Bullying here is terrible and my child has been seriously hurt several times and nothing is done maybe its time to get my cousin involved shes with channel 10 smh bullying needs to be addressed. Our children can end up hurt or die so these teachers and principals need to care

Agree the principal is rude and will lie straight to your face. Teachers don't care. Only 1 teacher at that school actually cares and is sincerely nice. That teacher is the only male teacher there and deserves all the respect. Thank goodness the school they are in now is better and my child has the best grades they ever had. Thanks to the nice supportive teachers. We almost gave up on RUSD. As mentioned in last review the bad kids get rewarded while the other child involved gets reprimanded. Really this school needs a new principal and new teachers that don't say racist remarks and actually support children emotionally and academically.

We moved from the Bay Area expecting this school to align with where we left from. Unfortunately, we have had a terrible experience. We were not aware that the school was considered low-income. Children who behave poorly get rewarded. There is lots of bullying and inappropriate behavior on campus due to an adequate amount of supervision. Teachers hardly report what is going on in class to parents - we have no idea what is going on there unless we get a random message on ParentSquare. Not too many people are fans of the principal and my family would fall into this category. Very disappointed with our decision to move within this district.

Nice neighborhood and great custodial staff who keep grounds up. Also, some terrific teachers. Principal is so hostile and negative with students as well as parents, super disappointed in administrative accountability.

Brian Arcuri is the definition of toxic masculinity. The way he speaks to women is unacceptable. Instead of reassuring a parent their child will be safe to come to school, he chooses to mock them, making comments like, Well I dont control the universe and cant guarantee that, No, youre gonna let me finish, and choosing to flat out laugh when you tell him youre going to the school district since hes incapable of doing his job. Hes alsoupon further investigationbeen involved in MULTIPLE lawsuits against the school for ineffectiveness and letting bullying continue against students.

The teachers are amazing but the principal is very rude. He will yell at you in front of anyone and yell to everyone your business. I couldnt believe a grown educated man would do this. Ive had many encounters with this man and he is not pleasant. Hes very argumentative but besides that the teachers are sweet and care about their students. The grounds are pretty clean. My children have learned a lot from this school.

Wow, lots of bad reviews, which is sad. No school is perfect, but I believe these reviews don't reflect the feelings of the majority of the parents here. Here's an honest review. The pros: really great staff and great resources. This is a very academics based school: my children have excelled here for the last 3.5 years and my son went onto the middle school well prepared for the rigorous demands there. The cons. The kids only have art (VAPA) once a month and no theatre/drama experiences at all. There are very few field trips, even before the pandemic. The kids could probably use more social-emotional learning: we found that lacking, despite the C.A.R.E.S. program.
If you want your kids to get a get great academic education at a safe school, AC is great. We've had nothing but positive experiences with the staff and administration, including the principal handling some bullying incidents. All schools are going to have some incidence of bullying and in our case they were handled well and the kids responsible were held accountable for their actions. Overall, I'd recommend this school.

I'm a little disheartened by what I've read regarding this school. Both of my daughters have had nothing but support from all of their teachers. Every teacher we've dealt with has been very communicative regarding any issues my daughters have had in class and have helped us in devising solutions to help them overcome challenges.
One of my daughters had a bullying incident, and Principal Brian Arcuri was very much involved and helped resolve the issue quickly and respectfully. Bullying is in every school but it seems this school does it's best to try and find the reasons behind the bullying and correct those issues rather than just discipline kids. We've had many communications with Mr. Arcuri for many other things and he's always been helpful and kind. I've never heard him bad mouth anyone whether it was kids, parents, or teachers.
No school is perfect, of course there are ways for the staff or the district to be better, but a 2.5 out of 5 review rating really does this school a complete disservice. The test scores and the ratings show that this school and it's staff care about our kids' best interests and making sure they are prepared scholastically for what's to come.
In conclusion, I feel like the reviews don't reflect the majority of what parents find at this school and they most certainly don't reflect mine but, after reading so many scathing reviews I felt I had to say something.

Posted: May 13, 2019
Negative attitude and bullying starts from the top. Brian Arcuri is very rude and condescending to women and completely ineffective as a leader. This school has a terrible bullying problem and his solution is to ignore it. All too often the victim is blamed and required to redirect their behavior as opposed to actually disciplining the bully

If by addressing you mean burying your head in the sand, then yes, that is exactly what they do
Posted: May 13, 2019
The school needs an overhaul from the top. The teachers try but get zero support

Absolutely adore the librarian and cafeteria staff,so sweet. The school has allot of resources, however fair administration is not one of them If your child has learning differences this may not be the place for them. Accommodations and modifications are hard to come by here.

We pulled our daughter out.Not safe and felt very uncomfortable with the principal when trying to discuss concerns.Parking and pick up/drop off is a nightmare!
Posted: September 8, 2018
The principal talks badly about former students and parents frequently and seems to have no real focus. He has a very negative attitude.
Posted: September 8, 2018
Allot of intimidation between students and threats on the play ground as well as before and after school.
Posted: September 8, 2018
Love the PE teacher and Ms. Schnell.Over all seems like a great bunch of teachers.
Posted: September 8, 2018
Love the library lady.Cafeteria staff who prepare the food are great, but those supervising during lunch, like those supervising during recess do not support the kids enough.Allot of fighting, injuries and accidents.
Posted: September 8, 2018
Hope to see a great deal more happiness on campus in the near future.
Posted: September 7, 2018
Students seem very sad at recess and there is allot of fighting between them.
Posted: September 7, 2018
Communication is weak and confusing.Principal is arrogant and rude.
Posted: September 7, 2018
The Principal does not want to hear about it.
Posted: September 7, 2018
Like allot of the teachers, our son's not included.
Posted: September 7, 2018
We hope to change schools next semester. Not a good school.
Posted: September 6, 2018
Sad to see some very sweet teachers and students trying to function in such a hostile environment.
Posted: September 6, 2018
They need much better supervision at recess.
Posted: September 6, 2018
Is there actual leadership at this school? If so I would like to speak with them.
Posted: September 6, 2018
We plan to move as soon as we can.Wish we would have been aware of how poorly this school is ran.
Posted: September 1, 2018
Would like to see more support and encouragement
Posted: September 1, 2018
There are several very good teachers at this site and some who have no clue what they are doing.Especially with children who struggle with focus.VERY punitive!Recess supervision is not adequate.
Posted: September 1, 2018
Not the least bit impressed with the principal at this site or the way he talks about parents. He seems to go out of his way to hinder success of students rather than contribute to it.
Posted: September 1, 2018
IEP implementation leaves much to be desired.
Posted: September 1, 2018
The principal's approach is hostile and aggressive, his lack of kindness spills over on campus.
Posted: August 24, 2018
Homework assignments are not explained and often not based on classroom instruction.
Posted: August 24, 2018
This site fosters aggressive conduct and bullying.Very sad.
Posted: August 24, 2018
We honestly can not believe this man is allowed to be principal.Brian Arcuri picks one battle after the other for the site and district. We have found him to be impossible to communicate with.
Posted: August 24, 2018
Our oldest daughter has ADHD and they are clueless in how to help.
Posted: August 24, 2018
The principal bullies the teachers and students, triggering the same from them.Very toxic culture.
Posted: August 24, 2018
I would avoid this school until it has better leadership and student supports.
Posted: July 5, 2018
My boys had a very difficult time at this school because their needs were ignored and they were not adequetly supervised or supported
Posted: July 5, 2018
The school has several excellent teachers, there are also many who do minimum at best.Teachers are allowed to talk badly about parents, traumatize students by humiliating them and even encourage students to bully and fend for themselves.Mr. Arcuri the principal was very deceptive with us and never took responsibility for the issues brought to his attention.
Posted: July 5, 2018
There are a few fun assemblies and the pancake breakfast is very fun. However students are not supervised well as recess there have been many injuries to kids and no one wants to be accountable. When you ask Arcuri why he is not more involved in improvement he says it's not his committee.
Posted: July 5, 2018
We liked the VP Mr. Castle but were very disappointed in Principal Brian Arcuri.Arcui blames all the schools issues on the district and role models gossip and negative talk about others in front of his students.
Posted: July 5, 2018
My boys IEP's were not followed, and I felt the principal resented their need for support. They were hassled on the bus, taken to the wrong stops and screamed as well as cussed at by the bus driver.
Posted: July 5, 2018
Several staff members including the principal role model bullying themselves and allow vulnerable children to be bullies.

The Principal is a bully so you can imagine what happens with students
Posted: May 24, 2018
Very poor. This school needs new leadership and better special education supports!
Posted: May 18, 2018
Most the teachers give assignments the students are unable to complete.
Posted: May 18, 2018
A couple of the teachers are awesome, many are not and their poor performance is complicated by awful over site by a hostile principal who has no people skills and treats students poorly.
Posted: May 18, 2018
Students are often discouraged and put down.Meredith Gilbert called my daughter names and encouraged others to bully her.Cindy Barney did not supervise my daughters class and was very unkind.
Posted: May 18, 2018
How is Brian Arcuri allowed to run this school?I hear endless complaints about him from teachers, parents and community members. There have been so many injuries and issues at this site under his poor leadership.
Posted: May 18, 2018
Again some do a good job, however several do not.PTA has heard endless concerns about Astrid Fann and the injuries and issues relating to her special ed classes there.
Posted: May 18, 2018
The Principal is a big bully and sets an awful example for the student body.I can not wait for the school year to end so I can get my girls out of this school for good!

This is an amazing school! Mr. Arcuri and his teachers love their jobs! The lunch lady is wonderful with the kids and the custodians all have great hearts and are very involved in school activities. It has a strength-based approach to learning and discipline. They incorporate the Leader in Me model and encourage all of the students to be great leaders. My daughter has been there for 4 years and we have been so happy with the education she has received.

My son loves this school, I will keep him here until 6 grade. He use to go to another school in Rocklin, they were good in teaching but I didn't like how they made the kids feel bad by when they were absent. They should of discuss it with the parents. Or when they didn't finish there work they had to sit on the steps n read n watch the children play. Plus I would see during recess the yard duty lady's not even watching the students, they were to busy talking to each other. But Antelope isn't like that they are friendly, excellent teaching. They tell ALL STUDENTS everyone plays or no playing at all, I love they watch the children playground they talk to the parents about the absence. There is no bullying around, the school gets after them quickly. Everyone gets along, that's how it should be. Plus the PTA helps towards school field trips :) the other school I didn't know where the PTA money went??? Antelope tells u, I like that. Like I say, my son is very happy at this school, plus he got the honor roll, one B+ and about two A's n a lot of A+ :) great job Antelope, u should b proud. Thank U so much on helping my son n making him happy being there. Keep up the good work. :)
