I had a different opinion of Sutter, since their reviews are not as high as other middle schools, but over this past school year I have seen my daughters interest change, her math interest has grown, overall she has become more involved in her academics. Sutter is under-rated and continues to become one of the better middle schools in the valley.

In 7th grade, there were many incidents that occur during the period in which we had subs. Our class screamed racial slurs at the teacher, half of the class ditched at least once, 0we once threw a milk carton at the window and it was stuck and left there for the rest of the semester. Man those were the good times. Also the cops were called and this one kid wouldn't open the door to them.

Nah boi even the teachers were bad. One teacher accused me of stealing, which was even worse considering he fact that I am a proud African American student.

Based on my experience, on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the point where I would rather stay in elementary school, I'd say a 10. All in all, my experience was horrendous, and this school should either be demolished or burnt to the ground like we did to the trash cans. Speaking of trash cans, my friend once threw one over to the elementary school during physical education. That was so funny I would actually rate this school a 9for letting that side.

I would rate my child's experience at this school very good. Thanks to the teachers of there hard work. My son is doing great in all his classes. He had such a wonderful time this year. It is saddening that he is graduating this year 2017, but I am also very proud of him. I would recommend this school to other parents because the teachers are nice and are very good at teaching.

I dont know how this school was years ago but my child has been coming to Sutter since the beginning of the school year. My child has only shared positive things such as the Kind Club and the activities they do in assemblies. My child has also shared the lunchtime events where students sit together, play games and encourage others to join and participate. My child has also shared about the Circle groups that they do with the class and teacher on a weekly basis and how she feels more accepted by her peers and feels more comfortable to speak to her teacher. She gets homework on a daily basis and I have access to her progress. I feel welcome anytime I come to the school.

Recent visit to teachers who changed my life. I went here like 5 yrs ago and it was different. There would have never been kids who looked high just hanging out with security right there like nothing. I know some of my favorite teachers are getting ready to leave because of problems and it makes me sad for everyone specially teachers who changed my life.

This school has many "fights" and there is no control of this, fights continue and do nothing to stop, teachers of the Grade 6 do not care education academic.. my daughter tells me the teacher is sleeping in the class.... do something this for this school

Well If you are a parent who loves no explanations to any of your answers, numerous phone calls unanswered/not returned than this is the school for you.This is a no tolerance for bullying school however in 4 months over 30 fights have occured and these students roam the school days to follow talking bout the fight and planning a rematch.Where is the reprimandation for these terrible acts of violence? When has it become okay to curse out a teacher in class write profanity on the blackboard spit at a teacher and return to school the next day? I worry for the safety of my child and the safety of other children not to mention hard working teachers! Shame Shame Shame!

My son attended Sutter for three years and as a Parent I was involve in my sons education. I am very happy with his teachers and the staff was very helpful when I had any parent concerns. Teachers are always willing to help my son and I. Parent Center was always available when I needed the help.

Teachers are great. Student body is weak. Many students pick on students with special needs (slandering them with verbal remarks and glares). Students need to be educated on accepting everyone with various abilities.

My school is great and i think everyone should go here because ive been new this to this school and have been going here for about 1 week and im a 6th grader. This school made me feel welcome like its a new family for me to enter. My friend has been bullied in another school and she said that she will be going to sutter when were in 7th grade. I was really glad that my friend will now go to a bully safe enviroment. All the teachers are great and i hope that these 3 years will go by smoothly. I love sutter and i look forward to my time in John A. Sutter Middle School

This school has top notch special education teachers and assistants. General education staff and students need intense inservices on special education and on bullying. Needs for many special education students are not met in many of the general education classes (and the gen ed teachers are not getting the support they need to include students with various challenges). I hope that Sutter wins the $5000.00 . The school needs lots of educational materials and extra curricular classes for ALL their students.

Sutter has been a great school for my child. The teachers really care about her and she enjoys going to school there. The campus is beautiful and I have had nothing but positive experiences.

One thing that I love about this school is the SAS classes, which might prove to be difficult to some, but the amount of knowledge gained are worth it. My academic writings had become more eloquent when I learned of the hidden weapons of a good writer. My Algebra skills escalated when the teacher taught us the shortcuts and ways to solve a difficult formula, as a result, my CST scores jumped to the next level. This cannot be possible without the help that the teachers provided as well as the cooperation between student and teacher. However, while the SAS classes represented the beautiful outer shell, its inner are not as much good. The students behaved disrespectfully, cussed everyday, out of dress code and therefore gained detentions. This result as a wall that will prevent them from graduating, but the staff of Sutter provided opportunities for them to walk across the stage. Another thing to note is that the environment is not one of the best kind. Trash everywhere, spilled milk near the foul smelled trash cans, splotches of gums contrast against the pavement. Sutter have excellent teachers, staff, as well as programs, main problems concerned students' behavior and the milieu.

I was a student here, a regular. I'm asian, they disrespected me, yelled at me, threw stuff at me, caused racism. Everybody fought, did graffiti, at least theres no drugs in this school. The teachers are very nice, but student life is horrible. I do not recommend this school for any parent who does not want a bad environment for their child. This school, scarred me for life.
