The school principal oversees the students getting on the bus. My daughter was let to go home with the principals kids friends dad. Peter. The mom called me and let me know. I got there and the dad was in the Jacuzzi between the two five year old girls. Before dinner, I noticed a goose egg bump on her forehead. She said she fell on the stairs at their house. When I brought this to the attention of the school principal I learned this was her child's friends parents and she refused to "mandate" report herself or the family. I talked to the school nurse and she said she would arrange it with the teacher to make sure if there were any additional concussive symptoms, my kid would be sent to the nurse and I would get a phone call. Worried all day, no phone call. I found out there were additional concussive symptoms but the teacher was busy with a science production video in their classroom. There's proof of the goose egg on camera for the district science video. The teacher admitted she was overwhelmed and didn't pay attention to my child's symptoms. I didn't ask her to. I asked her to send her to the nurse and have me get her to take her to the doctor. My child was kidnapped under the principal's direct supervision & neglected under her teachers direct supervision with awareness of medical emergency. I was neglected as a parent and treated like they couldn't bother to do basic tasks for me. The teacher prior to this was exceptional with interesting interactive play. After this happened I was treated like I was in their way.

My two children have gone to the PRIDE Academy since kindergarten. Excellent “project-based” learning school in Santee. They both studied very well and received high scores in exams. My older son also became the valedictorian of the school in 2020. The teachers are well-qualified and also very friendly. All the teachers and staff including the principal and vice-principal are amazing. Especially, very dedicated Principal Mrs. Bonser and Vice Principal Mrs. Murphy provide amazing support to the school. I would highly recommend this school.

I've been going to pride academy for about 4 years and it sucks. Everyone bullies me for how I look and talk, and everyone at the school makes gay jokes, racist jokes, and offensive jokes. The teachers always get me in trouble for stuff I never did, and the kids don't accept anyone. Don't go here

So this is suppose to be a school geared towards teaching kids "technology". The way I see it, they stick them in front of a tablet anytime they have free time available. Instead of doing more creative projects, art, writing stories, they are constantly putting the kids in front of their tablets whenever the children are finished with their work.
First off, learning a tablet is not exactly what I would consider learning technology. A monkey can operate a tablet. Learning a computer skill that takes months to acquire is one thing and may be beneficial, but saying that tablets is teaching the kids technology when a 2 year old can learn to use it in about 2 minutes is not beneficial in anyway. What they're doing is creating a bunch of zombie kids addicted to devices and screens.

2nd, my daughter's teacher/grade does "Friday movie day" . First about this, I don't send my kids to school to watch movies, they can do that at home. I send them there to learn. 2nd, if you're going to show the kids a movie, which would probably be fine once a month, I think showing them something educational or related to what they are learning would be far more productive. Showing regular Disney and other animated movies is just another way to stick the kids in front of a screen so teachers don't need to work as hard in my opinion. Their minds are not being stimulated at all. Rather they are spending 1-2 hours every week zoning out on junk.

Instead of so much zombie screen time for children, instead I suggest, getting them involved with projects that they can work on in their free time. Painting, writing a story or poem, learning about music, building something, etc. Kids absolutely love that, and it's very good for stimulating their minds and exercising their creativity.

I will not be sending my kids here after this school year.

This is our first year here and we love it! Our first grader is having a great year with an amazing teacher. The teachers, principal and vice principal are amazing and care so much about the students. My son's teacher has really helped him succeed. Students are taught what it means to be a peacemaker! The principal can be seen every morning helping kids out of their cars at the drop off line!

The bullying at this school, both in the class and on the playground is terrible. My son ran away from this school twice. The first time they didn't even tell me until they found him. I was in the Principal or Vice Principals office constantly. Bullying must be addressed more seriously. The teachers are nor able to deal with the issues in the classroom. They need more training in dealing with students with special needs. The teachers seem way too young and inexperienced.

Clean, fun, fabo... Great education great teachers I don't know why this school has such a low Score. They even have a reading program!

I spent a great amount of time volunteering at this school. Chaotic unorganized classrooms in the younger grades, rigid teacher/staff and principal and vice principal are militant and strict. The playground was barely supervised too. The school environment is negative and zaps children's love for learning at an early age. The website talks about "Project Learning" which is really why we chose to transfer to this school. Seemed too good to be true (project learning in a public school?) and it was. The website was very misleading regarding this. Only a handful of teachers incorporated a "project" and I wouldn't consider it a project at all since it only took place over the course of one or two days in the whole year. The real problem here and the reason why we left this school was how they choose to handle kids on the spectrum or with ADHD like behavior. Not. Very. Well. Not understanding or nurturing. More like the child has committed a criminal offense. I'm talking about Kindergarten and 1st grade btw. If you have a child who struggles emotionally, mentally, or behaviorally in ANY way shape or form, stay clear from this school if you can. If you can't - find a way that you can.

Well it has been 5 years since that awesome Kindergarten class. In hine-sight, the early grade teachers have been okay, It helped being able to participate in classroom. was able to see when my son was beginning to slip through the cracks(reg: reading). When the class sizes get bigger in 4/5, Im am still undecided on the quality of teaching. Not the teachers, more like disruptive-ness. wheather or not the teachers can perform at hi quality levels due to student behaviors.
