My son has 16 kids in his class this year. This will help him get the attention he needs to improve his reading. All of the teachers are amazing, and have been teaching for many years. I love the Friday morning assemblies and the red carpet events. It’s a tight-knit school and everyone is like family.

My son was going there since kinder and it was a decent school. Not a 10 but decent and the old principal Dr. C was great with the kids and didn’t allow all the bullying to continue on. once we got the new principal things went downhill quickly. She did not implement consequences quickly enough imo and prob why kids were getting away with bullying so much. My oldest had dirt put in his water, constantly being bullied no matter how many talks I had with principal and teachers and then she had talks to the bully’s but no real consequences until it got so bad the kid spit in another kids face. Then go top it off, my kinder was constantly being touched in his privates by other kids… six times in a matter of a month to be exact and again just talks with the kids but no real consequences. the last principal would have had recess taken For those actions after the first 2 /3 times. The last straw was when a child told my kids she was going to track them down and shoot them with a gun. My kids have never even talked to this child and was just walking on the playground when it was said to them. The teacher blew it off saying “obviously she’s not really gonna do that” fed up with the lack of support in resolving these other issues, I immediately got there stuff and said we were not coming back. The principal was in a meeting so she hadn’t known about the incident I did want to speak to her about it and asked to have her call me but she never called me back.

My two kids have attended Parkview for years and my whole family loved it!!!!! The teChers are great. The school changed when Dr. Corington left and Mes. Valdivia came in to be the principal. When Dr. Corington left so did a bunch of teachers. Mrs. Valdivia isn’t friendly and is SO hard to get ahold of. If you want to talk to her you have to hope she is in her office because she wont answer your calls!!!’! There’s also too many combo classes. Me and a bunch of parents signed petitions stop combo classes at this school. My family went to the back to school picnic and now it looks like more tracher left!!!! why do all the tezchers keep leavingv????

Park view is one of the worst schools I've ever put my kid in, park view is not very safe for your children my child told me a kid jumped the fence and ran into the street! Do you want that happening to your kid?! The bulling at this school in unbelievable! My kid has came home crying because the bulling at this horrid school is trifling. The teachers and staff are so rude and my kid said that they were blamed for several stuff they didn’t even do, kids at this school vape and smoke, no body would want their child exposed to that! They barely have a dress code to the point where i pick up my kid from school i see kindergartners in crop tops, if i could i would rate this school 0 STARS. Definitely would not recommend.

The last principal. Dr. Codrington. was moved to a new school in CVESD and attempted to recruit almost all of the general education teachers to that new school. However, some of us parents worked really hard and only 20% of the teachers left, most were from Kindergarten. Many of the best teachers stayed AND teachers send their own children to Parkview, so that says a lot about the academics and environment. My 1st grader has a class size of 21 and my 5th grader has a class size of 27. The classes are typically small. My 5th grader is exceeding expectations across curricular areas and my 2nd grader is reading 2 years ahead and met his end of year math goals at the beginning of the year. I do assist my kids with their learning at home, but the teachers are all extremely experienced and hold high expectations. I personally feel that the new principal, Mrs
Valdivia, is much better than her predessor. She has instituted a lot of positive behavior supports, does classroom observations, asks teachers to lead workshops on what their doing well, and knows how to communicate with the children. Our PTA is strong and raised over 20K during the fun run, which for a small school is excellent. We are a small community and parents know each other and support each other. I prefer this school to the experience we has at Salt Creek, which is huge and we didn't get to know any of the families or the principal.

This school has completely CHANGED. We used to absolutely rave about Parkview. Volunteering, supporting the school and staff and feeling like it was a great community. Now I wont recommend it to anyone. My child has been at this school since 2018 and they are now under a new principal and half of the staff this year is new as well. The morale is so low. No one seems to even want to work there anymore. Which makes for a terrible learning environment. The bullying is non stop. Verbal, physical.... what happend to zero tolerance?!... Fellow parents and students alike have voiced concerns on the classroom sizes with nothing changing. 31 children in one classroom?! With a state average of 22?! Ridiculous. My child used to be happy to attend school and now we are practically forcing them to go daily. The principals concerns seem to be on making the impression that everything is fine while it is a literal trash fire behind the scenes. I will be transferring my child from this once wonderful school. It is terrible that such an amazing school has lost it's strong leader (principal) and is now being run like a circus! The front office attendant is so unkind and has minimal patience, for even the smallest of questions. Don't let the numbers of this school fool you. It needs to be updated. This school is not preforming at a 10/10 and when this site updates finally post covid it will reflect just that.

The teachers are good, the office staff can be very rude, I wish they would be more courteous. The office staff does not treat children respectfully. Again, teachers are effective and I only had good experiences with all of the 5 teachers my children have had.

The principal Mr. Shy is the best! Remember how you were always after aid of the principal in school. Not this guy! He's super friendly,Maleah's smiling, high five-ing the kids and knows everyone's name!

We don't have learning difficulties in our home, but a friend does and the school has an impressive curriculum for students with learning difficulties. I'm impressed.

We haven't had an issue with this, but the school has a zero tolerance policy and with the outstanding hands on staff, you can see the students are thriving.

We love Parkview!! It's the best school in the district! The rating for Parkview Elementry should absolutely, hands down be a 10! We HIGHLY recommend buying a home in this neighborhood so you know your housing tax dollars are going to this outstanding public elementary school!

Parkview is so great that families transfer their children to Parkview from other schools (especially Eastlake schools, which are brand new and look nice but are overcrowded with underwhelming staff and underperforming students) and due to the amazing staff, hands on teaching, small class sizes (which is super rare in public schools today), innovative campus, gardens, art, reading, talent, higher than average test scores, curriculum, and much, much more!

There is a extremely strong patriotic presence at Parkview. That parent must have come from a low income state/school near a military base where homes cost a lot less than they do in Chula Vista.

Parkview is such a small school ( less than 20 students per class ) and there is not a military base down the street, it is possible the family is used to schools near a base. They must have wanted to purchase an affordable home and did not know the neighborhood.

Parkview is in a beautiful and safe part of East Chula Vista, up in the hills with stunning views, a quiet suburban neighborhood with affordable homes. That is why it is attractive to Military home buyers who have come from states where the real estate is not expensive. You will still pay 1/2 million dollars for a home down street from the school. And since it is not far from San Diego's military bases, its a desirable neighborhood due to the aforementioned items.

In a nutshell, Parkview Elementary School is a better than a GREAT school, it's the only school you should send your elementary aged children too. With outstanding leadership from the principal Mr. shy and his staff, to the multiple play grounds and sports fields to the hands on outdoor gardens, Parkview has absolutely met and exceeded all of my expectations. I do not usually write reviews, but Parkview definitely deserves one! I'm impressed! You will be too! Send your kids here!!

The real rating for this school should be a 6. Those who are military families probably should seek other schools with more of a military presence. This school has no programs for military children nor any child who possible comes from a different family/blended family.

The school approach to homework is not effective nor consistent. However, depending on the teacher, the homework could effective base on how much content is covered in class. Parents may have to do some of the teaching at home..

This school really does not support students with learning differences. However, the staff really works hard to support those students with the little funding they receive from the state. New technology and more school material would be helpful. New programs to help struggling students, maybe volunteer students from the upper grades to help those student in the lower grades. In addition, more parent support would be useful. Especially when the school is understaff.

I love this school! My Daughter has been attending Parkview for 4 years and I'm so happy with everything they have to offer. I'm so happy with the changes they made; the principal is awsome! The staff is so loving and caring, they make you feel welcomed and I know my daughter is in super good hands. I'm so sad that we are moving and we have to change school :( , I'm really going to miss everything about this school! Since you get to the parking you feel welcomed. The teachers, the principal, office staff and all the staff is so nice, they keep you updated on every single detail about your kids and school. Thank you so much for all the wonderful years that you dedicated to my lovely daughter!

Parkview Elementary has changed dramatically this year, with the addition of new principal Mr. Shy, he is building Parkview into the best school in the district! Although Parkview is a smaller attendance school it has a Big Family Atmoshere. The teachers and staff take personal care and attention in teaching our children. Everyone is very dedicated! Staff is available for the students to work in the classroom during breaks and lunch, for the students better understanding of the material. Mrs. Sedillo is an incredible teacher and understands each students needs. Teachers and parents work together to provide an outstanding educational experience for the students. Thank you Dr. Francisco Escobedo for assigning Mr. Shy as the Principal at our school.

This is a great school for my son. He was in kinder and had a wonderful experience. He is continuing loving school and doing well in first grade. I believe he needs the basics and all subject matter are taught here. I wish there was more technology and if that wa the case, I would have added a star. We are a transfer from our neighborhood school which is a failing school to Parkview. I like that it's a small school, good teachers,nice kids and parents, good leadership. And of course my son has a supportive home life and his parents support his education every day. It's not all the school or the teachers, it's also what parents do at home that makes at least 50-80% of the difference.
