San Pasqual HS has exceeded our expectations in every area. The staff are supportive, proactive, dedicated and friendly. They promote respect and community in the classroom, on the sports fields and in the parent sphere. From the extensive clubs, sports, and AP class offerings, it is top notch school.

A strong effort is made by teachers and staff to make learning meaningful, engaging, enriching, and hold students to a high standard. The large majority of the staff go above and beyond to show respect toward students and each other. Teachers and administrators genuinely care about the kids and want to do what is in the student's best interest. Perfection is an impossibility in life, but efforts are always being made at SPHS to work toward it. This is a reflective culture of educators with a willingness to change, as evidenced by ongoing proactive measures.

I have taught at 3 of the 4 schools in Escondido, this is the school I stay at and this is where I send my own children. Great school with a diverse variety of programs and supports for students and families as well as consistently high expectations by teachers.

I've been teaching at this school for two years, and I love my experience here. There is a huge push towards uplifting and including the community. The school is very safe, and our security team does an excellent job at providing safety without intimidating our students. Our admin team sets high standards, our teachers uphold those standards, and our students rise to those standards.

There are few places in our modern society where you will find people that love what they do-sad as it may seem, it's the truth. This is one of them. At San Pasqual High School, the large majority of teachers and support staff, custodial and admin alike have this unique and unfounded love for their job, for their students and their school and community at large. The teachers are generally vulnerable and willing to try new things and reflect on their reasoning and biases. The admin, though often walking a fine line, do their best to support all stakeholders: teacher, students and parents, and the community. Staff and teachers, enjoy working together and that respect for one another seeps into the passion and love and dare I say pride, that each one has for the school. There is a continuously refined balance between the love of learning, discipline, and respect and the school works hard to ensure each is given it's dues. I graduated from here in 2002, came back to teach in 2008, and my kids will soon come through SP as well. To say we bleed blue and gold-would be an understatement, but 100% true. Eagle Pride is real.

I have been teaching and coaching at SPHS for the last 27 years. SPHS is a great high school. I attended SP graduating in 1986. It is such a great school that I sent all 3 of my children to SP, and they all thrived, even during COVID for my younger two. Two of my children, my oldest and youngest, had great experiences in sports at SP, including field hockey (my oldest went to central Michigan, a D1 university on an athletic scholarship), girls soccer, football and track. My middle child also played field hockey, but she chose to be an athletic trainer and had a great experience learning many skills that helped her in her work experience after high school. My son excelled at football, which I coach, and thoroughly enjoyed track. I highly recommend sending your students to SP. We are without question the BEST high school in Escondido at everything, including academics and athletics. I recommend that you check us out in person. Once you do, you will see why we are the best.

SPHS is an amazing school with a culture of support, respect, and inclusivity. There's truly something for every student. SP has strong academic programs with a huge range of AP classes as well as collab classes to support students with learning challenges. SP offers classes in the arts/VAPA, CTE, AVID, and leadership (ASB). In addition, SP has incredibly successful athletic teams --- the gym walls show the impressive history of our teams' achievements. And SP also has numerous award winning programs, clubs, and extracurriculars -- including but not limited to our dance team, DECA club (entrepreneurship), and SuperNURDS (robotics)! The SP staff is both kind and collaborative -- they work together to support students and to create a safe and nurturing environment for all students!

As a staff member who has worked at San Pasqual High School for more than 2 decades in several departments, in various capacities, I am proud to say I would recommend SP to parents looking for a school that offers rigorous instruction, multiple opportunities for academic support, both in and out of the classroom, sports galore, engaging visual and performing arts classes, a career and technical education program, and a warm and welcoming Wellness Center for those seeking emotional support. Our administration is hands on, from their daily greeting of students who arrive to music and a warm hello, to forging relationships during their lunchtime walkabouts with trash pickers in hand, keeping our campus clean and beautiful. As for the teachers, their caring and commitment is demonstrated daily via the relationships they build and the effort they put forth to reach and teach all students. San Pasqual High School is more than just a place of learning—it’s a community where students are seen, supported, and inspired to reach their full potential.

San Pasqual High School – A Community of Excellence and Growth
As a proud member of the San Pasqual High School staff, I can genuinely say this is more than just a school — it's a family. The culture here is rooted in academic excellence, where every student is encouraged and supported to grow, improve, and thrive in all areas. Academics are not just prioritized — they are a way of life on campus.
Athletics play a huge role in shaping the identity and spirit of our students. With a large percentage of our student body involved in sports, the energy, teamwork, and discipline they develop on the field carry over into every aspect of their lives. IÂ’ve had the privilege of serving as a PE teacher, assistant football coach, and head track and field coach, and itÂ’s incredibly rewarding to see how sports build confidence, character, and leadership in our students.
Before moving into PE, I spent three years as an education specialist supporting mild to moderate special education students. That experience, like everything at San Pasqual, was defined by compassion, collaboration, and a commitment to equity.
What truly sets San Pasqual apart is the unity between staff, students, parents, administration, and alumni. We all share the same goal: helping students become the best version of themselves. The support from the wider community is unmatched, and it fuels a campus culture where students feel seen, supported, and set up for success — not just in high school, but in life beyond it.
San Pasqual High School isn’t just preparing students for graduation — we’re building future leaders.

We have 8 children who all went to and graduated from San Pasqual. Each of them is different with unique passions and desires. San Pasqual had something to offer to each of them. The availability and variety of AP classes is wonderful. One of our kids took 6 AP tests in one year. These classes helped to boost college credit and advanced them into the phase in life. There are so many different programs that each of our children found their place to belong. The music program nurtured many of our children, but that was not where our youngest fit. He found a place on the SuperNurds robotic team and found his people and future life interest. Our children found a place on 12 different sports teams and too many clubs to count. There were the usual high school struggles for each of our children, but San Pasqual was a great place to nurture them through it. I am so grateful for the caring teachers, great administrators, security and custodial personal who have touched my children's lives. My children have been blessed by their time through San Pasqual and are continuing to develop as caring empowered members of the community.

As a teacher who has worked at multiple high schools and visited several campuses while searching for the right school for my own child, I can confidently say this is one of the best schools IÂ’ve encountered.
The campus is beautiful and well maintained, and from the moment you walk on, you feel the warmth of the community. ThereÂ’s a genuine sense of joy and connection here. Students are kind to one another, and the school fosters a restorative culture where relationships, respect, and accountability matter.
The teachers are some of the most dedicated and innovative IÂ’ve seen. They care deeply about their students and work hard to make learning accessible, engaging, and meaningful. TheyÂ’re always willing to grow, collaborate, and go the extra mile to support every learner.
The principal is one of a kind—approachable, present, and caring. Each morning, students are greeted with music and a smile. The principal’s office door is always open, and it’s clear that students feel seen and supported.
Safety is also a clear priority. On a visit, I walked in through the student parking lot gate, and security immediately stopped me and kindly escorted me to the front office to check in. During the school day, all gates are locked, and the only access point is the front office, where security is always present and attentive.
After teaching in different settings and exploring many options for my own child, I’m truly impressed by what this school offers. It’s a place where students are safe, supported, challenged, and cared for—and where both staff and students are genuinely happy to be.

San Pasqual High School truly stands out for its commitment to students. It is clear that the staff, teachers, and administrators genuinely care about each childÂ’s well-being and academic success. Education is a top priority, and that focus is evident in both the classroom environment and the curriculum.
Safety is also taken very seriously, with consistent efforts to create a secure and welcoming space where students can thrive. What really makes SPHS exceptional is the way it brings everyone to the table — families, teachers, staff, and administrators all work together to support student learning and growth.
ThereÂ’s a strong sense of community, and communication is open and respectful at every level. The involvement of all stakeholders ensures that students are not only supported academically but also socially and emotionally. SPHS is a wonderful place for any child to learn, grow, and feel valued.

San Pasqual has been our home away from home for over 7 years with 3 kids. We appreciate the principals’ (Mr Gregory) approach to relating to the kids. He is pragmatic and is very “real” when interacting with the students. He is always open to feedback and questions and encourages his teachers and staff to do the same. It is a very spirited school with every sport you can think of with a great deal of parent support for the booster organization. I always felt my kids were safe and well supported.

My son loves being an Eagle. As a 9th grader, heÂ’s had a wonderful experience with all of the teachers and staff on campus. There are lots of fun activities and he has been involved in three different sports this year. He has even had the opportunity to take an AP class as a freshman as well as honors classes. He is thriving at San Pasqual and I know that is in large part due to the care taken to make it a safe, supportive, and productive learning environment. Thanks, SPHS! WeÂ’re looking forward to three more great years and to having our younger son attend here as well!

My daughter is in her senior year at San Pasqual. I could not be happier with SPHS! She has loved her teachers, done well in her classes, and made many friends. I have found the staff to be very responsive to our questions and needs, and the school is fun and safe for the students. I spent three years driving her there on an inter district transfer because I knew it was the best school in the district and she and I are both very happy with our choice.

The non-teaching staff is a joke Calls are not returned unless you complain to the district office. The online grade viewing does NOT work and staff refuses to give out the tech support phone number, referring you instead to "counselors" who tell you to click "help"
