Not sure why other reviews are negative but my son goes currently goes to Avondale and he loves it. Hasnt had a single issue with the school. Nor have I. Teachers are wonderful, lunch is free, he is learning a lot and everyday he comes home he is telling me something new and exciting they did. Avondale is one of the top 10 schools in the LMSV school district so Im not sure why the other reviews are so low. Im very pleased my son goes to Avondale.

My son has been Bullied all year long. When I told him to defend himself finally, my son get in trouble?? NO!! I think not! this is not the way things should be done. Kids cant even stand up for themselves and are therefor constantly bullied.

Teachers are effective when it pertains to them and if it matches to their own schedule. Yes I will agree that at some points the teachers give helpful hints to learn new things. But my son was segregated from the other students constantly, bullied, and I had to jump through hoops because there is a teacher assigned to different things. So you cant count on one person to actually fix a problem.

This school pretends everyone comes from a gang related back ground and walks on egg shells. It's dumb!!! Babying a kid is not going to help them. Take action and correct their behavior or nothing will come of it. Kids don't want to attend school more than half the time.

The school provides home work at the end of the week with a list of things the child needs to do. Pretty much hammering down on parents to constantly check the back pack and find the homework, then have the kids do it during the weekend if they want to do just one item at a time before the due date. A child should enjoy their weekend and not stress about homework. Also not have to tie the parent down to the weekends to help with homework as well.

Horrible! Nothing gets taken care of. I also pay for my sons school meals and never get notified when the account is low. I only get notified after its in a negative balance and then charges about $30 for fees. I do not agree to this school and belive the district look into this school more, as well as improve this location.
