I went to this school for 6th and 7th grade and I am so glad covid cut that short. This school is quite literally awful. I got bullied by my teacher and the very same year he won teacher of the year for BMMS. How do you let that happen? I suffered for years from social anxiety following this event and he continues to teach like nothing ever happened. I have never met someone who had a positive experience here. Student violence is constant and unmanaged. Do yourself and your kids a favor and find somewhere else to attend.

as a student here i see a lot of things including the teachers and the look and everything else. the teachers mostly get hated on if they are too strict and annoying. like an example is if they dont let you have breaks on block days when you have to sit down for two hours straight, not even let you have water without having to leave, and yelling at you for no reason. the bathrooms are pretty gross, people do random things in there and write things and throw toilet paper on the ceiling. kids can be really annoying in passing periods and the sixth graders like to yell and be annoying. some kids can be nice but others can just be mean and just rude for no reason, thats not the schools fault its just my experience from here. they do try to promote good things but it doesnt do anything and the school and the people are the same after all they try to do. but there are some good teachers that you can vibe with and dont hand out a lot of home work and make the class fun and easy to where u can actually learn without pain.

This school is pretty good, most of the teachers are nice and they respect everyone, I may not like school or classes, but bmms will do.

The current principal, Mr. Corso, is THE NICEST PRINCIPAL EVER! Even though I've been here for only a couple months, kids were pretty friendly & teachers did a decent job teaching. Some teachers did give out more HW then they needed to but most were pretty nice. I don't think there was really any bullying here either... My younger sibling is going here too and he's really enjoying the school! I would recommend this school to others <3

There are still some weaknesses in this school that should be resolved. A few good caring teachers:. The problem with many of the teachers is that they miss the honeworks that kids turn in. The result is that the kids have to do the homework again but for half credit. That's not fair.

Unfortunately, this school has gone downhill in the 3 years my kids have been there. Three different principals in 3 years and a significant loss of some of their best teachers. My kids have done well there, but they are under-challenged. They also plan to change the math program for incoming 6th graders, which I fear will make things worse. I have an incoming 6th grader next year and I'm sure he'll be under-challenged. I will do my best to move him to a different school if I don't see significant improvement next year. The most positive attribute is the parent involvement, especially the Science Olympiad program. It is unfortunate that the most challenging aspect of the curriculum must be run by parent volunteers.

I have to say I love Black Mountain Middle School. All the teachers are caring, nice, funny, and cool. The staff at Black Mountain is awesome. Right before you walk in to school, you will see the principal and staff greeting everyone as they pass by. You'll see the teachers and principals walking by everyone during lunchtime having conversations with the students, and the school will usually play music and do more fun activities during lunch. This is one of the few schools I know that has teaches orchestra, and i can personally tell you I miss that. I strongly encourage you to enroll your students in Black Mountain Middle School because if not, your seriously missing out. I wish I could've graduated at bmms but, I ended up moving after seventh grade. I miss everything about that school, especially being in orchestra. Black Mountain Middle School is awesome!!
