School administrators teach character to students but don't practice it. Meritocracy is set aside when it comes to student achievement awards.
Tokenism and racial quota prevails.

Again is you are a girl and of a certain ethnicity then you are good. But the boys are constantly told they are the problem and that they are bad. The get no respect. They only protect girls at this school

negative 1,000.... the lowest number you can think of

if you are of a certain ethnicity they have your back. It is very obvious with the way they speak to and scowl at the kids they seem “bad”.

THE ABSOLUTE WORST LEADERSHIP I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED. The administration at this school is UNPROFESSIONAL to say the least and they basically get to do what they want with no accountability from the school district. All they care about is your son or daughter coming to school so they make money. They even sent home a two page document at the beginning of the school year telling grown adult parents when it is appropriate for your child to stay home from school. The front office is extremely rude, not welcoming at all. Not what you Would want people to experience when they first enter the school. They constantly tell the kids how bad they are, that they are the worst class in that grade that they have ever experienced, they have cones setup in the courtyard so students stay away from certain areas and if they don’t they get yelled at. Every interaction with a student begins with an accusation, the is no emotional support at all but they constantly love to tell students what is wrong with them and that they are bad. Kids are not allowed to stay on campus after school but they rent out the school fields/yard for community events and games with tons of random people in and out. This is not a school you want your child to go to. They take no pride in being professional eduacators who can really make a difference in kids lives, they are clearly there for a paycheck, no more. In fact half of the so called administrators are lacking training and experience. They seized the opportunity to climb the ladder at a school that has very little requirements to be hired as leader. They lack compassion, creativity, integrity, and most of all love for children. I could go on and on about how much a horrible experience they created for my child. You can’t complain or try to resolve any issues because they all cover for each other and you can’t call the district because they can’t help. Do yourself a favor and run far away from this school. I feel bad for the few good teachers they have on staff they actually became an educator to make a difference in kids lives, all the others there are the worst educators I have ever experienced in my entire life. I feel bad for my child that they had to deal with this horrible place

They do not do any teaching and have the students work on tests on computers.

Posted: March 11, 2016

The teachers are too lazy to grade it and
are too conscious of hurting the students' feelings

Posted: March 11, 2016

The teachers think the students are in charge and whatever the students do is okay. the students control the classroom

Posted: March 11, 2016

When I entered the classroom, the teachers were not giving instruction. All
the teachers do is have the students do computer work. There was no instruction going on.

The school has focused on Social, Emotional Learning this year, teaching each student core values that haven't been taught previously.

This school has grown tremendously within the last 2-3 years. With the integration of STEM and VAPA academies this school has transformed. The teachers who have been hired have all been great additions that have brought a lot of innovative things into the community. The school was just given The Classroom of the Future Award and the NCUST Gold Award this year, proving how much has changed. Parents who have commented before clearly haven't witnessed the change this school has gone through under the new staff and administration.

Just Awful. Couldn't get zone transfer for my child because it was too late in the year. When I tried sharing my concern as a parent to staff (secretary-she wanted to know why I needed to speak to vice principal, to the vice principal, and to principal) they were bothered that I had a complaint. They were all defensive and pointed the finger that the problem was either with my child, myself,or at home...not with the teacher or their "methods" of teaching. Parents, don't feel as if you and your child have to stay their because of where you live. I called the School District, and they were so helpful. I was given information I did not know about.

I feel that the majority of the comments like the previous poster had mentioned are from the past. This school has grown a lot. I had the privilege of attending the middle school opening and the superintendent of the district made a great speech in which he highlighted that just 10 years ago, Feaster was one of the worst performing schools in the district and that not it ranks in the top 10 percentile of schools. What an accomplishment. The new principal has given the school his vision of implementing the STEM and VAPA academies. There is so many after school programs, all students at the school have 1:1 technology (an iPad or an iPod). My students teacher, I can't say enough of her work and dedication to my daughter. This is the only school in the district to also offer electives for students at the end of the day, like in high school. Overall a fantastic school. Can't wait to see what else this school has to offer.

This school I find pretty great. Most of these negative comments are from years ago but the school has changed a lot in the 2013-2014 school year. They have added the STEM and VAPA Academy and they have finished building Feaster Charter Middle! The school has great technology resources. Great school!

Ive had children in this school for 8 years now and have gone through three principals. We've seen a lot and been through a lot but what we've witnessed with the new administration is a travesty. The new Principal has no regard for the students or parents and cares only about what you see on the surface, new paint and some murals and he pretends it's all great, meanwhile the students are suffering and he is not interested. Previously thriving students are now performing below average in several classrooms and neither the teachers nor the Principals seem to mind or want the children to perform at the higher levels they're known for. My children will not be attending here next year, and perhaps not even next semester!

Feaster pre school (((( BEWARE ))) Mrs. Garcia wow not a good person at all what a big FAKE ACTOR OMG. As soon as the parents walk in she acts charming and sweet, but behind closed doors she is very serious, stern and strict. Please do yourself a favor and DO NOT ENROLL YOUR CHILD HERE. Principal cant do anything about it. This school lacks structure.

I have raised two children and have gone through quite a few school systems. This year I was blessed with raising my Grandson. Feester was his home school since Kindergarten. However I live in another city. I personally did not want to uproot him from all the kids was familiar with in the beginning of his 1st grade year, since he was having a difficult time emotionally. The woman in the office Marta went above and beyond her job to get all the paperwork I needed to help keep him there. They helped me get him in the after school program so I could work. The teacher my grandson had was young and full of wonderful imaginative ideas for learning. My Grandson at the end of 1st grade had a wonderful report card in a time in his life when things were he was feeling insecure and afraid. I love this school. There are not many teachers or school workers that will go that extra mile and give a child the love that my Grandson has received. It has been my personal experience that this is a school that cares about their pupils. As parents, isn't this all we really ask for? A school that cares for our children academically but also for their emotional well being.
