Excellent school, my kids had succeeded here, but it is important parents to stay involved since it is demanding. Teachers help students when needed and won't let them fail if the kid and the parent work hard as well. The whole school is dual language, so the kids will finish with a biliteracy certificate.

As a student at the school I can say that the curriculum is stressful but rewarding. SIGN YOUR CHILDREN UP IN TK OR KINDER. Would not recommending starting your child unless they are fluent in Spanish and English in later grades. Would recommend because it develops good skills that are necessary to succeed in life. 5/5

Never send your kids here. I went here when I was younger got bullied and MrLopez who was my principal at the time could care less. Now the same thing is happening to my cousin in middle school & 1 in high school. They NEVER care about bullying! My public school that I moved to and graduated from was so MUCH BETTER! I will never recommend this school. It’s not safe for your kids mentally, emotionally & physically.

I’ve had my kids in this school since there was a pre-school, now one is high school and the other in middle school… we have had our ups and downs of course, but at the end of the day we love it… my daughter now in high school had an issue with bullying while she was in the elementary school and I remember the issue was immediately addressed and the other child WAS made accountable for their actions and had consequences. The issue was handled very well and my daughter was went back to feeling safe and happy. Not only that but she learned to stand up for herself and speak in defense for others as well. I have many many many hours of volunteering in the classrooms, in the playground, workroom and in the office EVERY YEAR!! I have seen parents come and go and complain the entire time there either because they had to volunteer or it was to much time they had to give their kids or why doesn’t the teacher help them more, just always something with them. It’s not for everyone… my daughter and my son were part of not only dual emerge learning English and Spanish but also Mandarin which they really enjoyed. The amount of work they are given is definitely a bit heavier, but I was always thankful for the teachers that were always available to help.. they have tutoring hours and different after school programs and clubs to help. I believe no school, teacher or staff is perfect, but I also think that bad experiences with schools, teachers, or staff can all happen everywhere else too. The most important thing for me is the connection that I see between my children and their teachers, the community and teamwork with their classmates, and the curriculum in the class work or homework they have and I am very proud of them and I thank the teachers very much… This pandemic has been INSANE for everyone and online studies have been difficult for many kids across the U.S I imagine.. but I did notice those late conversations with my son (who struggled A LOT last year during the pandemic) and his teacher who would help him with his homework. I am thankful for everything they have done. Like I said many ups and downs, my kids have NOT loved all their teachers, but MANY of them have really made an impact in one way or another in their lives and they are very close to them… I remember not liking my teachers, thinking I had to much homework, and feeling overwhelmed, but that’s life.

Both my kids needed help with homework and even thought we asked for help several times they never got it.

My son is on Kindergartner- transitioning first grade, the Spanish teacher is compassionate and caring - but in general, I have a terrible perception and experiences with the institution, there's no emphasis on the arts and they don't nurture creativity, is quite pragmatic and a lot - a lot - a lot of homework for young minds ( computer homework, math, English and Spanish ( all lessons from internet sources and not enjoyable for Kids.) Over the quarantine -online teaching - some teacher has poor content knowledge, misspell lessons, no mastery over the basic-kindergarten subject matter, no standard or average pedagogical knowledge.

Also, my son has poor social skills ( only child no siblings,) when I asked for help they toll me to read articles and get my son involved on extra-curriculum activities- outside school ( I wasn't offered tangible support and my son developed a T-shirt-chewing necessity and every time I pick him up from school his shirt was wet from chewing it ( however, after the winter break and school were over my son stopped his chewing thing, back to school in the spring-back to chewing ( indeed a lot of anxiety in the classroom -chewing was a way of meeting a need.) The severity of how much my son was chewing his clothes at school was an indicator of stress and unhappiness for a young mind.

Esta escuela tiene un sistema retrogrado y poco efectivo, la idea es saturar a los alumnos con tarea y programas y de esa manera imaginan que es una escuela efectiva. Llevan años vendiendo ese cuento y muchos más, como el programa de microsociedad, perdida de tiempo. Fui una madre que asistía a observar y los padres que hacen comentarios maravilloso, imagino que ni se asomaron.

Ninguno de lo mencionado lo inculcan y sus "lideres" carecen de estos valores ( sra burgos) Promueven en los niños el estrés, poca autoestima y la atención hacia los alumnos es insuficiente. Si algún niño muestra valores y es bien educado, es porque lo trae de casa o naturalmente es un niño con estas características, no por la escuela.

Pesima escuela, elementary school, no la recomiendo, ha terminado el proceso legal a favor y es hora de cerrar esto con nuestro comentario personal. Espero ayudar a algún padre que esté con la duda si esta escuela es la correcta o no, no se dejen llevar por los comentarios de padres que solo van a limpiar las mesas unas horas, sino padres realmente involucrados, que han tenido la necesidad de entrar a la oficina del terror y solicitar mejoras en la educación de sus hijos.

This school prides itself on the great things they accomplish but they do so by stressing out students, families, and teachers. Admin sit back and watch as everyone else is overworked and never address the underlying problems in not holding students accountable and the high teacher turnover rate. I’ve been great, dedicated teachers leave because of how they are treated and because real issues aren’t addressed.

Too much online homework without actually practicing what is being taught in the classroom.

Some teachers are great but there’s a high turn over. Every year 5 or more teachers leave because of the stress and work load placed on them. They are shamed if they don’t go the extra mile for this school. Admin acts like the teachers don’t have lives. Some are very dedicated to students but others don’t know what they are doing because they are new.

Some students have a strong work ethic because of how they’ve been programmed to work since TK. TK and Kinder should be developing students into how to be a kind community member and not overload them with academia.

They only have 2 paras for over 900 students. This isn’t a school for students with needs. Even the psychologists isn’t there everyday because he’s split into the 3 schools: elementary, middle and high. Some teachers have support that goes in for math, but then they are taken away to do tasks for admin. This isn’t a place for students with disabilities. It will set them up to fail.

They have the school counselor chasing students who misbehave and blame it on teachers for not building relationships. Students aren’t held accountable for their choices when they hit and bully others. They get mad at parents for bringing this up when other students aren’t safe in the classroom.

Teachers at this school are so afraid to get fired that they walk on eggshells for the principal and turn a blind eye with bullies that have relatives working at the school.

On the contrary this school does NOT have the resources to help kids that have special needs. All they do is say they are working with them, when in all reality nothing is being done. The kids at this school that are not in the correct setting are just allowed to terrorize other children that are trying to learn.

This school does NOTHING about bullying, starting with the principal. All they say is, "we are working with the child." But have nothing to show after months and months of "working" with them. All the principal does is blame the teachers, as if it were their fault these kids are like that.

This has been by far the WORST experience we have had and the WORST decision we have made putting our child through this. Don't be fooled with what Everybody says about it being a Great, High-end school and being privileged to go there. DON'T DO IT!!! Don't put your children through that, this school is NOT at all what "they" make it out to be.

I was at this school since kindergarten and I am now in high school and it had been a great experience for me because all the teachers are so great and they are so helpful some parents say that the school is bad but they are not attending the school the child is and the child probably is having a good experience with this school and even if a parent has a "vad" experience it shouldn't matter because it is their child that is in that school not them and before taking ur child out maybe ask them what they think about the school and they would say they love it u can make friends easily and the academics and education is also very high I recommend this school to any child of any age to become part of the family.

I am currently a junior at CVLCC High, and let me tell you my experience is going downhill. Ever since Freshman year they started firing teachers that were family to us. They keep saying we are a community, a "familia" if you will, but I honestly haven't been feeling like home at this school. They fired our math teacher and we didn't have a teacher for the rest of the school year and we literally learned nothing. I loved attending this school in the past years, but now I honestly don't know what to say anymore. We have some staff that is great and hear us out like Ms. Calleros and our receptionist Sandra, but I don't feel like I can personally reach out to our principle, Mr. Lopez and it's sad that Dr.Ramirez isn't around to see the real state of our school.

I don't regret ever getting transferred. People have to know that this school is incredibly innovative and expect there to be changes ALWAYS. Dr. Ramirez has gone out of his way to initiate the high school and I'm proud to call myself a first-generation Cobra. It is not the location or the buildings who make the school great but the students and staff, the education is what matters. Here at CVLCC I have a voice. Dr. Ramirez has given his word that if anything is wrong we should be able to communicate with him and let him know. If there's anything I would change of this school is the teacher to student ratio to 1:20 or 1:15 even though our classes are 1:30. One of my teachers has made an impact in my personal life and motivated me to follow my heart and mind. That's what I mainly love about CVLCC High. Our teachers are incredibly motivated and passionate about the subject/elective they teach. The environment is great and welcoming. You might find flaws in CVLCC but you have to understand that not every school is perfect. CVLCC prepares you/your child for the future! Thanks Dr. Ramirez and staff! Thanks CVLCC!

We tried to attend this school, we really did for 4.5 years, we volunteered for hours and hours, attended all events, stayed in contact with teachers and were initially impressed with the administration, staff and teachers. Then the school added a middle school, we thought this was great! but then the school became crowded and administration failed to add sufficient and properly skilled staff and teachers to support such a large population, next a High school? Again no significant addition of staff from the outside and poor poor planning of facilities, resources and staff. We also had issues with bullying combined with favoritism, nepotism and quite frankly a TOTAL lack of diversity at the school which led to Spanish being taught as if Spanish was their first language, and English/Math taught at a level or two lower compared to traditional schools in the district. Our children are now at a traditional CVESD school that is rated a 9 and runs a 90/10 immersion level, our kids Spanish levels and math/science are much higher than from CVLCC. I suggest to anyone to do their research, maybe this school is for some, but definitely not for us.

I had 2 children in this school. It was the best experience for me and my children. The staff is great and we all volunteer to make it a better place for our students. We were always treated with respect. I have wonderful memories of this school.

I am so happy with CVLCC. I Have three children that attend this school. Two in elementary and one in middle school. They are challenged daily and I know they will be academically ready when they graduate. I attended private schools all my life and the curriculum at CVLCC equals if not surpasses them. The only difference being that it is absent of religious studies and is tuition free. I love that they wear uniform! It makes it so much easier to get three kids ready and out the door week day mornings. Spanish, Mandarin, and English. Our kids will have better opportunities when the time comes. The best thing I find about this school is that all the parents get to know each other because of the mandatory 30 volunteer hours we are to offer. Don't let this scare you. Like I said I have three kids but I'm only obligated to do 30 hour a year for them. It can be sporadically or in one month as long as it's completed. I think this is a great idea. This is a great idea because I get to see how the school works, I get to know the teachers, and my children become happy and encouraged to performs well in school.

We have 3 of our children at CVLCC and we have found the educational program rigorous and finally a place where our children are stimulated and challenged. We did our research before enfolding and visited at different times to get a feel for the school. Like at any school there is room for improvement but we found the parents hanging outside the school talking to each other welcoming. No flea market feel for us. I welcome any perspective parent to our campus and please ask to see our curriculum. Schedule visits to the classroom and see if this is the right school for your children. As a parent and advocate I highly encourage you to become informed and seeif this is your school!!!

I am so glad people are finally realizing the truth about this school. I made the BEST decision to take our child out of that "crowd." People with no manners, standing around chatting like "comadres" outside the school every morning was the most annoying I could ever see. Everytime I either dropped off or picked up, I felt I was in a fleet market!!! Staff is disrespectful in the way that they just hear you talk but at the end "they are right," and their approach is unconsiderate. The bullying here is outrageous and they really don't have a realistic solution that STOPS IT. All those "meetings" are useless as what really happens DOES NOT at all match with what they promise.

I am very disappointed about this school. I had another expectation for my child who is a English learner all the workshop i have gone to said that if my child learn Spanish fluently his English would improve. it s the opposite now he forgot what he has learn in English and doesn t get the Spanish. This school doesn t do a good job in teaching English language arts and in reality Spanish is a good trait to have. It could open opportunity but the main language in this country that will get you anywhere is English. I agree with the other parents comment beside it failing curriculum their lack of discipline and arrogant is far beyond being a good school. I just the fame the got back in the days but it s not a god experience for the child nor the parent.

At one time this was a great school, in the beginning. Dr. Ramirez now over sees 6 schools and has no day-to-day understanding about what is happening at CVLCC. We know many that have pulled out their kids who have attended from Kinder - 5th, because bullying, crowding, shameful tactics, dishonest in actions, and more. It's nice that teachers get a catered meal every day - it's not nice they can't afford to hire additional help at breaks and meals to watch 300 plus kinder and 1st graders. No accountability for kids who are hitting and pushing. They rule with an iron fist - it's their way or the highway. You disagree with us - you'll be punished or we'll punish your kid somehow. A lot of great families are leaving. Recently a middle school class took a trip to Disneyland. Each student had to pay their own way. If student couldn't afford it - had to sit in office that day. The Director says he didn't know anything about it. Sad that the teachers and parents allowed that to happen - that's not community that's separation. Just tip of the iceberg. They change the rules and policies daily. During testing kinders had to stay inside during recess for two weeks that is crazy.

I used to be so proud my children went to CVLCC, but that was before they expanded. Once they added the middle and high schools, it seems they lost focus and the quality suffered. I echo all of what was stated in the previous post. It's very unfortunate, because they had a wonderful school, but they broke it with their overinflated egos. The top administrators all drive expensive cars yet they can't provide basic P.E. equipment or having working phones in their portable classrooms. They have their priorities so far out of whack. I think they are doing all the children there a huge diservice. I hope they read these last few posts and come to their senses and get back to where they used to be.

I just pulled my son in kider from this school. I am very dissatisfied with this school and its staff. My son was stabbed in the inside of his nose with a Popsicle stick and he was bleeding everywhere. They took for ever to call us the parents and because the mother ofmthemother child had a lot of influence in that school it was all swept under the rub by the time I got there. My son was very pressured many times by the mother of the other child and its staff to says it was an accident after al ready stating 3 times that it was purposeful. When I confronted the staff and they' admitted to their mistake the principal never even called he did not even care. This school has nothing but psychological bullies for staff and your either part of the click or you are not. I don't recommend there is no check and balances they rule them selves. I had a terrible experience.

My school is a great school! We are a multilingual school, learning Mandarin (Chinese), Spanish and English! Are teachers are great exemplary teachers, from teaching Ballet Folklorico to Literature! Although, our school could be a bigger campus, it is great the way it is because we are a small community that knows each other and we are really close friends! :)

I have my daugther in Kindergarden at CVLCC I truly believe that is a great school. What makes a great school? well great principle, office staff, and amazing teachers. I love the fact that the school is dual immersion (English/Spanish) and I like the fact that they are multicultural. Like almost everything else there can be room for improvement like more online accessibility to students homework, assignments, etc.

THE SCHOOL IS GREAT BUT THE RULES CHANGE EVERYDAY!! I have a niece that is trying to get into this school and was not accepted y because it was a RAFFLE and she was not picked , So todfay i find out that there is a new student and is the friend of the PRINCIPLES Niece!! That is sooo not right!!! he need to be fair and make that student wait till next year to start or what about RAFFLING HER NAME!!!!

I actually graduated from CVLCC in 2003 and I can only say great things about this school. I had such a wonderful experience and I owe all of my achievements to the wonderful programs that were offered while I was there. I have known the principal all of my life and there is no doubt in my mind that he works day and night to see his students succeed in all they do. I am now a college Sophomore in Los Angeles, CA and I am succeeding both as a student and professional. CVLCC is a wonderful school that I would love for my future children to attend.
