The staff here do not treat people of color well. When parents asked for more representation that reflected the students who attend this school, the response was to hire people of color only for the lowest paid and least respected positions. The quality of teaching has also gone downhill. Because of these issues, I moved my children to another school in the same district. There is a lot of talk about anti racism, but it feels more like a performance than anything real. The administration may look diverse, but that is where it stops, and there does not seem to be much concern about how other people of color are treated here, whether they are students or adults. First, maybe ask teachers to stop giving dirty looks to other persons of color?! This used to be a solid, dependable school, but it is not anymore.

My children are quite bright and graduated with A -Gs met with GPAs greater than 3.88. They had minor learning disabilities and were treated like second class citizens. If your kid is not AP or a star athlete they might as well be invisible

My elder child is studying 9th grade and he is very happy with the teachers who are dedicated and talented and also wonderful community with good friends. There are so many after school club activities and also lot of competitions like academic Leagues. His grades improved a lot as I can definitely say that it's an Excellent school with very good teachers and a wonderful community.

I’m a current sophomore and I’ve actually had a very positive experience with this school. While I may be a high achieving student so I may be biased, I liked most of my teachers except for one. They managed with COVID the best they could and once we were back on campus things went back to normal. The environment is really positive between the students and staff. The student leaders (peer counseling mainly) on campus are always available to help out struggling students if they need support academically or emotionally. The school is part of No Place for Hate and I personally have never seen any bullying on campus. The art programs here are AMAZING. Honestly just everything about this school (except for the bathrooms, hope that isn’t a deal breaker!) is super nice. While there are drug problems, they seem to have declined probably partially due to COVID. Overall I really like RB and it’s a super spirited school. Go Broncos!

Unfortunately that isn't the case at RBHS and hasn't been the several years I've attended. You will find special needs kids alone and being bullied because their aids are on their phones. They don't get the support needed in the classroom either. I've actually had to assist several of my peers with learning disabilities because they're often overlooked.

Nothing is done with the bullies at this school. It's covered up or excused because the students feel empowered by the prejudice teachers or their parents donations. Their are actually teachers who allow bullying in the classroom. It's truly mind blowing because they'll excuse it as a healthy discussion.
Allowing someone to feel less then, it's not healthy.

My parents moved us here to provide us with a better education. In truth I would have learned the same amount online these last 3 years. The support here is minimal and classes are extremely limited. The school spirit lacks because so many students feel exactly the same way I do. One thing we all learned about was drugs, because so many are present at RBHS. I'm glad my family is moving and I will finish my last year at a better Highschool.

The teachers here don't all obide with putting homework online as they state the will. Some will put it on at dinner time. When 2 Teachers imput the HW at 6pm it is unfair!

The teachers at this school are a hit or miss! Some teachers feel it's acceptable to talk about their political views causing the prejudiscms to continue. Mind you, those teachers aren't teaching Political and or History classes. The courses are very limited at this school and they utilize substitutes regularly because many of their teachers coach. They've also had student teachers teach and it's been terrible as they admit they don't know what they're doing. I have no idea how this school is rated a 10!

2 of my kids are RBHS grads and 2 more will graduate from this school. From our experience, RBHS is perfect for the high achieving honors/AP student. The academic competition is intense. My oldest did very well there and is at his first choice university preparing for medical school. RBHS is not great for students with learning disabilities and students interested in the trades or a career in the military. RBHS doesn’t have any of the vocational programs other PUSD high schools have such as auto mechanics, fire science, wood shop, etc. They do not have ROTC. RBHS does have some of the best sports and music programs in San Diego County and the school boasts around 100 clubs like Robotics, Rugby, Key Club, California Scholarship Federation, etc.

Terrible. Teachers harass students. HS English teacher posts her homework after 11:30 am. When students protest her answer is: "this is my teaching style".
Teachers regularly test on chapters not taught yet.

The school does not care about the learning standards. At times students do not even know how they are going to be graded.

Science it taught very badly. Spanish is very poor too.
Teachers are not approachable. Reportedly, if a parent talks to a teacher, the student will face the consequences.

They do not teach. Teachers keep on changing in classes. Students are penalized for the teacher changes. Teachers are unavailable to talk to the parents. Parents are actively discouraged from contacting the teachers. It is all a way of avoiding teacher accountability.

Staff has believed in diversity for many years since inception. In my humble experience, the staff and educators believe in "doing the right thing", despite how difficult the situation may be.

Clean, professional yet friendly. Staff is courteous. Environment is safe and healthy. Both academics and sports are very well accepted.

RBHS is an outstanding school with a focus on academics, co-curricular and extra curricular programs. There are a variety of athletic teams and clubs on campus for students to get involved in as well. Parents are encouraged to become part of the school by joining foundations, PTSA, boosters, and volunteer work all to support the students.

i went to this school and the only thing good about it is their music program. Its haaaaaaaaaaard baby. they prepare you for your music career really well. We have won tournaments for like the past decade now. If you are going there for the music, let me give you some advice. If you arent in it to win it.... get out. nothing else about this school is worth talking about. i gave it 5 out 5 just because of their music program

My three kids attended RBHS. All three were accepted by major universities including UCLA, Univ of Texas, Univ of Michigan just to name a few. They also received merit and talent based scholarships. RBHS teachers and staff prepared them well (along with parental motivation!) My 2 sons loved the school, but my daughter felt like she didn't quite fit into the social circles there. Her senior year was a little out of the ordinary, and the principal and counselors worked with her to help her meet her goals. I must say that Principal Paul Robinson (who just recently left RBHS) is an exceptional educator and administrator. He had a true caring attitude for his students, particularly the ones who were out of the main stream. I believe that Paul attended every sporting event, choir concert, band performance and student activitiy that was held at the school. My kids have moved on, but they (and I ) fondly remember their time at RBHS. The best thing you can do for your student in school is to volunteer your time to one of the many school organizations, and get you kids involved in an extracurricular activity that they enjoy.

I am a student at RBHS and I feel that some of the safety mesures here are not quite taken seriously...Also the teachers can tend to pick out favorites from their classes and they would mostly just be mean to the other students
