Great school. Have two kids attending here over the last 3 years. All teachers have been great, and my kids are testing above grade-level. Great music curriculum if you want your kids in it, and the principal is fantastic and not above fixing problems herself. Main problem/concern is the PTA taking money from donations and fundraising and then threatening to quit without spending the money on the promised events. They all seem super shady.

My child attended a private school for the first few years but decided they wanted to try out the public school system. NGL, it has saved us a bunch of money and time since but so far, he's really enjoying being in this school. It helps that he really likes his teacher too. I understand not all children will have the same experience but this is mine.

In my experience, this school is absolutely horrendous, the racial slurs and physical bullying is at a level where multiple kids go to severe lessons in therapy. My kid was beat up because he was black, and i heard that another student was getting beat up because she was white. Not only does this school not handle the situations affectively, but they make them worse. If i could i would give this school 1 star, but i cant. 10/10 do not recommend.

Kinder classes are segregated because of teachers that don't seem to get along. One kinder teachers is obviously not liked by the other kinder teachers therefore they are holding two separate kinder ceremonies for the kinder classes. Where's the principal in all of this segregation? Look at the kinder classes and you will clearly see most of the minority kids in one class. How is that not discrimination and segregation of kids. Should we not have homogeneous classrooms! what are we teaching our kids!

Excellent school. Excellent Teachers. NO tolerance for bullying! My daughter is in 4th grade now and has loved every one of her teachers. They have all been in the teaching field for a lengthy amount of time which brought me comfort to their experience!

We moved to this school from overseas in 2011. I have one child with an IEP, one with a 504 plan, and another very academic child. 2 out of the three are also GATE qualified. All of my children have received nothing but great care at this school. Also the sports and parent support at the school are phenomenal. The principal does a great job and the teachers are all great in their own ways. Many of the teachers have been there for years and choose to send their own children there which shows you the level of committment there is from the teachers. Could not have been happier with the school.

Horrible school! Mrs. Nakamora is by far the worst principal ever. There is a huge bullying issue that never gets taken care of. The staff act like everything is a popularity contest. The sports programs are run by incompetent "coaches" and that's only half of the problem. They do not enforce a dress code, therefore you will see little girls with short shorts and inappropriate shirts. Definitely not a school to send your kids to.

I left one the most well-respected elementary schools in Mission Hills and brought my daughter here. Her former school did nothing but pile on homework from the first day of kindergarten. Half the kids in her 1st grade class were in tutoring to keep up. I was told over and over to hold my child back and when I asked for support and help from the teachers to get her on track, I received none. At Casilla's, they have gone out of their way to be supportive of mine and my daughters needs. They have an exceptional way of teaching and guiding the parents. It's a tight community with a lot of parental support. I'm very glad, as is my daughter, we made the switch!

Principal leadership has gone down. Office staff is not very friendly. Teachers are awesome I just think they get the support. So sad for at one point this was one of the best schools in the area.
