This school is horrible, the teachers and administrators don’t care about you and they take stuff very personal. They don’t care about how you feel until it’s to late. Do NOT go here, you WILL regret it.

After multiple years teaching at VAMS, I am still amazed at what the school does for it's students and for the community. I'm thankful to have found this school at this point in my career. I am a stronger teacher since coming to VAMS, I have strong skills, I'm supported professionally and personally and am overwhelmingly content with how our student community is treated and supported.

Enrolling my daughter at Valor Academy Middle School has been the best decision as a parent I could've made. I have seen her self esteem and academic confidence grow through the support she's been provided. The level of support she receives academically and I receive as a parent is something I've never experienced. Valor has taught my daughter skills that she will be able to use in her everyday life and her future. The values that are embedded in the culture make her seen & heard by all and that's something that I couldn't be more thankful for. The communication and prompt response from teachers and counselors really makes me feel like my daughter is cared for. Thank you Valor Academy for making a space feel home for my daughter where she can be anything and is supported to reach for the stars.

For some people, the homework might be more than other schools, but the teachers guide you through it and give you help.

The teachers there actually care about what they are teaching students and are able to make lessons fun yet still be very informative.

The students at this school are instilled to be respectful and take pride in what they do. While other schools have mission statement that some kids go years without actually understanding them at Valor from the first day you are taught to repect other and have a community with those around you.

I know that this is meant to be written by parents but I was a student and I can say that without a doubt that Valor is an amazing school. There were many amazing opportunities that you can't find unless you're at a private school. In those four years, I was able to go camping in Idyllwild, Utah (visit the Grand Canyon), Catalina Island, Big Bear, and I was also able to tour big-name universities like UCLA, UCS, LMU, UCSB, UCB, UNLV, Cal Poly, Stanford, and Berkley. How many people by the age of 14 can say that they have done that too? These trips aren't available to everyone though. No it not it goes to the person with the most money, all year students work hard to be in the top 60, or 70 to go to these field trips. This seems like a little but do keep in mind; it is a small school with about 120 students per grade.

Is the best school all the staff's are wonderfull and worries about their students and encourages them to be a good person and to get educated.this is like a second home for our kids and they make you feel like home .

My sons are learning a lot. The curriculum is centered around the State standards. The students love the material.

I don't think the work is too much for the average child. The students should be responsible and stay on top of their work daily or it will build up. The teachers do not give the students irrelevant busy work.

Posted: January 6, 2016

The faculty members care about each and every child. They know the strengths and weaknesses of the students. Teachers and out-of-classroom staff work together to make students accountable for their behavior. Most importantly, they tell them what honesty, integrity, and fairness look like.

My boys love going to school every morning and staying as long as possible at the end of the day. The students can be successful because they are clear on what is expected of them. Parents are constantly kept informed on how their children are doing. The curriculum is interesting, challenging, relevant, and to the point. The teachers are intelligent and compassionate. My son went to a small charter school prior to Valor. But, the school lacked "'heart and soul." Children spend too much time at school to be in that kind of environment. Because of my previous experience, I especially love Valor Academy for my children. They are thriving in a safe, structured environment where they do not get away with anything.

Valor Academy Charter is a model charter school in our family's opinion. Teachers are super dynamic, truly engaged in creating a well-educated, respectful, engaged individual and they go above and beyond what any teacher ever did for my husband's, my education and that of our older kids. They are the epitome of a well-organized faculty and thus very effective. Valor Academy is truly making a difference in setting what should be the standard for public education in Los Angeles and other places. Please tour Valor Academy and will see for yourself. Our son loves his school, principal, and all his teachers!

I only have positive things to say about this school. Yes, it is rigorous, a lot is expected of the children -- with their work habits, behavior, appearance. They are on top of everything because they don't want these kids to fail. They focus on academics and keep the kids up to date with current events. Not sure if they have the same tutoring program this year, but it really helped my son last year. I was very impressed with that. Teachers are young and energetic. The school has great field trips and good afterschool program......

The teachers care about the academic achievements of their students and give them all the tools to be successful

i"m new to the school , however ,for what I have experienced so far the school focuses on academic achievement and takes pride in helping all students to reach they're potential. The environment and the values practiced at the school will help my child later in life.
