1 stars. My son came here and got called fat and bullied mostly. The new P.E. teacher is horrible, and worst of all, he comes home crying. Never go to this school.

Pablo Tac School of the Arts is a gem! Students are engaged in language immersion programs, arts, and community oriented activities. My daughter is in 2nd grade and loves going to school each and every day. As construction finishes, it’s going to be a state of the art magnet program!

The school teachers and staff are committed and great! They’re working on family engagement but it’s hard right now with construction and the fact that many families can’t help/participate due to finances. The saying below about counselor ratio is wrong because we only have 480 kids in the school so I don’t know where that number comes from. This is a great sweet school and my kids teachers have been awesome!

This is a horrible school. The principle is horrible, the school nurse and consular are also horrible. My children did not like this school, they thrived once I removed them. They allow a lot of things to go unnoticed and they pick and choose what situations they will take serious. Do not recommend this school.

I have had personal experience with this school. First of all, the school counselor has a caseload of over 900 students. That is the statistic you indicate. I imagine that makes services very difficult. I know first hand though, the counselor is very caring and does the best she can. I also had an opportunity to see student's performances at this school. This is supposedly a performing art school. I found is very disturbing that the custodian has taken space from the actual stage in order to make space for an office. Last year, students actually performed at different school due to serious limitations at this school. This school was already challenged since another school in Oceanside District had to be put on this campus because of a sink hole issue. Please go visit this school and see for yourself. I believe administration and staff are doing the best they can considering how poorly funded and neglected this school is.
Currently, the school has opened with construction in full progress. The district has had the entire summer to get this school ready BUT that is not the case. Meanwhile, building is progressing in terms of a new district office. The school site had the fence that protected the students not functioning among countless issues with construction still underway. Oceanside needs to treat low income areas with more consideration and respect for the right of underserved children. This is why the public is choosing other options instead of public schools.

Proud of Pablo Tac School of the Arts (formerly San Luis Rey) and their dual language and arts programming. Looking forward to the incredible facilities as they finish the modernization project. This place is a hidden gem.

I love that Oceanside has another Dual Language school. This program is essential because we live a world of many languages and learning at least two languages prepares our kids for a better future.

My daughter is in the bilingual program which is amazing however I get to see some children that are not and they are thriving with their education most of the teachers I’ve met are truly passionate about what they do and put in the extra effort. This school has gotten a bad rap for some reason but all I see is love in this school

My son Isaiah is in the Transitional Kindergarten program. I am so happy with the care and learning he receives here. The staff are all welcoming, including the playground noon duty and even the security guards. I absolutely love Mrs. Salmon the Tk teacher! All the children come out happy and ready to return. My son brings home art, talks about what he learned and not once has he complained to go to school. I couldnt be happier and feel this school is awesome!

This school used to be a great school until they got a new principal, he is not good for that place. The school has gone down since the last principal, she was great. PTO has gone down since some great people has left sad;-( they were awesome. Now it seems like no-one is involved for anything now. Poor kids! They don't even have many field trips anymore to reward the kids at the end of the year. For this school to improve it needs to be remodeled, need a new principal, and a whole lot of parents and teachers involvement to be better and succeed. Also money.

This school is great. The principal is great. It seems as if the staff and teachers know all, if not most, of the children by name. It's a small, very involved community. The PTO is a group of wonderful, friendly parents who want what is best for the students. There are many family friendly activities at this school. Family participation is welcomed and encouraged.

This used to be a decent school until they got the new principle. As for the teachers, I loved the previous teachers that have been at the school for many years. The newer ones are not so great. Seems like the classrooms are so packed that they take the frustration out on the students. NOT A GREAT WORK ENVIRONMENT! I will be taking my child out and placing her in a different school very soon.
