Too many bullies and teachers do nothing to keep kids safe. My kid has been choked hit and cursed at and the school year has barely started. Teachers act surprised and show no interest in addressing the issue, it's a tactic that has been working for the staff meanwhile there are multiple kids and multiple incidents. While the usual culprits remain in place with no consequences.

My child attended kindergarten through 5th grade. Every teacher was his favorite and he had a great overall experience. The teachers always communicated with me plenty and my messages were always responded to promptly. He says the teachers make learning fun and he loves the front office staff that is helpful. They always have playground supervisors and gates are always locked during school hours. He wishes he didn't have to move onto middle school.

This school is amazing. We are a military family that decided to set roots here in Oceanside and my little one is attending Del Rio Elementary School since pre-school till now on his 3rd grade. Teachers and staff are all wonderful and amazing. I love how my son is growing up in a very diverse school community where he learns not only academic stuff but also about kindness, acceptance and compassion. Love this school and will recommend it to everyone especially to any military families who will be station here.

This school used to be the lowest performing school in Oceanside; but those days are over. It is climbing the rating scale and with good reason. Teachers are passionate, engaged, and make learning an experience. The campus is super clean, and the atmosphere is like a big family.

I love Del Rio! Our new principal is amazing. The teachers are passionate and welcoming. The students are enthusiastic and excited to learn. The ‘No Excuse University’ is great exposure to colleges and continued education. There are great events, performances, dances, and incentives like aviators for growth/improvement for invitations to water day. The student leadership is outstanding. The staff is incredible.

Del Rio has established a policy of "No Homework". While that may be alarming to parents, there is no need to worry. Students are not assigned extra homework. If a student doesn't finish their classwork, they are asked to take the work home and complete it. This is work they have been doing in class and should be able to complete it on their own. Students are asked to read every night for 20 minutes. It has been proven that students who read for 20 minutes everyday at home with a parent have a better vocabulary and score higher on standardized tests.

The Del Rio teachers are AMAZING to work with! They understand that our students all come from very different backgrounds and home lives. The Del Rio teachers work with and encourage each student to take responsibility for their learning and encourage parent involvement. Del Rio believes that ALL students are college bound and will successful in school and in life.

Del Rio has adopted the "No Excuses University" learning model. With this learning model. students are taught that they can attend college and they can be successful. They are taught that Character Counts and to take ownership over their learning.

Del Rio offers a state preschool program and a special education preschool program. Often times, you will see the children playing with each other or spending time together in the classroom.
All students are Del Rio are considered General Education students first and then pulled out for small group instruction based on their different learning needs.

We are a ZERO TOLERANCE school for bulling! Students who need assistance with bullying are helped immediately. The "bully" is then given the proper supports to understand what they did and why it is wrong.

I love Del Rio, the staff, teachers and students. It is a wonderful school. I have three boys attending school here this year 2017/2018. Every teacher we have had since kinder has been amazing!
