I would never send my kid back there. I would advise homeschooling over this place.

The school allowed 8th graders to bully my son. They did nothing to support my son or protect him. The mix all the grades with PE so it pretty much encourages the older kids to pick on the younger kids.

My son got bullied by 8th graders his first week there. We reported it immediately and the school did absolutely nothing

Horrible. They looked at me like I was dumb when I reported FOUR 8th graders bullying my 6th grader in the FIRST WEEK of school.

Many of my son's teachers have bought into the sketchy "HW is not an effective tool" research. They assign no homework at all. The results of this are (1) my son doesn't have opportunities to practice what he's learning, which is especially essential in math and (2) my son's grades come down entirely to 1-2 assessments.

I think they are nice and caring teachers for the most part. They work hard and teach hard. They should revisit some of their techniques and policies to be more effective.

I have colleagues with children at other middle schools, and every one of them has an online portal where they can check assignments, due dates, and test dates for their child. Bell somehow does not have this! I have 5 websites from the math teacher, 1 for english/geography/science, none for any of the other classes. The 5 for math and 1 for english/geo/sci are not updated regularly and are not reliable sources of information.
This is beyond broken. Come on, Bell, get with the times! Every other middle school I know of is doing this! It would be very helpful to know what is due in each class and when tests are.

Some 7th graders picked on my son and his friends on the first day of school, and I was worried. But it hasn't happened since. It doesn't seem to be a real problem.

It could be much better with two easy changes - assign HW, and get an online portal to track assignments and test dates.

These teachers like Shane Parmeley are a bad example for our students

Most are amazing and work well with children and families. A few are hard headed and haven't adopted teaching styles in this century.

Varies by teacher but most seems appropriate for students to have personal time or do outside activities/sports.

Wow! What a change! Looking great and an amazing leadership. The teachers seem extremely respectful, helpful, and knowledgable. All clean campus and no gum anywhere! They got new concrete everywhere this last 2014 summer.

My daughter just started sixth grade here at Bell in September. She has had nothing but issues at this school. A teacher said she had to bring in her transcripts personally or she'd get an F grade for the assignment to bring it in. Found out just recently the teacher never gave the paperwork to the counselor as she was supposed to so my daughter could get into advanced classes. Now after weeks of being bullied for being white I was told that I wasn't allowed to talk to the principal unless his secretary deemed it worthy. She didn't so we were "allowed" to speak with the counselor. After realizing the school was going to be of no help we now are stuck with the only real option at this point in our area, which is to pull my daughter out and do independent studies, just so she is safe! Ridiculous!! Talking to a couple teachers only to find that white children are constantly being discriminated against at this school.

I am a student here and I had so many memories at this school. This school contains many clubs(drama club,Glee club, etc.). They have a very talented music teacher who is (as I was told) the best music teacher in the district. The teachers are very helpful and caring, along with the staff. This is my favorite school so far.

I'm a student, and I have to say that this school is alright. It's not the best, and it's not the worst. This school has it's fair share of good and bad staff members, nothing worth getting all excited over. There are some communication issues that were VERY inconvenient, but all in all, it's not bad. It's not good either, but it's not bad.

very irresponsible school they allow too much and the teachers don't know how to handle their own students all the staff does is wait to get referrals from a few teachers and go ahead and suspend the student they never inform the parents
