, Ms. Marguerite) were very patient, kind, and loving in helping him get adjusted. While the drop offs were rough for the first few weeks, with him not wanting to be put down and crying when me or mom turned to go, he gradually warmed up as he became more comfortable. I'll never forget the day when it all changed and he walked over to play with one of his new buddies.
It has been so encouraging to see his development really take off under the guidance of the teachers in his toddler class, and now with a few new teachers in the 2 year old class (Ms. Ariel, Ms. Lisa). We love how he will start singing songs he's learned at school, and he loves talking about his friends and even has named some characters in books at home after the teachers at school. He now gets excited in the morning when its time to go and will grab his lunch box and head out the garage door.
They keep the kids engaged with a ton of different activities, time on the playground, storytime, messy art at the glenn, nature talks with Mr. Joe, time in the campus garden, and more. Our favorite thing about the school is the community of teachers that are involved in his life. From the his own teachers, to teachers in parallel classes, to the administrators at front, they all show that they are personally invested in building our son up to be a confident, curious, and happy toddler. With an upcoming move out of state, we can only hope to find a new school that offers everything as CMP. We will definitely miss it and know our son will too.

Sending our two daughters to Carmel Mountain Preschool has been one of the best decisions we have made for our children.
The teachers and staff are welcoming, loving, caring and dedicated to the success of each and every child in their care. Both of our children love learning and love school, and CMP has been crucial in that cultivation of positive feelings they have. Our eldest has excelled in Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade to date, which we believe is in no small part to the joy she associated with school from the first day she arrived at CMP.
Our 3 year old, currently enrolled at CMP, cant wait to arrive at school every day and talks about her teachers and friends on the weekends with eager anticipation of getting back to see them on Monday. There is nothing more that we could ask then to instill excitement for learning into our children and CMP has delivered time and time again!

I enrolled my child part time starting this past summer and so far our experience with the school has been great. Everyone always have a smile on the face and the teachers are loving as well. I feel like I have made an excellent decision to enroll my child to the school. When it comes time that he goes to K and elementary school, he can come back to CMP for after school so it won't be totally foreign to him.

This is our 2nd year attending CMP. My daughter started in the 3 year old program and is now in Pre-K. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about the school. The curriculum, Art studio with Mrs. Julie, The Glenn, Jungle Joe and all the other activities/programs offered and just amazing. My daughter has so many great stories to share about her experiences! I also love the monthly news letters that are sent out and the fact they are always posting to social media. It makes me feel like I know what's going on from day to day. I would highly recommend CMP! We love this school <3

We enrolled our daughter (she's 2) earlier this year and have been very happy with this school. Her teachers (Miss Haley and Miss Brittany) are awesome and genuinely care about her and the other children. All of the staff are super nice and very helpful, I've never had a bad experience with any of them. This school was recommended to me by a friend and I always recommend it to any one who inquires about childcare/preschool.

I wholeheartedly recommend CMP to everyone who asks me where to send their child. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about the school or the staff. They have been so attentive, nurturing, caring, and accommodating. Our son started in the 18 month class after never having gone to daycare anywhere, and they made the transition so incredibly easy for us. He loves his teachers and his little friends he has made. I love the fact that all of the staff know who you are and who your child is when walking around- it makes it feel like a big family. The school grounds are clean and spacious. I never worry about my son when he is at school.

We have been at Carmel Mountain Preschool for the past 2 years, and love it! Miss Claudia is an amazing teacher. She has a remarkable way with children, and she has helped our Daughter grow in so many ways. in addition, the rest of the Staff is fantastic. They truly care about each and every student.

CM Preschool has so many positives it's tough to capture them all in a short review. I'll start with the staff from the Directors to the teachers all really care about the well being of your child. Our son has grown socially and academically since attending CMP. This place is professionally ran which gives us parents piece of mind when dropping off such precious cargo for the day. The grounds are well thought out and atypical in a really good way. I am really happy we found this preschool.
Thanks CMP!

We love CMP. Our oldest son started in the 2 year old program over 6 years ago and we followed suit with our younger son. Both boys still attend CMP, now as part of their terrific before-and-after-school care program for elementary school-aged kids. Every teacher we've had at CMP has been fantastic, as are the staff. I'm impressed with their ability to continue to recruit and retain high-quality staff. We recommend CMP whenever we get the chance and are always a little sad when we hear from friends whose children are going elsewhere - they have no idea what they're missing! I know our children are safe, loved, nurtured, and well-educated there. Our kindergartner is now repeating in public school everything Miss Christina already taught him in kinder-prep - he's so ahead of the game from his time at CMP. And our 2nd grader is a voracious reader, no doubt due to CMP helping to foster a love of reading. CMP gives each of our boys a new book every year for their birthday - how sweet is that?? We could not be happier with the quality of the administration, the teachers, the facilities or the program. We'll miss CMP when our boys finally age-out. Thankfully, that's still years away!

Carmel Mountain Preschool has been a part of our family for the last 7 1/2 years. My first son attended from 2 through Kindergarten. My second son attended from 2 through Kindergarten Prep. And my daughter has attending for 2 years and is currently enrolled in the 3 year old program. We absolutely love this school. I 100% believe it is the best preschool in San Diego. The entire staff is and always has been amazing. I believe the owners and the directors at the school ensure only the best and most caring teachers for their school. I have always been so impressed with the vested interest they take in the children and all the families. And they continually strive to keep the school safe and updated to provide an exception environment for both education and play. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about this school. Two years ago, our family moved to Poway and we still make the drive back and forth to this wonderful school because it's our family. It's a huge comfort to know that my child is happy and thriving at CMP.

This is my daughter's second year at CMP and we couldn't be more pleased with the teachers, staff and administration. We were fortunate enough for my husband to be home with our daughter until she was 3 years old, so I was nervous about how she would acclimate being away from us and in a new setting with so many people and students. She has thrived and everyone was very patient and accommodating with my personal anxieties. The teachers and administrative staff are welcoming and provide the best for all students. The school's property is hands-down the best I've seen and my daughter is learning more than I thought possible for her age. I wish I could keep her at CMP forever!!!

We have two boys ages 3 and 5 that have attended CMP for that past two years. My husband and I have nothing bad to say about this wonderful school. We have two complete opposite personalities in our children, from a shy and slightly introverted child to an extremely energetic and outgoing child. Both children have shown tremendous growth over the last two years in which they have attended. The staff has always been extremely caring and helpful and truly have the children's best interest in mind. From the owners to the directors and to the teachers, everyone is extremely knowledgable and caring. I cannot imagine my children attending preschool anywhere else. Thank you CMP for providing a wonderful learning and growing environment for my children.

I don't hesitate at all to recommend CMP to friends. After a full year at CMP, our family couldn't be any happier. My then 4 year old daughter began Jan 2014 (5 half-days a week) after moving into the area. She began in a class where everyone had been together for months, and Ms. Christina made her feel right at home, as did all of her classmates. She is now in K, but has to stop and see Ms. Christina for a big hug when we pick up her little sister. The social and academic experience was exceptional and it shows in her continued love for Ms. Christina and in her K class. My 2 (almost 3) year old started in the summer at 5 half-days and loves school so much we moved to 5 full days and eliminated our 1/2 day nanny. Each day she wakes anxious to go to school. Her love for learning is clear as she "reads" books to herself, does "homework" alongside her sister and tells us about her day. We are thrilled with the sound foundation, social skills and love of learning that are instilled by the teachers and staff at CMP. When I explored preschools when we first moved to PQ, their caring nature, organized front office, flexible drop off times and environment were impressive.

You couldn't ask for a better preschool than CMP. My son went through the 2yr-old and 3yr-old classrooms and loved it. He would run down the hall to the classroom every morning - he was so excited to get there. Every teacher and administrator knew him by name, and he knew them. Knew his letters, numbers, beginning math, starting to write...plus great activities like music, making lemonade and selling it to another class, fireman visits, recitals, etc. Great playgrounds and outdoor garden classroom.
