This is my 4th year and BES. I’ve had a wonderful experience. Each year we’ve been very lucky to have great teachers. The PTA is very involved and supports the staff and teachers with extra funding to better help their students. I wouldn’t want to move because I want to keep my kids in this district/school.

If your child has an IEP, run! Don't walk. Placement and services are based on staffing. Push to exit students and reduce services.
Poor retention and not top pick staff. Pay lower than neighboring districts.
Overcrowded. Dirty.

One of the last great public schools out there! Great office staff, teachers are amazing and rules are actually enforced so our kids are getting structure. It is a fun school with great parental inclusion! We had a blast going through this school. Consider yourself lucky if your child gets to go through Bonsall Elementary, it will set them up for a great road ahead!

Bonsall Elementary is exceptional on every level. From the communicative administrative leadership, to the incredibly dedicated teachers, to the expansive curriculum, to the clean and safe facilities. There is a reason this school has a waiting list year after year. I would highly recommend Bonsall Elementary to anyone!

This will be our third year at Bonsall Elementary. Each year we’ve had a glaring issue. The administration is disorganized & does not communicate. Our concerns are met with shrugged shoulders & no solutions. I am sorely disappointed after we tried to mitigate previous years issues & yet still have to be placed with screaming teachers & sub par programs. Our daughters IEP has been handled poorly. Very disappointed. Will be transferring out of district. Do not send your children to this district.

We've had such a great experience back full time at Bonsall Elementary this year! My daughters are thrilled with their friends and teachers and seem to be learning a lot. It's a happy, well-run place and we love doing whatever we can to support and be involved. Hooray for the Bonsall Bears!

I pulled my 10 year old from this school a year ago. The academics and learning environment are sub par -- nowhere close to our standards or expectations -- and leadership doesn't seem to prioritize it or have funding to do anything about it. To say we are disappointed and upset about having to pay for private school after moving to be near this supposedly-strong elementary school would be a significant understatement.

It saddens me to share that this school seems to be an "8" based on what it used to be, not what's happening now. My daughter's experience this year has been extremely disappointing. Her academics are rudimentary (I'd argue below grade level) writing and math taught in the most boring and "teach to the test" manner you can imagine, and that's about it.

There is no art teacher or art program. There is no science teacher or science program. There is no STEM program or program for advanced learners. There is no music teacher or music program. There does not appear to nearly enough support staff for special needs kids or counselors available or even enough janitors to keep the place clean. There is apparently plenty of time for unstructured recesses, however.

To say that we're disappointed in leadership at this school (other parents and teachers who we've met seem to agree wholeheartedly) would be an understatement. We've heard about funding being a problem, and that the school is still "coming back" from CV19 and last year, but every other elementary school I'm familiar with in the area (including Bonsall West, which is in the same school district) is WAY ahead of Bonsall elementary. This school needs to step it up, big time -- right now the 900 or so kids who attend this school are being done a disservice.

This is my sons first year at bonsall elementary. I must say I'm completely disappointed at this point. The kids seem like employees with numbers and the teaching is very robotic. My son was put in gate in his last school and has always loved his teachers! Sadly at this school he is not having a positive experience. From the ladies in the front office to the ones directing traffic everything is rushed and cold! I have received very little communication from the teacher and the school. They seem more concerned about test scores than the well being of the child!

I have a student in kindergarten and a 5th grader here. Both love their teachers and are enjoying themselves at the school. My one complaint is that they do have a lot more homework than we did when we were students (ages ago) but that's a reflection of changing social morays rather than school policy. All together, I think Bonsall is a 10 school and highly recommend it.

My child's school is really Awesome! She loves her teachers and the staff. The teachers have it together and the music program is great too. We are lucky to have music in our school. Thank you to all that help make this school a great school.

Wonderful teachers who care greatly about the children in their class. Principal and VP do an awesome job. Bullying is not accepted and the principal and VP take care of it right away. Front office runs super smoothly and I feel my children are extremely save at this school. My kids thrive in their class and both are grate A students. PTA is wonderful and improved tremendous. So glad my children attend Bonsall Elementary School. Couldn't be happier.
