My daughter built anxiety and was constantly getting bullied in her class. Her teacher, Buenaventura, hardly communicates our daughters progress and she couldnt care less if a child needs a little more attention. Were glad we pulled her out of this school.

Both of my kids have gone to the school since Camarena first opened. Its been a great school and I have had no complaints. There was one year where they had a less than ideal School principal he didnt want very long. I find the staff and teachers to be supportive and caring about the students. They are passionate and involved. I find them to be responsive and engaging. My kids loved going to school there.

Staff discriminated and teachers are inexperienced and do not know how to communicate. Bullying is tolerated and staff definitely does more harm than good. Very unwelcoming environment

This school does not take bullying seriously. My little sister was bullied to the point where kids were throwing stones at her and are accused to be have calling her racial slurs.

On the flip side my black 8 year old son had 4 police officers called on him and was being forced into a mental hospital over him drawing an inappropriate picture, this picture was achieved through an unauthorized search. They integrated him for 3 hours before notifying me.

My sweet boy was also being bullied and he told his teacher and his teacher responded to him by calling him a liar.

This school doesn't care about black people.

The first year was good but the last 4 have been tough. Every one out of two teachers is not qualified to do the job and our kids suffer the consequence because the principals do nothing.

No homework in grade 3 is setting up students for a very tough 4th grade when homework increases.

A DI teacher should be able to speak Spanish without asking students for help and not repeatedly speak English in a Spanish DI class.

There has been a revolving door of principals since the first principal left when the school opened. None of the principals address performance issues with teachers and they do nothing to address bullying behavior that lingers for years.

This school is too impacted with over 1200 students and they are not getting the education they deserve at least on my child's end. I regret purchasing a home in this area and wouldn't recommend this school.

This is our first year at this school and my child is feeling discouraged from attending school due to the teacher's approach. He has even mentioned that his teacher purposely ignores him when he is explaining himself. Unfortunately this school is insanely impacted and the Vice Principle/Associate Principle basically said there isn't much else that can be done and has "great faith" that the teacher will do her best...

Overall, the education my kids are getting here is more than I expected. I do my part as a dutiful parent and make sure I communicate with teachers and staff as necessary. Teachers don't last long if they cannot deliver the rigor that is expected by the district. Some minor tweaks and adjustments only to this superior school. They really need to build more schools as this one is already bursting at the seams with enrollment at almost 1100 students for 2017/2018.

Having had one child work through the English program and one child currently working through the Dual Language program, the teachers make the difference. Every teacher I have come into contact with has always had a way to differentiate the learning process and tailor it to my child's needs. When I have had questions, they have been accessible and relatable.

I'm really disappointed that we are now into the 5th year since this school has opened and we are already on to our 3rd principal. We have not had steady, consistent leadership here. The newest appointed principal needs to work on his people skills when talking to parents. He currently does not give me the warm fuzzy feeling. Not to say that feeling won't change, but he surely didn't make a good first impression on me. He comes to us with a somewhat impressive resume, but really, we could have promoted from within and given the kids a much stronger foundation to stand on.

My kids have been bullied a few times while at school. I've taught them how to try to deal with it on their own and had the teacher get involved when necessary. There is not a focus on tolerance. Most of these children do not go without, so they have no idea what another kid might be going through.

This is my humble opinion ... kids do well academically in this school because of the parent support. I see parents there ALL the time. This is a good thing. I don't think discipline is much of a problem also because of parent support. We are on top of kids. But I've had a few concerns with discipline from the staff. Some staff over exaggerate when there's little problems within kids and others take incidents lightly. I feel there is inconsistency and the kids get confused about expectations. I've had to come to the principal's office to clarify incidents about my child because staff communicates with other parents and I find out through gossip. I think this is very unprofessional. Also, when I come to the office for information I feel disrespected by the staff. Every single time I ask for something they're reply is "why didn't you do that months ago?" ... well, home communication is pathetic and the office is open only during my own work hours. I really don't like that they assume I can just walk in any time during the day. Automated phone calls are usually silly and not very informational. It's basic pick-up-your-kid-at-1:15 or ELAC-meeting-at-8am. I feel the school has to have events after 4pm to make it more accessible to working single parents, yes we exist in this community. Despite the inconsistency, and my disappointment with administration, I am glad I live in this community. Parents are very helpful and teachers are acceptable. My son is doing amazing things.

Online homework is ineffective when it's timed. My second grader was frustrated everyday trying to beat the clock. So I decided to tell him not to do it at all. Research shows homework doesn't make a student better anyway. Instead, I dedicate reading time with my child. Much more enjoyable and relaxed.

The school and staff is amazing. The teachers do really care about students education and want them to excel. I have 3 daughter's 6th, 5th and di kinder. My kids are truly blessed at this school.

It's a new school openning in 2013. But it already very crowded with students. The staff is overall are nice the teachers are good. The level of the kids education is low. The Common core curriculum is very hard for 1,2,3,4 and 5th grade. The school seems to be more involved in reaching their minimum for the next year budget, rather than the looking to improving the quality of education.

As the saying goes, the third time is a charm. This our son's third elementary school. He transferred when we purchased our new home in Eastlake and then transferred again when this new school was completed in 2013. This is by far one of the best schools I have seen, my son loves it and we love it, and not to mention the cream of the crop staff. Probably one of the reasons we will not be selling our house or moving anytime soon. Shaun
