We have 2 kids attending Pomerado Elementary and we love it here. Ms. Crow is a great principal and all of the teachers we have met have been very supportive and embraced our children. They enjoy going to school and we have had nothing but positive experiences here.

I love this school! Ms. Crow and Ms. Ouellet have had a positive impact on my childs education. All teachers go above and beyond to support all students academically.

Homework is age appropriate. Students are giving ample time to complete assignments.

Teachers are the best at Pomerado. Theyre dedicated, caring, and help all students to thrive academically. They also welcome parents in the classrooms, special events, and other school activities. The Kinder team is the best. They all worked together, helped each other, and are on the same page! Ms. Ouellet was a great teacher for my daughter: shes caring, hardworking, and what a Kinder teacher should be!

Students have great models: administrator and teachers who set the example of how everyone at the school should treat each other.

They have great resources to support all students academically.

Yes! They take it very seriously and are quick on dealing with it.

I like that they incorporate leadership skills in the classroom by pairing struggling students with stronger students to mentor them. I feel that if you can help teach something to another person, both will understand it better. Therefore, it helps the stronger student and the weaker student at the same time.

My daughter has only had one issue where I felt it needed to be brought to the teachers attention. My concern was sent to the principal, Mrs. Crow, and it was handled promptly and my daughter has not had any problems with the other child since. Other times my daughter has complained about bullying, have not been out of the ordinary. Just things like so-and-so says she doesn't want to be my friend. We talk at home about ways to handle different situations. I always have her reflect on how she treats others as well to be sure she isn't doing any of the bullying. I have had a couple times when she realized she was the one in the wrong and told her to apologize. Personally, I feel that bullying isn't something the teachers should solely be held responsible for monitoring. I feel their level of involvement is appropriate.

I feel that the homework load is reasonable. My daughter is done with her homework within an hour and 20-30 minutes of that is usually just reading.

I feel that the teachers are available to kids and parents. Every time I have emailed a teacher, they get back to me promptly. There have been a few times that my daughter has had complaints that I felt should have been addressed a bit more thoroughly, but overall the teachers and staff seem to really care about the kids.

They instill the core values in their daily routines and talk about what they mean. Their values are colorfully posted all around the campus as reminders to the students.

The Principal, Mrs. Crow, is very involved and is quick to handle situations that rise to her level. I like that the teachers of all grade levels collaborate on preparing students for the next grade level. There are no drastic changes from one grade to the next.

My daughter has attended Pomerado Elementary for 4 1/2 years and it has been wonderful. Especially compared to the first school she attended in another district, which was a nightmare! All the teachers are very responsive, caring, and dedicated to their profession. Very happy with our decision to have our daughter attend Pomerado Elementary.

Since Ms. Crow has taken over as principal, I have seen incredible improvements across the board. Crow is unbelievably dedicated and you will always find her engaging with teachers and students all across the school. All of the teachers my children have had here have been excellent to work with. II couldn't be prouder to have my Pomerado Wildcats!

My child has attended a full year of kindergarten and I am happy with our experience. The school offers the children a good education and encourages them to do better. The layout is easy to figure out and clean. The computer labs allow the children early access to computer technology. ESS is great. The only concern I have is the parking lot. We need more space.

I'm a working mom. After earning two master's degrees, I found a job where I can work from home and be there for my son. I plan my day around his drop off and pick up times.
I dread driving into the parking lot. The "volunteers" are so incredibly rude and condsineding.
They stand around and chat with the other parents in their "cliques", holding up the line for several minutes. But when other parents pull through, we are accused of holding up the line. I was even "scolded" for not blocking the pedestrian walkway while children and parents were walking through it.
I am a dedicated parent, and an educated individual; it is deplorable how this school treats parents and children based upon status and preconceived notions.

BEST.SCHOOL.EVER! Best school ever since the 2nd week of last year. No more stress! Hooray for Pomerado. Couldnt be happier with the principal, who took a stand, and forever changed the way our school runs! No more bullying parents! Kids who never showed up are gone. Now the school runs efficiently and is by far better than any school around. Small, close-knit family, we all consider ourselves, and I am thankful for the many years I have ahead of me here. My wife and I really love the new Special Needs teachers. They came from another school and have done wonders for my daughter! Closed Campus is a wonderful idea. Thanks Mr. Ortiz!!

Kids came home begging to never go to school again because of the bullying in the classrooms and on the playground by the teachers as well as students.

We've had the best beginning of school! Mr. Ortiz made a grand presentation to all of us "newbies" with a slide show and breakfast/coffee. I can't imagine anyone not liking him or this school. almost a month in and my 2nd grader is loving her teacher, Mrs. Araiza. We are so glad we moved to Poway! Great city, great schools!

School lacks true leadership. The principal is not liked by parents and unfortunately this school is failing to make state minimum requirements.

Pomerado rocks! My 2nd grader with special needs had the best teacher last year and I can only hope the same this year. We are new to the area and I don't understand the previous posts about sanctions and horrible teachers/staff. No conspiracy I've ever seen and I was involved in a lot of PTA events. I love the school, love the teachers and love there is no drama. I've heard there was drama in the past, but school is so good, especially for us. I am glad to be here for the next several years!

This school is under sanctions, the teachers and staff are rude, may have one teacher per grade that is acceptable at best. Try your chances somewhere else. Not worth gambling your kids futures - this is the worst school in PUSD! Many families have recently chosen to leave.

Pomerado lets all their volunteers have access to your confidential documents - very unprofessional staff - clique among parents and staff - new principal will hopefully take charge but it will take a while to clean house.
