Language Academy is a unique gem. My daughter is in middle school and I love that it is more sheltered than a regular middle school-less behavioral issues and no drama, cliques. The kids have been together since Kindergarten and are pretty much fluent in their language at this point. My son is still in elementary and I love that he gets to rotate between teachers starting in 3rd grade. Another beneficial aspect of LA is the strong parent orgs which help fund more library support as well as garden, art, dance, world music, etc. I love the diversity that is celebrated here! Lunar New Year, Dia de Los Muertos, and the Multicultural fair. It really is a special school and the new principal is amazing! She brings a positive energy to campus.

One of the best decisions I ever made was to enroll my kids at Language Academy. My daughters are in 4th and 5th grade now and they speak, understand, and read in French beautifully and impress even fluent speakers! Most importantly they truly love going to school every day. The newly hired principal is INCREDIBLE. I just know this school is going to flourish with her leadership & vision. The teachers are phenomenal and stay for decades because they love it, and the sense of community is welcoming and refreshing. The parent organizations are super involved in fundraising, creating fun events, and bringing exciting enrichment opportunities to the kids. If you are considering Language Academy, dont think twice. I know its a leap of faith, but its 100% worthwhile! My daughters are already fundraising for their 8th grade class trip to Europe. What a gift to give a child these rich experiences and of course the opportunity to become bilingual!

Im saddened to write this review. I sent my daughter there for kindergarten and 1st grade. Unfortunately, kinder is different than 1st. 1st grade French vs. kinder French is completely different. I wish we would have been placed in Madame Bastien we hear she is amazing. We are stuck and will finish out the year, but our class is lead by a sub. Our teacher is on leave, but to be honest the sub is better than the original teacher.

If you have a problem and need to reach out to admin. There is none. Both men in charge now have no tact. I miss the previous principal she was on it. You can feel the lack of leadership. I am looking at French American school, I may stay and attempt 2nd grade but my daughter is unhappy and so am I. The experience this year is completely different than last year.

Ahhh, after just three weeks of starting kindergarten, my 5yo was able to understand what their teacher and I thought would be a discreet conversation. But no, they understood most of what we were saying. I had taught them the basics (salut, s'il te plait, merci, au revoir, un-deux-trois-etc.) but there they were, listening in with a mischievous look on their face. I was shocked in the best possible way. Wow!

There's a very strong sense of community. I feel it's true what parents of older kids say, that it really is a big family. Definitely nicer than our neighborhood school. Way more diverse. And I love that my kid will make friendships that will last through middle school. And I also recently learned that most of the teachers at the school have been working together for 20 years. (Lots of CA schools' teachers haven't worked together for more than three years, according to Great Schools!)

I feel like this is a hidden gem that not many people know about! Def choice in. And ask about spaces, because sometimes a place opens up, even as late as the day before school starts.

Our six year old absolutely loves Language Academy and so do we. She loves learning in Spanish and shes excited to go to school every day. The school fosters a great community and we feel at home there.

Since becoming a part of the Language Academy family 4 years ago, Im still in disbelief that my kids are in a public (aka FREE) language immersion school. It is the districts best kept secret. The highly skilled teachers are compassionate, caring, and creative in the way they engage their students to be and do their best in English and their target language. Never once have my 1st and 3rd grader ever whined or complained that they didnt want to go to school. This is a pretty big endorsement.

Language Academy is the ONLY school in San Diego to offer a French language immersion program in addition to Spanish Immersion. The school is also K-8 so our students grow up in a very tight know community with devoted parents and staff. Our experience with the school has been wonderful and what a gift to give your child to learn a second language.

I transferred my daughter into this district specifically because of all of the amazing things I heard from families. It is one of the only public magnet Immersion schools to offer both Spanish and French in the state. We could not be happier. The teachers are excellent, admin is super supportive and they provide a lot of enrichment programs and extracurricular opportunities. Not to mention my daughter is reading and speaking Spanish fluently after just 2 years. Bravo Language Academy!

This is our 4th year at The Language Academy and I'm still so very thankful that there is a FREE French immersion program close to home! Learning French is very important to me as it is a heritage language. Both of my daughters are currently attending The Language Academy and they are in 3rd grade and Kindergarten. I took French for 3 years in high school and lived in France for a year, and my 3rd grader probably has a more robust vocabulary than I do at this point. What an opportunity to be able to learn a second language, fully immersed, and at such a young age.

The school has separate programs for French OR Spanish. Students don't take both; they pick one. Many people think they only want to Spanish; that program is a harder to get into with the Choice lottery system (Although not impossible!), partially because a certain number of the openings are set aside for students who solely speak Spanish (English learners). If your child studies French in K-8, they will be totally set up to learn Spanish in high school (classes are easier to find and they will already have a leg up on their knowledge with French!).

This is a great school community because parents CARE about the immersion. There are many opportunities to volunteer to improve the school experience, but it is absolutely incorrect to assume that the school expects people to be SAHM. Most aren't. There was a teacher who was moved to another school this year due to enrollment, but this is a very common practice on behalf of the San Diego Unified School District. Nobody is trying to close this school. If anything, our school has parents who are so devoted and educated that we are willing to challenge the district on their controversial and outdated staffing policies!

It is a K-8 school, which is great. It's a big school, though. Parking at the school is challenging since it's location near San Diego State means that a lot of the streets nearby require a "B permit." However, once you get integrated into the school life, you soon figure out where you can and cannot park and you work your way around it.

Families are not required to have any knowledge of the target language. They learn everything at school. Communication from the school can be challenging, but that doesn't mean that your child is falling behind. I think some parents' expectations are set a certain way in preschool with daily updates, but that isn't a usual or sustainable practice for a public elementary school. We love this school!

My child started Kindergarten here and before Thanksgiving break I was ready to pull my hair out. The school offers no support to the parents they expect you are a SAHM. They stress the parent out on purpose to make you take your child out of school. I went to this school for the Language aspect but left for every other reason. They taught my child about feelings. Thats it. Never fully read me in on his academics when I asked for specifics I still got a generalization of my child. If you think your child needs additional support, in any way, do not send your child here. They are looking for ideal children. The school is always losing fundung and teachers so it is very possible the school may shut down soon.

We fell in love with this school during our child's first year here in kindergarten. (Side note: The entire French kindergarten team is incredible. They are all so much fun, very invested, and deeply care for their students. No matter who your child gets, theyll hit the jackpot with their teacher!)

Our son is now finishing up 2nd grade and did not speak ANY French going into kinderhe is now speaking, presenting, reading, writing and understanding the language at an amazing level. If you are hesitant about immersion, we have seen firsthand how well this works. Truly!

Before starting the French program, we feared his understanding of grade level concepts might suffer due to the added language challenge, because, while language acquisition is wonderful, we obviously want to be sure he succeeds in all areas academically. Weve been blown away at his mastery of age appropriate concepts and we feel the language learning has only increased his ability to learn and grow in other areas.

Another aspect of the Language Academy we love is the beautifully diverse community in terms of language, race, socioeconomic backgrounds and culture. We value this for our kids and are so grateful it is a part of this school. It feels like we've discovered a hidden gem of a community here!

We've enjoyed field trips, jogathons, fall carnivals, holiday and multicultural performances, recent classroom parties and we have a k-3 school dance this month. Specials during school have included gardening, P.E., and art, and after school there is a variety of programs conveniently hosted on campus for those interested. (Our son has loved after school chess and soccer.)

We still cannot believe this language immersion school is public and free of charge, it feels too good to be true! Our first son has loved it, and our second child will enroll in the fall. The teachers, the curriculum, so much about this school has won our hearts! If youre on the fence about language immersion, consider this the little extra nudge you needed and come join the Language Academy fam! :)

The BEST school ever! I wish I had known of this school when my teenager was in elementary. My daughter is 6 and can have full conversations in French. The teachers have been absolutely amazing too. People sometimes have a hard time believing its a public school. I also love the diversity!

My daughter is in 2nd grade and I intend to enroll my other daughter soon. I am obsessed with the Language Academy. I appreciate the diversity and the recognition of different cultures. Teachers have been awesome and supportive. There is a strong parent support network. I especially love that you join a family as you get to know the kids and their parents. I am sure as we all mature together, we will avoid the dramas that many other schools encounter as a result of the supportive environment.

I am obsessed with this school! My kids are in 2nd and 1st grades and they LOVE it. I love the staff, from the office to the teachers and administrators.., it is a passionate caring team and I am so grateful to them. I feel like I won the lottery by finding this school. Language immersion is the way to go! These kids leave 8th grade with a 2nd language under their belt, a solid education, and a strong loving community of lifelong friends. Dont think twice if considering choicing in Language Academy. The French program is easier to get into. Its worth it! Its an incredible program with dedicated teachers.

This is a great dual language immersion school!! Childrens brains are designed to learn language, and this school is SDUSDs way of helping your kids learn a new language while they are still able to do so easily!

The Language Academy has both a French and a Spanish program, but my child is learning French and she loves it! The community of students and parents at this school is wonderful, too! Each program is small, and the school runs from Kindergarten to 8th grade, so a great community is formed and these kids all become lifelong friends from the get go!

Most families who apply get accepted when the child is going into Kindergarten/First grade, but you have to sort of know the target language if you want to get in later on, so if you are interested in a really great free language learning program for your kids, then you should apply through School Choice to go to The Language Academy!

Younger siblings are guaranteed admission after an older sibling is admitted, but you have to apply to go here through School Choice and the window for the Fall 2023 school year is open!

The French program does not require any knowledge of French for admission (most of the parents dont speak French, either, so dont worry!), but the Spanish program is a mixture of native Spanish and native English speakers, so their enrollment works a little differently.

If you definitely want to get enrolled, apply for the French program! Its really wonderful and has opened my childs eyes to a beautiful multi-cultural world where she is part of a really great group of kids all learning and speaking French together through this immersion program. She absolutely loves it, and the challenge of learning a language on top of normal school work is helping her become a really great thinker and problem solver. But its also not really a challenge, because her brain has just soaked up the learning and she is thriving!

Is this school SDUSDs best kept secret??

Absolutely love this school. It has a real sense of community. Its also incredibly diverse, not just racially but socioeconomically. My kid is being exposed to other kids from all walks of life, which is very important to our family.

My kid started kindergarten in 2020, back when schools were closed due to the pandemic. Despite starting school through Zoom, her incredible teacher, Mme. Clifford, had her speaking French by the end of Kinder. Kiddo is now in 2nd grade and has continued to flourish academically. Its really neat to see her writing out her math reasoning in French!

Any time Ive had a question or issue that Ive emailed the principal, Ive heard back from her within a day or two. The support staff are friendly and efficient. Even the substitute teachers are beloved partners in my kids education. In addition to the PTSA, theres also a parent-led non-profit that raises funds to support arts, music, science, and other departments.

Our neighborhood school is Marvin (9/10 on Great Schools) but Ill be sending my twins to Language Academy for kindergarten. I cant wait!

Language Academy is a great school! Its language immersionfor free! Anyone considering where their child is going to go to elementary (and middle) school, I would recommend Language Academy:
-you get to join a great community of staff, parents and kids
-your child will be bilingual and biliterate - what a gift to them!
-the course work is challenging and engaging
-your kids will be with the same group of children through 8th grade!
-there are many activities and experiences your child will get to take part in (some for the parents too!) including class outings, sports, and art - to name a few

I sent my two children to the school because of the dual immersion program. We just moved away and they transferred to a new public school and I found that one of them was quite behind and I had not been made aware. My child had a very difficult first grade year at language academy, with the teacher being out half the year and then coming back and being very cold to the students, or at least to my child, who still talks about the experience. And she is a very sweet well behaved child. On a positive note, the third-grade teachers were awesome.

Im so happy that my children are no longer at this school. I was shocked to see how far behind they were when we transferred to another public school. There are some amazing teachers here, the third grade teachers in particular. However, this was overshadowed by the first grade teacher that my child had. My child still talks about how the teacher guilted the children into submission with one of those archaic color charts for behavior. On top of that the teacher wasnt even there half of the year, and my child had a series of substitutes, each one worse than the other. Administration never presented viable solutions. The type of behavior they would report seeing other students engaging was shocking. I had no idea what a gamble we were taking on our childrens education when we sent them to this school.

Probably 75% of the teachers are good or great. Unfortunately, over the years there have been some weak links. Some of these have since retired, but new ones have arrived. It is not possible for every teacher in any school to be amazing, but I think there could be a higher standard set from the top.

Mostly the current principal has been responsive and worked hard to make positive strides at the school. I think there is more room for student leadership and activities for older kids, and I also think there is more of a need for holding all teachers accountable to a higher standard, so those who aren't stellar will improve.

Homework is not emphasized. This is good in terms of family time and not requiring loads of busywork. However, it does not help kids build good study habits to get them ready for high school. This created a problem for my son when he started high school.

This will be my 14th year as a parent at the school, and I can say I am happy with it. There have been some weak spots over the years, with some teachers not really teaching or being well-meaning but ineffective, but more teachers are great and really connect with their students and teach both language and content well. Students complete their 9 or 10 years at the school fully bilingual, with the opportunity to earn college credit if they pass the AP language exam, and a pathway certificate toward the state Seal of Biliteracy. This is the reason for the school, and I appreciate the opportunity and the ongoing dedication to this goal. While in elementary grades, my kids had music, art, theatre, dance, and gardening classes as part of their regular day, which is more than kids get at many elementary schools. Many parents complain about bullying, but I have not seen it to be a huge problem, certainly not more than most schools, and probably less. I cannot speak to Special Education nor equity issues. There is a strong core group of involved and dedicated parents, but nearly all parents are supportive from home. In my opinion the weak points in the school are consistency from classroom to classroom and grade to grade, and math instruction at the elementary level, but these are outweighed for me by the language instruction, variety of experiences with different classes and activities, the multiculturalism of the student body and staff, and the community built over 9 years. Overall, our experience has been positive and I would recommend the school.

The level of education has gotten progressively worse in some areas and has been great in others. There is a lot of looking the other way when it comes to classroom instruction or behavior. The French program and a few really good teachers are the only thing holding this school together.

My daughter is about to complete kindergarten in the Immersive French program. We love this school, faculty and office staff. We are grateful that the bus is an option for our family. Without the bus we would have opted to send our daughter to a school closer to home but she would have missed out on the opportunity to learn French. I have been very pleased with this school and I look forward to sending my youngest to T-K here in fall of 2019.

My child has been attending this school's French program since pre-k, starting 6th grade soon. All of her teachers have been great with the exception of 2, 1 of which is no longer there. It is a great community of parents, students, teachers, volunteers. I love the school's diversity and acceptance. No bullying issues. My child speaks 3 languages. Kids learn all the subjects in designated language. I love that it is a K-8 school. It is very demanding, but you see results. Awards/certificates aren't just handed out like at other schools. Awards are rare at this school, gotta really earn them.

Both of my children are graduates of the Language Academy 2014 and 2017 having spent K-8 at the school. The most impressive part of the curriculum is the Middle School. The 8th Grade portfolio provides a great foundation for High School - public speaking, rigorous essays, personal reflection on one's education and accomplishments. One of my sons took the AP French exam in 8th grade. The teachers are on the most part compassionate, intelligent and dedicated to their students. Having K-8 education really makes the Middle School years more tolerable. Also my kids are both fluent French speakers!

My son has been in the French program for 6 years, and we have been very happy. The teachers, for the most part part, love what they do and help each child succeed. The office staff is fine. Consider how many parents and kids they have interrupting them all day long, and you could understand any short tempers. Just be polite and you'll have no problems.

My son is fluent now and has no issue understanding French when we travel. The only drawback is more on the state of California. Theres no budget for art or music so the programs are extremely limited, and sometimes run by volunteers.

Both of my kids have had caring and competent teachers in the last three years that they have attended this school. However, it is a different story for the office staff. The receptionist is rude and hostile to the parents -- I'm not sure what the problem is but perhaps she needs to get some help. Both of my kids are afraid of her and I think they would be very reluctant to go to the office to ask her for help if they ever needed it. My other concern with the school is the growing class sizes. The fourth grade classes are so large that I don't believe that the teacher has time to get to know the students very well. These are the main reasons why we do not plan to return to the Language Academy next year.

The school concept is amazing. My children have learned an amazing amount at this school.. the teachers have an irreplaceable love for the students. The staff..... whole different ball game. If I could have my children finish through 8th grade without EVER stepping foot into the office it would be a blessing. They are rude, dishonest and just very unpleasant. They don't problem solve, talk to parents and students like second class citizens and make it very apparent that they HATE their job or life for that matter. I have seen the longer the office staff is there.. the more the self righteous attitude. Its very unfortunate to have such a great program but the "faces" of the program ruin the experience.

I know everyone has their opinions but I've been a room mom for years and I get very involved in the school programs and issues. That said, as a room mom I got to say, yeah the principal is not at all easy to work with, she feels like she does not have to involve parents in anything but that one negative thing should not affect the amazing teachers and programs that this school has. To those parents who can not give a clear answer to what is going on in their students lives at school, become involve! Visit the class, join a club with your student, be there and participate. Get off the he said she said and actually experience things for yourself. I love this school and I am very passionate about it.

This school has recently gotten new leadership and needed it. Arce is perhaps not the best PR administrator, but really is passionate about education. She has turned some parents off, but that was because communicating with them and selling them on her decisions was not her top priority. Her priority is the kids and working to better the quality of their education at our school. She has done an amazing amount in just one year and I look forward to seeing what she will be able to do as long as we are lucky enough to have her.

The new parking lot, parent pick-up zone and landscaping is another fantastic addition to the infrastructure of an already academically and culturally rich school. This coincides with development that is going on in the SDSU area in general that will make this neighborhood an even more interesting place to live. A previous reviewer mentioned that recent changes here represent a turnaround at a "failing" school. However, the school has been "failing" only in the sense that it hasn't met targets for its subgroups in standardized tests; tests that have finally become discredited and done away with by the State, by the way. The CSTs have always been a poor measure of true learning and won't even be given this year in most grades. Even so, LA's overall API has consistently been above 800, which is the state target, and its subgroups that haven't met the target (and traditionally don't do so statewide) are very close to the target of 800. But to label a school "failing" for this is ridiculous. I have two children at this school and for me, at least, the fact that they have been learning both English and their mother's native language in school is an amazing success.

The new principal arrived last year and inherited the HUGE burden of turning around a school that has been failing for the past years. She is up to the task! Her management style may not be of the liking of some (angry parents always complaining but offering no solution to help) but she is the leader the school needed so bad to get better. Over the course of one school year, she has put in place a few modifications that are certainly efficient, for the benefit of the kids and the teachers alike. The school looks better, is better and, finally got equipped with books in French for the French program. The task to be accomplished is still huge, but I am pretty confident things are going to get better and better thanks to the leadership of a principal who believes in quality education.

Don't expect much from the principal, it seems like she is not in the best willingness to help either parents or children. When asked for help, it is hard to get an appointment with her but when one finally can meet, she has a negative response. It is unfortunate to have her as the principal because most of the teachers are awesome!

I think the concept of learning a second language is great. Communication with th principal and her secretary leave a lot to be desired. She is lax in communicating with students as well as parents. The school does need to upgrade its use of technology. There is a lot of technology available but the teachers do not take advantage of it.

At first I thought that this was the biggest mistake that I made for my child. The students have to take an assessment test to see if they are ready for school and knowledgeable, apparently some students are overlooked at because you can tell that they are not ready for school or they have special needs. The principal is new and a headache to try to deal with, you never get an appointment with her and she makes the most stupidest decisions, we are hoping she gets her act together soon. I am happy that the old rooms are being upgraded, AC is needed badly during the summer. My child loved coming to this school, this isn't the first school we have attended or looked at but knowing how much the teachers care and try their best is an amazing feeling to have. I recommend the school, take a tour and ask the parents/students questions and you will see that it's a great choice in the end.

You can't ask for better language results in the first three yrs that they are in this school than somewhere else. The educational program is different from other language schools but this one is a challenging one that in the end your kids will surprise you on how much they can absorb in their little heads.

Only 10 classrooms and the office are original. The library and 8 room middle school opened in 2006 from Prop MM. In 2011, the $1.1 M Joint Use Sports Field was opened and 6 conditioned bungalows were added. The 2013 school year will open with a 14 room elementary building and two additional middle school classrooms, (all with air conditioning) from Prop S. 2014 will bring a new and improved drop-off/pick-up parking lot. My eldest was well prepared for high school. . My only complaint is the restriction of parking on neighborhood streets during school events due to residents with permits only. My children have done well at this school academically. We are looking forward to several more years at this school. I think the K-8 experience is a great one

We started here in the fall of 2012 and came from a dual-language program at a neighborhood school in another state. My students are in 3rd and K in Spanish. I have been very impressed with the teaching method compared to our old school. It is a natural language acquisition process and my kinder student sings songs in Spanish all the time at home (and we speak only English). The principal is new this year, very experienced, and is focused on a collaborative effort between the administration and the parents. The school facility is old and run-down, but there is a gorgeous, new building (construction now) opening in the fall. All of the parents I've met who are actually involved at school are wonderful and dedicated. We are very happy so far and love our children's teachers. They are experienced and very caring. Cons? No parking, so drop-off and pick-up are a challenge. I expected more more parent involvement with a school of this size. Very limited enrollment, so difficult to get in (lottery). Coming from in or out of state, you must get in to the lottery before February for fall enrollment. Parent sentiment (see other reviews) seem to be based on individual classroom teachers).

My experience with this school was very disappointing. My daughter started kindergarten this year and became very unhappy within 6 weeks. Thankfully, I was volunteering in the classroom and could see, hear, and feel the negative atmosphere and dangerous situation. While my daughter was asking, not to move to another class, but to switch schools, and I was considering it, she was next on the waiting list at a charter school when a spot opened up. She switched after 2 months. Volunteering at the new school has made even more obvious the stark contrasts between schools. I had thought, maybe this is just how schools around here are--physically depressing, sour in mood, uncaring, but no one should have to put up with that. For the diligent students, including mine, the academics are great. She learned a lot but could have learned more in a positive environment without the distracting kids for whom this is not the right program and who frequently act up without being dealt with effectively by the school. This school has some systemic problems that, hopefully, will be dealth with by the new principal.

My experience at this school was amazing! As a graduate from Language Academy class of 2011, I wanted to share my thoughts on the school. The school has an amazing environment, from the location to the teachers, students, and entire staff. Your child gets to go to a school, where at the beginning they start off in a class full of little strangers and come out as a family! The school is absolutely unique, as a child going to that school and learning another language is a normal thing but to other kids at other schools its cool, but we don't tend to realize this until were older because its what we're used to. And its also a good school to challenge your child with, because it's going to be hard but they'll learn to manage, and once they hit eighth grade and have to do their exhibition, they'll be nervous but they'll also be very thankful for later on in their high school or college educations. I loved and still love this school and all the staff, and I recommend it to everyone that wants their child to grow up and learn in an amazing environment!

Not impressed with this school at all. My daughter started kindergarten this year and we were so excited. Two weeks into the program I saw a things in the classroom that should not be happening. The interim principle was dismissive of me and the other parents. I changed classrooms and another mom just pulled her kid. There is a history of parents raising concerns and they are dismissed and not taken seriously. The school is designed to protect the teachers. If you do decide to go to this school, make sure you can volunteer to know what is going on in your child's classroom. You are the only advocate your child has because the system is not designed to protect the children but to make sure they continue to pull in money. Once again. . . not impressed by this school at all.

This school is still making so much progress and growth! I have a student in middle school and another in elementary. They are both learning so much! Especially the younger one, who has benefitted from the great new leadership since 2008 and more and more stable staff. We can't wait until we get back from winter break and they get to use the brand new joint-use field! It also helps loads that the coaches have begun all-new sports programs after school and there are also many after-school activities to choose from on minimum days. It is amazing to see what hard workers the teachers are and how many of them work together. I'd say about 92% of the teachers there ROCK! Just ask around and you'll know who to avoid.

I have a third grader and seventh grader, both in the French program. I love this school. The french program is excellent--both my children are fluent in the language. I love that the school is K-8 and mimics a private school environment. The teachers and staff are wonderful--especially the principal. I highly recommend sending your children there.

Teachers and staff are amazing. Very involved parent community. The kids are not ONLY learning to speak in another language but they are learning to do so in a diverse and multicutural environment. That is something that will serve them well in their futures in the "real world". I took my kids to France last year (3rd and 5th grade) and the locals constantly complimented them on their accent as well as their fluency. They were thrilled that their French was far better than their mother's who only learned hers in college. The school is a tight knit community, with students, staff and parents supportive of one another. I have been really happy with my experience.

My boy is in the second grade and he's French is tr s magnifique. The reviews posted here are old. We got a solid principal in 2007 and she's been great at caring for our school, students and teachers. Look at the ATI Rating and remember that these kids are learning in a foreign language when they take that test. TAKE A TOUR, decide for yourself. Consider how awful the transition to middle school is, then think about your child going to MS with the same friends and teachers he's known since kindergarten. Enrich your child's future with a language or two!

Our child is beginning his second year at the Language Academy. The curriculum reflects the second language in meaningful ways and has brought many opportunities for our child to be exposed to another culture. We have been very pleased with the quality of teachers and the attention given to both language acquisition and literacy. This is a great school for self-motivated students who are ready to challenge themselves. We are very pleased that San Diego Unifies offers the option to learn a second language at such a young age. We appreciate the forward thinking parents and educators who established the Language Academy so that our child has this opportunity to gain this skill.
