i love chilton so much. at my old school before chilton, i got bullied and didnt have many friends. but when i transferred here everyone was so nice. sure there can be rude people sometimes, but it doesn’t matter because now i have the greatest friends, teachers, and grades.

Racism, bullying, no action from the school ever. When does it stop? You can see from the reviews here alone it's been happening at least for the past decade. Something needs to be done about this. Expeditiously.

Some of the teachers are deliberately mean, to all students. Their communication is not good, they tend to forget to email, then expect kids and families to know. I have seen a lot of kids struggle especially after COVID, and the school does little to help their individual needs.
There are tons of fights and a lot of recalls slurs that get thrown around with little recourse. It’s not the kind of school they try to portray themselves to be.

I am very disappointed in this school /bullying and discrimination against my children has continued for 2 years / children are subject to discrimination and bullying / the administration does not take measures to solve problems / children are constantly provoked into fights and there are threats to beat them after school / fear and panic they don’t allow you to study at school / it’s very difficult to find a school, the schools are overcrowded / the school will not take measures to solve these problems with children provocateurs / please note that your children will be safe in this school /

This school is not ok. They are telling kids to wear shorts to PE even if they say no, they don't have modest options for people who want to cover up more and the teachers do not care. People get bullied but the staff does nothing about it. Other kids also make racial jokes for fun and think it's so funny. Is this the type of school you want your children attending?

This school is not as good as it once was in the past. My son has severe anxiety. He has been sick a lot throughout the year. The school has no sympathy for what he is going through. I get it that attendance is a state mandate but the school seems to only care about the #'s , not the students. my son was sick today and in the nurses office. The school's counselor went in to tell him that he needed to get a note from his doctor so it was considered an excused absence. I JUST had a conversation with her about how anxious my son is and she decides to make him more anxious by telling him this. I am livid. No one has brought up the fact that he could have a 504 because of his anxiety disorder. They just say that mental health issues do not qualify for as a reason for frequent absences (there's actually a form that you can have a doctor fill out for any physical issues). I plan on investigating this further before giving up. I strongly dislike this school. Oh - and while my son was throwing up in the bathroom, the Assistant Principal walked in and told him to hurry up. Not checking to see if he is okay or anything.

This school is amazing and I will be very sad to leave this amazing school.

Posted: November 25, 2019

I have never been given too much homework and I think that’s a good thing.

If you’re being bullied, don’t hesitate to tell a teacher. The teachers will definitely be monitoring this school. The vice principal is on campus a lot of the time and is very outgoing and alert.

Posted: November 25, 2019

Every teacher and staff member are supportive of the students and are a positive influence on campus.

Posted: November 25, 2019

Everyone there is nice and supportive of everyone. The WEB program is absolutely one of the best that I have ever seen.

When I was bullied, the teachers immediately took action. The problem was solved within a matter of days.

I have been bullied at Chilton Middle School for my entire middle school experience and the staff have been notified of this but yet have failed to effectively manage the problem

My overall experience would most likely be below one star. This school is not an environment where parents can trust the teachers to effectively guard their children and keep them from emotional and physical trauma. Your child's mental health will be put at risk by the racism, harassment, and bullying that is present on campus.

My child has been going here. He has been complaining of the kids making racist comments to him and also calling really bad names. The school dooes not seem to take it seriously. Just frustrated to see my kid having to go through this.

It is a great school! my son loves going to Barbara Chilton, the kids there are so friendly. And for the past two years it has been opened, Chilton has had the best scores in Roseville for state testing in all grade levels

This school is an amazing school with teachers who care so much about the children their learning and growing up in life so blessed and happy my son has teachers who care so much about him and not look at him like he is just a colored kid who is gonna just be a mess up all other schools my son has attended looked at him in that way and were very mean to him he is so happy to go to school now and be around great teachers and friends who see him for the great kid he is and not the color of his skin!

An amazing school with talanted teachers who emphasize academics and character building for their students! Blessed that my child could attend 8th grade at Chilton. Go Bobcats!!!

Chilton is an amazing middle school for the West Roseville area! Jeff Ancker is a very personable and enthusiastic principal who leads an amazing staff of knowledgable and dedicated teachers. The staff always go above and beyond for my 8th grader and the small school environment is just perfect for her. For such a small school, they offer so many great opportunities and bullying and other bad behaviors are rare and dealt with immediately. Overall, I can say enough how great it is to have this school in the neighborhood!
