Very involved teachers, staff, and school community. We enjoy all of the programs offered by the school and PTA. Even during COVID we feel overwhelming support from the Principal Dr. Lerma, teachers and parent community. An excellent environment for our children for three years!

For the most part teachers are very very nice but if you get on their nerves they get really mad.

Mr. Ruth Is a nice guy. He goes in each classroom to check on the teachers and Students. He is protective of his teachers.

Chula Vista Hills has some work to do in this area, children with special needs lare sometimes not given all the services that they need.

Mrs. black helps people when they're sad and Mad and also when they have a problem with other children.

When you are a upper grader it's really good for your kids and Mrs. Ortiz is the best teacher ever.

A little overwhelming, especially if you have more than one child. Homework could be scaled back a bit.

In all the years I have had kids going to their school, I have only had one teacher who was problematic. I would highly recommend staying away from this school for TK, but they have strong and professional teachers in all other grades as far as I have experienced. The principal, Mr. Ruth, communicates regularly with parents and is VERY responsive to any concerns you may have.

My daughter has been attending CVHES for two years and I can not praise the teachers and staff enough!! They truly care for the education of each student as well as their total happiness. We are a military family and the support provided throughout deployment was tremendous from her current teacher and from the previous year. So happy to have a loving environment for my daughter to learn and grow.

Love this school for my son. We have been here for 3 years because my son was being bulled by a principal at another CV school. Like the small school feel and wonderful staff and parents. If you are unhappy do what superintendent told me... Go to another school. This is a perfect fit for my child. I think in general schools today should offer more creativity and less emphasis on testing. But that is all over this district. Hopefully we can change the district leadership with school board elections and then the district administrators. Would love to see CV district leadership put kids first. No elementary child should be tested. Just way too much. My child is not a test score. His brain is still developing. That being said still love this school. Very caring people work here!

Im glad to hear things are going better now that the previous Principal Monica Sorenson is no longer there . For the 4 yrs prior yrs. things went from being a greatest school, great environment , friendly teachers & parents , great principal to everything turning upside down by Sorenson after Mrs. Parker left. Sorenson splitted the teachers & parents apart she used her position to demeanor the minority and the push the children around when parents weren't around. The district received reports of multiple parents on the happening however, Escobedo never did anything about it :( instead the district is not there for parents concerns they covered the principals poor/ inappropriate actions. I'm just glad Sorenson got moved for our community children's sake. I pray this new principal brings CVHills back to being one of the best schools not only academically but parent / teacher / principal working towards the same goAl for the students.

As you read these reviews please keep in mind the dates of the postings and that there are over 400 families at Chula Vista Hills each year. One person's disgruntled post is only one out of 400 opinions. Given that almost half of Chula Vistas Hills' families choose to go there on a zone transfer from other schools please take some of these posts with a grain of salt. Unfortunately in life we can't make everyone happy. This is a great school with a dedicated staff and wonderful community. Please form your own opinion, and do not rely on the personal agendas of others.

This is an excellent school. I switched schools for both my children since I was not getting the results I wanted from their former school. I have had nothing but a positive experience. The new principal is great with the parents and students. The front office is very friendly. The teachers are very educated and care about the students success. They offer many after school programs to enhance the arts. I am very pleased with my decision. Overall, CV Hills is an excellent school!

Chula Vista Hills Elementary School is a great school. Our child is in Kindergarten class. They have YMCA daycare after school until 6:30 pm, so I don't worry about transportation, etc. The location is great.

PARENTS WHO HAVE HAD NEGATIVE EXPERIENCE WITH ANY SCHOOL SHOULD REPORT IT TO THE SCHOOL DISTRICT, AS WELL. MAYBE WITH ENOUGH COMPLAINTS THE SCHOOL DISTRICT WILL DO SOMETHING.

Nothing but great experiences with both the teachers and the principal. My son loves going to school . The principal is great with the kids and really takes a personal interest in them. She has sat in the parent teacher conferences, responds to all my emails, calls and concerns in a timely manner and I feel she is very genuine. I am sorry others have had bad experiences, but I just don't see that happening at all.

Concerned parent, I had my daughter transferred from her old school to CVH. Had a meeting with the principal and heard and felt negativity the whole time in her office. After a few days, my daughter had an incident. Principal advised me to revoke my transfer. Not giving me any chances or my daughter to fix the issues she brought up. After confronting and explaining how she was acting, she went from being a principal to trying to intimidate me and not caring about my opinions. Also she doesn't follow policies she is worried more about test scores and looking good. Make sure you do your homework about this principal she is not worth the energy and gray hairs. Horrible experience.

Principal very friendly easy to communicate with and is very passionate about her students. Teachers have an amazing curriculum plan. My daughter enjoys learning the way they teach! Love cvh :)

The teachers at this school are interactive with the kids and set high expectations for them, which I don't feel happens enough in this day and age. Despite not being a student here for a few years, I can confidently say that one of the best teachers I have ever had taught here. Only downside is the new principal, who I feel doesn't interact with the kids nearly as much as Mrs. Parker did.

Why would one parent try to intimidate a principal when its the principal that has the power to intimidate parents. What a ridiculous comment. Parents want a good education for their children, period. The current school principal focuses too much on her personal vendettas. She needs the boot!

The negative comments were made by one parent who has been trying to intimidate the principal. Like you, the rest of us 400+ families have had positive experiences with our teachers and principal. We are very happy that our children have the privilege of attending Chula Vista Hills!

I loved this school when i went to it the teachers really wanted s to excel in our work. The new principal is really bad though. I loved the old one but she sadly had to move to another school :(

Chula Vista Hills is a GREAT school! The teachers are wonderful and the education is TOP notch! The few complaints here about the principal are obviously from parents who are never happy with anything or do not like to hear the truth about their children. There are a few viral parents at our school who continue to spread hate about the principal because they can't get over the old principal leaving. As for poor leadership, our school was in the 900 club this year and was awarded the CA Distinguished School award for 2012. If the teachers don't like her, sorry, you don't have to be her friend. That should have nothing to do with our children.

This was the first year for my child. I am so disappointed with the principal. The teachers might be great teachers, but a poor leadership is sure going to affect our child's education. My experience with the principal was horrific and my child will not be attending next year.

My daughter attended this school for two years. Its a good school but it would be a great school if CVH had a different principal the teachers are great but I pulled my daughter out of CVH due to the issues with the principal
