My daughter came to California for 3 months to study English and we sent her to another school down the street, but she got bullied there so we moved her to this school after one month. Her last 2 months in California was much better. His first great teacher was very nice and helped her adjust to her new school quite effectively.

Given the lack of support the teachers are doing a phenomenal job within the restrictions they must work under. It is a tribute to them that they can do what they can with the lack of discipline by administration and the whining and complaints of some parents. Too bad so many have chosen to leave this school to teach at other schools where the students are more respectful and the administration is more supportive and effective.

The teachers are burdened with all discipline so if a problem goes beyond the classroom, there is little support from the administration. Children can lie with very little consequences. When discipline gets to the administration level there is very little accountability or follow through.

Carson is a great school for your child's self esteem. They can look forward to getting a reward just for showing up if it's their turn. Nothing like scoring points for smiling, attendance or helping tie a shoe. You can look forward to having your every whim met. If you don't like something, just complain to the principal and whoever is responsible will be reprimanded immediately without question. It's a whiner's paradise. If you have any questions, ask the administrative assistant (principal's secretary) as she is really in charge. If you can find her and she's not on a personal call. Test scores are everything so be confident instruction is focused on the all important common core tests to raise the school's ranking. Your child may even get to use computers to practice some drill and kill for a temporary boost. All of the teachers (that are left) are focused on making sure your child gets those test scores up. Don't fret about that 30% turnover rate. Those teachers needed to go anyway.

We just moved from a school that was unwelcoming so Carson is a breath of fresh air. Even though we had only completed 2 weeks it has been wonderful. Principal and teacher were very welcoming.

Carson is a beautiful school. The staff work together to ensure student success. The principal is an accessible caring person who truly works to make the school a safe and academically rigorous environment. My daughter loves to come to school each day. I love that she is getting an ethnically diverse experience!
