i went to this school and when i tell you the faculty could care less than they do, i swear by it. they truly are worried more about their paychecks than the well beings of the students and as a student who was going through SO much it was so exhausting to be in this learning environment. PLEASE ENROLL YOUR KIDS SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!!!

There is a special education department that pushes mild to moderate students into gen Ed classrooms. There are Special Day classrooms as well.

If a parent reports bullying, it is dealt with. Keep in mind though, some parents are in denial of their own child's behavior and roll in this social issue.

Torrance high school is a great school with many different student cultures all learning the needed material. The campus is great and so are the kids. Recommended!

Homework isn’t too overbearing and still allows the kids to enjoy their adolescence but still challenges them into understanding the concept of the lessons.

Students can take part in leadership in clubs, student council, and ASB. In case I misunderstood the question, the principle and staff are very nice in making sure the kids are in a good environment.

I am currently a student here at TorrAnce High, and I’ve got a lot to say. First off, amazing campus. Secondly, some teachers are definitely great and well rounded but some teachers are lacking and need more lesson planning. 3rd, there is a MAJOR division in the student body, on one hand you have amazing successful students that will excel in life and on the other you have dead end kids that will only make the world a worse place and soemtimes make the bathroom reek of weed, two extreme ends of the spectrum, the two feeder schools are also very different, Madrona has great students and makes the school better while Hull is just—. I have been thinking about transferring to West because unless your in honors/high achieving classes, the ghetto kids will make things much worse.

I went to this school and I would say the teacher and staff were very helpful but as for the students they were awful. They are right about bullying it is a BIG problem at that school and no one has tried to stop it. I had to leave after a year because I could not take the constant trash talk and online bullying. Would not recommend.

They let to many children with disabilities in the regular classroom. I tried the sympathetic but the but the constant interruptions it takes away from the other children's education

I graduated from Torrance and have nothing but good things to say. I got a good education. Contrary to what others have said, Torrance definitely does provide students with classes and activities that will help students go on to colleges. I, and many of my classmates, went straight to a university. If you want to get involved there are more than enough opportunities. All the teachers I had were wonderful and more than willing to help. I also rarely saw violence on campus, like someone else claimed. A few arguments, however they were always quickly interrupted by the security, who was also a great guy. Go Tartars!

Torrance High School is fantastic, I have three boys that go to school their and their step-mother is a teacher their from all I've heard it is a awesome school and that there is Caring staff that work their including my boys step mother, My boys are succeeding because teachers care so much about their education and the well being of the student I give it an A+ for being Awesome. Thank You.

I have 4 children and 3 family members that went to this school. We all think that the school is a Great School, has great programs, and very good teachers!

This is an amazing school. although not very successful in academics they are amazing academically

Unfortunately this school does not rate high for me. Some of the teachers are caring and will work with your child academically. Classes are approx. 38 -1 if not 41-1, I have transferred my child out of this school to another school in Torrance only to find out my child is behind academically. As for the VP and some other school officials if there is a problem at hand, i.e. harassment or bullying etc. the correct measures were not handled in the correct manner, especially if your child is being harassed by the more "Popular" crowd. Seems things fall to the waist side and very much over looked. If you plan on sending your child here, I highly recommend your RECONSIDER and look into West or South High. P.S. Unfortunate to have had a bad experience with the Librarian working at Torrance High, very rude and unprofessional. Too bad she is working with kids and adults with this unprofessional rude behavior. TOXIC

This school is pretty good for the most part, but also does have some severe problems. First, I've noticed a huge spark in violence within the campus the past years. I don't know if it is because of the lack of security or what, but it is starting to get pretty bad and is getting worse. Second, NO ONE tells us what events are going on. They are very unorganized when it comes to pictures, for example, since they don't even update us or the teachers on what is going on. But enough with the bad things, this school is good in terms of quality of education. We have problems to fix...and just judging by the staff, they aren't going to fix it anytime soon.
