My daughter attended this school from kindergarten through 8th grade, and she just graduated this Tuesday. Overall, she had a very positive experience during her time there. The school provided both emotional and academic support, which truly helped her grow over the years.
One thing I especially appreciated was the uniform policy. I believe it helped students focus more on learning rather than comparing clothing or appearances. At the same time, I liked that the students were occasionally rewarded with free dress days, which gave them a chance to express themselves.
The staff was supportive, caring, and invested in the students success, and Im grateful for the role they played in my daughters journey.
My only hope moving forward is that they reinstate 5th grade graduation/promotion. As a mom who loves to celebrate her child at every milestone, I was robbed of that opportunity. I also hope the school offers more field trips and outside learning experiences for the students. Fundraising can help cover the expenses for those trips.
Overall, we are thankful for the experience and the foundation the school helped provide for my daughter. If you're looking for a school with diversity and structure I'd highly recommend this school.

Im incredibly grateful for the wonderful experience my children have had at SDGVA. The staff is not only professional but also genuinely caring, creating a nurturing environment where my kids feel valued and supported. The teachers go above and beyond to make learning both engaging and fun, and Ive seen my child grow both academically and personally thanks to their dedication. The schools leadership fosters a strong sense of community, and its clear that everyone involved is committed to the well-being and success of the students. I couldn't be happier with the care and attention my child receives here.

There is nothing negative to say about this school, only compliments and appreciation. I have one child who is still attending and one who just graduated from this school. Their curriculum is designed not only to ensure academic advancement but also to help their students develop self-confidence and grow their minds as critical thinkers. Several graduates from this school, including my child, go to a dual-enrolment, college-setting high school. They are enrolled in community colleges from Grade 9 and are already taking college classes while fulfilling high school requirements at the same time. With the mindset, confidence, discipline, and focus that were trained and developed while attending SDGVA, SDGVA graduates are college-ready right off the bat. If there were no SDGVA, my child would not be where she is now. To achieve the high level of expectation from students, the executive director (Principal Dr Kane), educators, and school staff, including parents, become one team, and if any problem occurs, no matter how big or small it is, or academic or non-academic issues, an individual plan is created and worked with the student. There is no bullying, fighting, or teen peer pressure that I know of to disturb childrens mental health, unlike the horrible stories I hear from other schools, which I cannot even imagine happening to my own children. Because I am so spoiled by this wonderful school, I probably take it for granted and often forget how lucky I am to send my children to this wonderful school. Truly appreciated.

My child attended SDGVA from Kinder to 8th grade. In earlier years my child attended occupational thaerapy from an outside provider. The Executive Director worked with educators, staff, and I to implement consistent strategies to reach mutual goals. In 1st grade, a teacher recommend a local literacy program which helped my child develop tools that contributes to the ferocious reader they are today. Teachers borrowed books from higher grade levels to continue challenging my child, improving vocabulary, critical thinking, and conceptual understanding. Students had meaningful real world connections to "textbook" learning and even civic engagement opportunities. In middle school my child received extra math work because the challenge was motivating. There was individual and small group socioemotional support opportunities. SDGVA is open to feedback and wants your child to reach their full potential. They appreciate home-school partnership, offer chaperone, and other opportunities for parents to contribute. SDGVA has high leadership expectations that focus on growth and offer additional support as needed. Smaller class sizes faciltates more impactful community and relationship building. SDGVA has made an invaluable impact on my child, and I highly recommend.

I went to SDGVA for kindergarten and first grade, i am now a senior in highschool. During elementary school i went to 3 different schools and out of all of them SDGVA has had the biggest impact on my life.
I do not remember how high my school scored on standardized testing or the the hours upon hours spent inside doing busy work, both of which seemed to be my other schools personal creed. What i do remember is being appreciated by those around me. I remember how i was constantly doing something exciting and meaningful and how much those things meant to me at the time. The schools emphasis on hands on learning and community has kept me enlightened through my life.
Today i love learning, I search for opportunity where you would last think to check, I look to the future and find no limit to what i can achieve, I surround those around me with empathy and love. I do not have such a deep devotion to learning because i want to be the best, but because i am undoubtedly curious about this world. I am a leader, I am a friend, and I am a optimist. Why? because those are the same ideals that i was surrounded with when i took the first steps into the rest of my life.
consider this a love letter to my old school.

We have been members of the SDGVA community since 2012 and couldnt imagine our children having attended any other elementary school in San Diego. SDGVA is a family in the truest sense of the word and they will do everything in their power to support the success of all students. We are so grateful for the love and care theyve poured into our kids over the years and wish so badly they offered high school programming. 20/10, highly recommend.

As a veteran educator myself who has been teaching in public education for 21 years K-12 and taught teachers at the graduate level for 10 years, I wholeheartedly recommend SDGVA. I have a healthy respect for their administrators and teaching staff. While academic learning is a priority, so too is the social and emotional well-being of their students and staff. They go out of their way to place equitable supports for all stakeholders involved. As a parent, your voice is valued. Not only do they listen to students and parents, SDGVA takes action to support your family needs. Equity, leadership and literacy are focused on and they are excellent in keeping all stakeholders accountable. They are extremely wonderful and supportive to outside the box students. My oldest was assessed and diagnosed 2E and I was told by his psychologist that either a private school or Waldorf would see him thrive and that hed get lost in any other public school. At SDGVA he has thrived and loves his teachers. Its is a unique school driven by passionate teachers and leaders who do their best by our children. I love how they combine martial arts into their curriculum for all grades along with intramural sports. They still take field trips and have awesome community assemblies where they recognize leadership skills for students and staff. It is truly a wonderful school. I couldnt be any happier and relieved to have my two boys enrolled with them.

I'd like to start by saying that what I love most about this school is that they're helping to teach our young minds to be respectful citizens, leaders in their communites, and all around good humans.
My son entered this school in 5th grade. He was previously enrolled in a Spanish immersion school, however the pandemic really left that model stranded in the dark. Needless to say my son fell behind and was struggling to catch up. I made the decision to pull him out and seek out a traditional model for him. His cousins had attended SDGVA from 3rd-8th grade and always spoke highly of it so we decided to give it a try. Man were we surprised! My son found a home here quickly, and the staff has been incredible. Ms. Brown (5th grade teacher), is amazing, caring, compassionate, and is very invested in her students' success. That's not to say it was entirely on her to make sure my son got where he needed to be, it took a lot of support from us at home too. With her help and guideance though we were able to get our son caught up and ready for 6th grade. He has gained such a love of learning here and I'm excited to see his growth continue! Ms. Kane the principal is heavily involved with her staff and student population and also shows a temendous amount of support towards her students. On that note, this is also the first school I'd give a huge shout out to the administration! They seem to communicate effectively and work together seemlessly to keep the school running efficiently.
**I feel that I should mention that while I scored them high on special education, I myself do not have a special needs child so I'm sort of making an assumption here based on my son's experiences and his interactions with the special needs students.

My son started there in the first grade his teacher was Mrs. Morris. Let me start by saying she is a wonderful educator who went above and beyond for my son ! She saw where he needed help and jumped into action she also often highlighted his strengths which made for a positive impact on his learning experience ! The staff overall is an amazing staff everyone genuinely seems to care about the happiness and well being of the children. I couldnt be more impressed and happy with how they teach the children. They understand that no child is the same and neither is their learning style. They take the time to identify that and do the best they can to meet the child where theyre at ! I am beyond happy with my experience as a parent.

My son has been in global vision for 2 years which means he was part of the pandemic program as a kindergarten student and I cant thank enough the enormous work the teachers and the school put on the at home teaching. They were far and beyond to make sure the kids were learning but at the same time where very aware of kids attention spam and made the best of a very hard year. Last year they return to on site and I just love the learning environment and the community. I love how diverse is our school creating a safe environment for everyone and teaching kids the importance of respect and kindness.

You feel like you have a school Community where everybody is working hard with your family to help all children succeed.
SDGVA is interested in teaching your kids not just the curriculum but also how to be confident in themselves and how to be leaders in their community and to be good people. I feel like these values are priceless.

My experience of this school has been very positive. The teachers are organized and on point. The focus on academics is so refreshing! Our daughter attends the elementary school. They have elementary and middle school. She was struggling in the begging when she started Kinder, she did not attend preschool due to covid but her kindergarten teacher was amazing and very patient with her. My daughter put in the hard work but the mechanisms and structures in place at the school helped her succeed. The entire staff at SDGVA are ver supportive, responsive and trying their best on a daily basis. We feel fortunate to have our daughter accepted into this school. I have nothing but admiration for the excellent work the teachers and head staff are doing at this school.

I really dont know where to start, I need more than 5 stars on this school. As you can see from other parents reviews including mine, this school is the best school in San Diego. Two of my kids are attending to SDGVA, there is nothing better than hearing my kids saying, We love going to school. One of my kids is very shy and not able to speak up her own opinion but I have not seen nor heard any bullying going on this school. Students over all are very respectful, polite and have a good sense of manner. Principal (Ms.Kane) and educators including all other staffs are very caring . Communications are pretty good which means that parents concerns and voices will be heard and taken care of in timely manner. Children get individual attention; they make sure that no students fall behind. There is more good things to say such as having Taekwondo class to learn self-defense, 6to6 programs run by class teachers and school staffs which they learn so many different subjects in each semester (Chess, Water-brush painting, Science and more) , since 6to6 is running by in-house staffs, so the class teacher (REAL educators) do HW with students who are attending 6to6 , not 3rd party company like YMCA staffs.
My point is you wont regret but appreciate sending your child/children to this school.

The principal cares for all of her students, I was afraid at 1st letting my son return to in person but the principal doesn't play with the safety of her students, she made and makes she covid is not on this campus, if your child is failing she go above and beyond duty to get her student help. Thanks for always taking care of my baby.

Back in 2012 when my son was going to start kindergarten, I did a lot of research because charter schools were popping up all over the place. We got into San Diego global vision academy and we accepted and it was the best choice for my son and then 3 years later my daughter. The staff is exceptional! Honestly. The teachers are kind and patient and teach based off individuality and love and guidance. They are a writing charter so my children are wonderful readers and writers and my son just graduated with a 4.0 all throughout middle school! Both my children are very different learners and have very different personalities and they are both thriving at San Diego global vision academy! Everybody there from the principal to the coaches to the teachers to the instructional AIDS to the office staff are just phenomenal! Thank you so much for providing a safe and nurturing environment for my children. I'm truly sad that my son is leaving this wonderful School. But I'm so grateful he had 9 years because he is very well prepared for high school.

If your child is struggling in math, then this is the school for them. Other subjects they do a good enough job. My child went from DS and Fs at Lewis Middle to As and Bs at this school. The teachers here take the time to meet the child where they are with regard to what the child knows and understands. They take them from that level and move them up, ensuring along the way that the child is grasping learning and understanding of the subject matter.
Not all teachers at SDGVA are great. There are going to be exceptions, overall the teachers here are good. Whereas at Lewis they are exceptionally bad. You can see my review of Lewis on the Lewis greatschools site.
If your child is white, they will be a minority and they may be racially discriminated against by the insubordinate children. The leaders try to help but they make it worse, though not purposefully. So dont bother telling them. Help your child see the bigger picture. There is no physical harm, but it can be painful so be ready to help your child through it.

This is our second year here and, as a teacher in another school, Im blown away by the professionalism and commitment of administration, staff and teachers to the total well being of their students. For the first time, my kids have numerous adult role models who look like them; they have pertinent discussions about current topics in class; and they read books that are both relevant and engaging. Thankfully, they write a lot as well and are learning to develop confident, articulate voices.
Instruction is so well thought out and planned. Similarly, the way the administration responded to Covid was so thoughtfully articulated. In spring, my kids never missed a beat when learning transitioned. The same quality instruction they got in person carried over online in a new format that teachers nimbly tackled. Students had space to process the immense changes happening around them in equally thoughtful ways. This summer, SDGVA unveiled a carefully examined plan that the school has executed seamlessly well since. In this new world of learning, teachers remain fully invested in developing quality instruction. We are so grateful for this thoughtfulness and stability in such an uncertain time.

The staff is dedicated, compassionate, empathetic, engaged, responsive and build a partnership with parents to ensure the best educational experience for each child. The school also integrates socio emotional learning, which I believe is key to raising future leaders.

My son started 1st grade here and now is in 2nd grade. We love the school and the staff. The communication to parents is amazing, I always feel up to date and informed about all events. The teachers are easy to reach and I love that every single staff member remembers my son, my husband and I. The teachers are awesome and great in assisting students with any gaps they need extra help with.
This year has been unusual to say the least since COVID closed down school back in March. In October we were fortunate enough for SDGVA to open back up for half day in person school. I was amazed the first day back at pick up, I didn't even need to tell them my son's name, they remembered us after 6 months of being away! They have taken such detailed precautions to keep our kids safe. From the thermometer they gave us that hooks up to an app, to the socially distanced desks and classroom procedures. I feel confident that my son is safe.
We recently had to move back to distance learning and the transition was seamless, the staff had learning bags with laptops ready to go and it was so smooth. I really can't say enough about SDGVA and their top notch staff. I'm excited for things to get back to normal and for my youngest one to start kindergarten there next year.

My daughter started with SDGVA on her 3rd grade year. She developed self-confidence and the love of sports. The teachers and staff are on-top of what every student need since every student is unique and non-alike. My daughter just graduated middle school in a very lovely yet simple ceremony. SDGVA is not just a good school but A GREAT school.

The teachers invest time to really get to know the kids and their unique strengths and areas of improvement. They are extremely attentive, caring and compassionate. There have been many times where Ive been incredibly impressed by the level of dedication the teachers have at this school.

Our kids have been at SDGVA for the last four years and absolutely love it. The school celebrates diversity, focuses on character building and cultivates an environment of inclusion and acceptance. The staff is amazing - incredibly supportive and we have felt like we have true partners in the development and success of our kids. We are extremely grateful that we can call SDGVA our school.

We haven't experience anything yet but I would imagine they are effective in it just because of how well they deal with other issues.

My son is in Kinder and has homework from Monday - Thursday. My only frustration is that they encourage "creative writing" which means he can make up words or not spell a word correctly in his journal but I get it, the point is that they're writing and practicing. I guess spelling doesn't count in Kinder? It does to me but this is minor.

Their leadership mantra and the fact that tai-kwan-do is incorporated into every student's experience at this school. I love that this starts even at the kinder level.
Posted: April 26, 2018
All the teachers are SUPER friendly and seem to really care about the kids! The director or "principal", Ms. Kane, can be seen out with the kids every morning. My son knows who she is and I love that she's within reach and not too busy to talk to any of the parents. They have a leadership mantra too and my son who is in kinder is already encouraged and evaluate on different ways to show leadership.

I LOVE THAT MY SON GOES TO THIS SCHOOL! I think they only go up to 8th grade which stinks but I am excited for my son to continue here because they are soooo good! The staff is great, education is great, communication is AMAZING! (teachers use an app to send messages and post pictures). I strongly recommend this school to any potential parents.

If you have a problem at this school and approach the administration to work towards a solution, they will tell you that it's no longer the right place for your kid or that maybe it's time for you to move on.

Every coin has 2 sides - charter schools have the autonomy of educational paradigm but you also get stuck with autonomy of governance. If you have a problem at this school and approach the administration to work towards a solution, they will tell you that it's no longer the right place for your kid or that maybe it's time for you to move on. If you go to the school district to discuss your options they will send you back to the school. There are some great teachers at this school, but that's not enough to overcome the incompetent and unengaged administration. Children who have left the school are now finding that they are far behind at traditional public schools, the level of rigor at SDGVA is not up to snuff with average nearby schools. The only writing they teach is "mentor text" where students model their writing on a published document - children are never taught to write a standard essay or a report - students find themselves woefully unprepared once they leave this school. The administration actively discourages parent involvement. They have no extracurriculars, no sports, no clubs, nothing outside of schoolwork for the elementary kids. Choose at your own risk, but I'm so thankful I got my kid out of there and into a regular public school.

Its a small school with a strong focus on the fundamentals of writing, reading and mathematics PLUS science and technology (STEAM program). I like the fact that SDGVA has chosen to have the students wear uniforms. I feel that it helps to create a sense of sameness of group rather than a focus on being separate, different and individual when dressing distinctly. My belief is when students put on the uniform it puts them in the mental mindset of being a student, rather than the converse: street /casual clothes put one in the mindset of, well, being casual. Tae Kwon Do martial arts class is available to all students once a week. Not only good exercise, but also teaches such attributes as: discipline, respect, coordination and self-defense, to name a few. AM/PM programs are run by school staff and teachers. Students can receive assistance with their homework generally from their own class teacher! As well as getting additional technology practice and study from the schools IT director. I also love the technology-centered communication methods they use. It makes contacting, or being contacted by them, nearly instant. Communicating to the main office or the teachers is a snap. The CEO/Provost Ms. Kane is very open and friendly, she is always around students in the morning and afternoon, knows all students by name and parent/guardians face by 2nd week. They are very student centered and seem to make their decisions with the students best interest and safety in mind first. Teachers have very strong mind-set in focusing on students success in both academically and mentally. Even though it has been only a couple of months, but I see that my child is already showing academic improvement in her reading, writing and mathematics skills. In addition, I can also tell that she is gaining confidence as well, and am pleased that she is happy, thriving and safe there. I cannot say enough good things about this school. There is no chance to pull my child out of this school.

My child was a mediocre student prior to enrolling at SDGVA, She has become a confident, happy student, she now LOVES MATH! I know that this would have never happened at at our big public neighborhood school. Thanks to the very dedicated professionals at SDGVA, who create a safe, stimulating environment.

Every child should be so lucky as to have the opportunity to attend a school such as San Diego Global Vision Academy. And any parent or student that I've spoken to from SDGVA is as crazy in love with it as my child and I are. Not only do the teachers do an exceptional job of teaching our children, they also nurture their students in every possible way. And this includes the entire staff. The school environment is very structured, yet very loving and accommodating. They address every student as an individual and attend to their specific needs. The school is a very diverse group, yet they all come together like a family. Every child thrives there. My son started in fourth grade, the year the school opened. He is my fourth child, and until then all my children had attended parochial schools, which we have always been happy with. It was sort of a fluke how it came to be that he gave this school a try that year, but he's never looked back. He loves the teachers, the staff, students, his studies. He is engaged in school in every respect. SDGVA should be the model upon which all schools are based. My heart is filled with gratitude for all this school has offered my son.

SDGVA is an amazing school because the architecture of leader building techniques based on virtues and principles we all value and want our children to learn and become the future we hope for. This requires a watchful eye on every students interactions and achievements to identify areas that need improvement and implementing modern well planned techniques to provide a safe social structured environment that the children can thrive to be more and more importantly desire to do more and achieve goals they didn't know they could. I have carefully observed the progress of my three children and am very pleased we found SDGVA.

SDGVA is by far the greatest school in San Diego! As an educator and former home school teacher, we were looking for a great school to meet our family's changing needs. From day one we experienced intelligent, caring, beyond capable, amazing teachers and staff of top quality to help our children transition and flourish. Great success comes with great leadership and there is no success without a successor. Principle Harris and Educational Provost Kane have this vision and provide a solid leadership foundation for the support and success of their teachers, staff, students, and parents both collectively and as individuals. Parents have many opportunities to be involved to attend monthly family dinner nights, help in the classroom, or go on field trips. They regularly provide feedback on behavior, achievement, assessment, areas of need, and goals for advancement. The curriculum is balanced, and rich with writing, reading and STEM emphasis. Students participate in Tae Kwon Do, organic gardening, Science Lab, and leadership activities, and as our daughter says, " helps us work to use our skills and resources so we can learn new and interesting things in a fun and exciting way."

I have been involved in education as a teacher and parent, both in private and public schools for more than 30 years. San Diego Global Vision Academy is a superior school. The staff is very loving and dedicated to guiding each student academically as well as in learning life skills. The personal commitment I have observed from the teachers and support staff is extraordinary. When I step on the campus and observe student behavior, I am impressed with the respect I see demonstrated by the students in their interaction with staff, parents and fellow students. The school environment is challenging and positive, encouraging each student to work hard and achieve their best. Learning about good citizenship and leadership are essential lessons taught at SDGVA. Learning that success is the result of motivation, goal setting, self-discipline and hard work is important in the daily learning as well. My own daughter has learned that she is accountable in every way for her words and actions towards others. There is an overall feeling that "I'm worth it and I will try my best" at SDGVA. There is a strong feeling on campus of "connected-ness", belonging together as team, as a community.

SDGVA by far is one of the best Charter schools in San Diego County. The parent student ratio is awesome. The staff is wonderful and very respectful of each family educational needs and the staff also knows each student and parents by name. If your child does not have an Individualized Educational Plan the teachers are still available to help each child as though they did have one. Extra help is always available to all students rather in the morning, after school or on a Saturday your child will get the help that they need. I love everything about SDGVA from the time I drop my Children off to the time that I pick them up I know that they are in a safe place that is full of love, joy and excitement. When I look at San Diego Global Vision Academy I know that my children is getting quality educational like that of a private school with out the cost. My children enjoy one of the Tae Kwon Doe programs that is part of the weekly school schedule it gives them a chance to burn of extra energy. They also enjoy the free extracurricular activities that are part of the 6 to 6 program Flag Football and Basketball these sports gives them a chances to do a sport that some families can't afford.

SDGVA has been a blessing to my family and my children. My children transferred in midyear 2 years ago and both of them were welcomed with open arms. My children have individual academic needs and SDGVA has found ways to accommodate both of my children. They challenge my child who surpasses his grade level and offers amazing support to my child who needs extra strategies to learn. They treat my children as unique individuals and get to know them as people and love them as their own. My children look forward to school. They are eagar to learn. The teacher's and administration are always avalible to parents to aide in "problems". This school has helped my children not only with academic hurdles but personal hurdles. They care about the children as a whole person. I highly recommend this school. I always recommend this school to new neighbors that move in. Even though we have to commute to the school I think the school is worth the extra time spent in the car. The amazing education and teachers are worth the commute for my children. Anyone that can get their children into this school have an amazing opportunity and their children will get an amazing education.

I can't say enough great things about SDGVA! I moved to CA almost 2 years ago during the summer and right away enrolled my oldest daughter in the 2nd grade class (luckily there was an opening). Now both of my children are there and both are both excelling and couldn't be happier! One of my children is in Transitional Kindergarten, so she is a young 5, and is reading at a 1st grade level already. The teachers are a text, phone call or e-mail away which I did not experience with a traditional public school. The Administrative team knows my children by name which is extremely comforting, and they do everything they can to accommodate a single mom who has to work, which is way more than I could ever ask for! They have mandatory weekly Tae-Kwon-Do with an awesome instructor who teaches them discipline and integrity. I recently started working in the Carmel Valley area which is known for it's incredible schools, but I can't bare to take my girls out of SDGVA!! I'm a proud mommy!!

Critical thinking and writing skills are honed across all academic disciplines. In this technological age of massively available, self-published, instantaneous communication, this compassionate group of savvy education professionals is guaranteeing that SDGVA students will undoubtedly "Write the Future!"

I chose to work at SDGVA because in working with the group of founding members, I finally found a supportive and driven group of educators who found a way to put children first. I've worked with some wonderful teachers and taught at another great charter school, but for the first time in my career I am able to stand alongside other educators developing the our vision, learning together, growing as professionals and individuals, creating a school FOR KIDS. SDGVA embodies everything I believe is important about education: our mission to creating resilient, lifelong learners, our focus on service learning and writing, our emphasis on tae kwon do and self control, and our belief as individuals, as a teaching staff, and as an entity that ALL students have the potential to succeed. I've never been happier or felt so motivated as a professional. Working alongside such amazing and motivated educators who are genuinely excited to teach our children keeps me motivated and makes getting up each morning and showing up for work "worth it."

Working at SDGVA is a dream come true. It is a place where all teachers, staff, and administration work diligently to support student achievement and personal growth. At SDGVA everyone is willing to do whatever it takes to give students what they need and to help them achieve their goals. At SDGVA, parents, teachers, staff, and students are a family. We support each other and band together when things get tough. We are flexible, caring, and hardworking. At SDGVA students are resilient and face life s challenges head on. I am extremely fortunate to work with such an amazingly strong group of people that are making a difference in the lives of young people everyday. You will never meet a more passionate and dedicated group. This school is a rare find.

Working at SDGVA gives me an opportunity as an educator to meet the needs of all of my students and help them become the best learners they can be. I am treated professionally by administration and by parents. I am part of a very dedicated team that not only truly believes students can achieve excellence, but every decision is based on it. There is cross-grade-level accountability and help that can be so rare in schools. I am valued here as an educator, a learner, and as an individual!

SDGVA has transformed my life as an educator. Teacher burn out influences many teachers on a daily basis. When I found SDGVA, I knew that this school would protect me from growing exhausted and frustrated. I was grateful to be offered a teaching position here and I have had an incredible, supportive, and enhancing experience at this school. Each day I work alongside the most loving and amazing teacher leaders. I learn everyday and I share everyday. The buzz of teachers leading teachers can be heard always and this experience is valuable and priceless. SDGVA has found a way to put students first and to see to it that all teachers continue their journey as lifelong learners. I am eager to see what the upcoming years will bring and I am thankful each day to have met all the SDGVA teachers, faculty, families, students, and parents.

I love being a teacher at SDGVA because of the strong community that has been fostered among educators, administrators, family, and students. Every student, regardless of grade level, is considered one of ours by all teachers. I am amazed by the innovation and consistent high expectations that I see occur in every classroom, every day. SDGVA students work hard, take responsibility for their behavior and their learning, and know that they will not be overlooked or able to slide by . High expectations are set for every student, and every educator, and because of this, the years are filled with huge successes. All teachers are committed to helping their students achieve in every way that they know how and if they don t know how, you can bet they will work hard to find solutions. Because of this diligence and dedication, I have witnessed students who have made giant leaps in proficiency and overall motivation and work ethic. All staff works together in a dynamic environment that brings out greatness in every member of the SDGVA family, and I feel lucky and honored to be a part of this amazing charter school.

SDGVA I feel incredibly fortunate to have found SDGVA so early in my career. The academic rigor and passion for student achievement is truly unmatched by any school site I have observed. SDGVA is 100% student focused and student driven, with an extremely gifted and dedicated staff of educators. The willingness to ensure academic success for all students, at any cost, is truly inspiring and motivating. I have been afforded an incredible opportunity to learn from my colleagues in a network of love and support and reflect daily how incredible my job is! SDGVA bridges the teacher-parent relationship in a genuine, heart felt environment, which strengthens our community of young leaders and resilient learners. I couldn t feel more fulfilled to be an educator at SDGVA.

I couldn't possibly be more satisfied with the decision to enroll my child here. He is absolutely thriving. The staff is exceptional, I have loved his teachers each year! All of the staff know each of the students, so it is an ultra personal feel. Tae Kwon Do is a part of the curriculum and I have seen so much more discipline from my son because of that. It is the perfect place for our family. The teachers take great care in assuring your child is on track for success. I am thrilled to be enrolling my younger son in Kindergarten this Fall! What a wonderful place to grow. Thank you, SDGVA!

The amount of professional development that SDGVA provides for their teachers is monumental. More importantly, most of it comes from in-house, which allows for all teachers to serve in a leadership role. Such responsibilities foster teachers who are always working on their craft of teaching, and their ability to work with students and adults. SDGVA is a fantastic place to work. Both students and staff are held to high expectations.

A school that's young, but has many good qualities of an old established institution. SDGVA, turn my son into an avid reader. I remember when I use to bribe him to read anything, now he beats me to the library trying to check books out. I love how his teacher use JUNK books and POWER books to classify different books. They have instill the love of reading into my child without me having to bribe him. HOORAY!!!!!!

My daughter has attended SDGVA since 4th grade (now in 7th) and I love this school. They receive a stellar education from master level teachers. In addition they're taught personal responsibility and how to be leaders. I especially love their passion for literacy. My daughter has excelled at this school and I highly recommend it!

I have a middle school student and a 1st grader that attend SDGVA. The teachers and staff are passionate about education. They are passionate about children. My children love to go to school each day. My 1st grader even asks to go school on the weekends. I have always been a parent who is involved in the learning process of my children. When my personal circumstances changed and I was not able to spend as much time as would have liked at the school my kids never missed a beat. I feel the teachers genuinely care about my kids and my kids feel the same way. My kids strive to do well in class and have a love for learning and I know that in part is because of the way that lessons are taught. The schools doesn't stop with reading, writing and arithmetic but instead help to develop the whole child by producing civic minded leaders. My children have the opportunity to learn about their contribution to the world. I have referred this school to any and everyone I know looking for a new school. If you are searching, search no more.

My child is in second grade, and is already proficient in every skill, but excelling in reading and writing. I am very pleased with her performance, her teachers' ability to support a wide range of student abilities and keep my child challenged, and I feel that the school is extremely efficiently and lovingly run.

SDGVA is a wonderful school. Both of my daughters have improved from proficient to advanced. The teachers go above and beyond and communicate regularly. The administration is the best I have ever seen. They know all of the children and even teach in the classrooms. SDGVA is like one big family where all the teachers know my children's names and care for the kids deeply. They have high standards and very solid classroom management. Thank you for all that you do for our kids!!!!!

They are making wonderful friends becoming outgoing and confident in who they are. The teachers have made the transition easy for them. Their tests scores have gone up in some areas to advanced. I am so glad that my kids attend here. It is a warm and friendly place to send your kids.

My daughter has been a student at San Diego Global Vision Academy for the last 2 years, her choice. She is now a 6th grader. The teachers and staff are awesome! They are genuinely concerned about the students well being, physically, mentally, emotionally and educationally. The line of communication with the parents is always open. They keep the parents informed about their child s progress and are always eager to provide any extra assistance. The success of the students is most important. At SDGVA, they are building life long, responsible, service minded learners. My daughter LOVES to read and has a developed a passion for creative writing. She has a strong responsibility for her own actions and encourages others to do the same. We are extremely happy with SDGVA and would recommend it as a school of choice!

If you're looking for teachers who honor your children for who they are and encourage the best of them to shine, SDGVA should defiantly be a school to consider. They are not only big on academics but are there to help create strong and compassionate leaders for our community. We were enrolled at another school when we went to SDGVA to meet the teachers. The first impression my sons teacher made on him,as well as us changed our minds to attend here. My son has grown so much and has such a positive experience her. Teachers make themselves available to students as well as parents. Children are respectful and polite thanks to the family like atmosphere created by these caring and qualified teachers. An added bonus to all this....free (healthy) breakfast, lunch and snack to all!
